Good Spot for some Authentic Mexican Food... Inside, It's very clean and well organized, nobody speaks English which is always a good sign! Â Chips and Salsa are served quickly and they are both "Homemade". Â I tried a Steak Torta and it was very good, some other associates had The Enchiladas and enjoyed them as well! Â Service gets a bit spotty during the Lunch Rush due to the fact that they only have one waitress.. GTFJD
Review Source:I give Chapala 4 stars. After being a Chicagoan/Mexican and eating Mexican in the Chicagoland area for more than 30 years, I can say I have experienced many eating places. Chapala has excellent seafood, the red snapper is awesome, the fish soup is very good and generous in portions. In addtion, the staff is warm and effecient. The place is very clean. They also provide carryout. Also very affordable.
Review Source:I want to give this place 3.5 stars, but can't, darn yelp. Â Because I think it's a step above fine. Â I personally enjoy this place when I'm back on the East Side. Â I usually order the camarones al mojo de ajo (garlic shrimp), which are delish, and others in my family swear by their shrimp cocktails (none for me, cilantro is my bane). It is a little more pricey than the restaurants in the area but really, if you're not from the area, it'll look like a steal to you, something around 10 bucks a person and thats for a generously portioned seafood dinner. Â And not that it matters a whole lot but I always find the arroz here to be the perfect amount of tasty, not too dry, not too salty, just right. Â The horchata is also nice, creamy yet light.
Review Source:Ok so this place really isn't that great. The service is decent, the food is just ok. The prices are a little expensive for what it is and the location. Â With so many other better mexican restaurants around the area, this place just does not do it 4 me. The seafood is just ok as well.
