Chicago Goodfellas Pizzeria

This is a new pizza place on the East Side but the decor looks dated. There is a pool table in the back and there were a lot of what looked liked linens/dirty laundry next to it. Also, eerily quite when I walked in with only one table dining. Not the first impression I had hoped for. I placed an order for a calzone and it was ready within a few minutes of the stated pick up time. The calzone was drenched in what tasted liked overly salty canned tomato sauce. I unfortunately don't think this place will be here too long unless they step it up. I didn't try the pizza as I'm not a fan of New York style thin crust (I prefer Chicago style thin crust) and based on my first impression I don't think I will be back. Not sure if they serve alcohol but there was a case of Sam Adams near one of the counters and a dining group was drinking them.On the website it doesn't mention if it is BYOB. If it is there is a liquor store next door.

This is another place I saw on Groupon and I was actually excited about going to because of all the great reviews.

I was surprised when I walked in because it was a little bit smaller than I thought but that is not a bad thing.

I say even if you are going to be eating in that you call ahead because it takes them awhile to bring your order up, but it was worth it because the food was fresh!

The hot wings weren't the best although the sauce was amazing...The wings should have been cooked just a little bit longer so they could have a had a little crunch to them.

We ordered a Cheese and Pepperoni Pizza as well as the Al Garbage Pizza thin crust and it was delicious the sauce was flavorful and all the veggies were fresh.

My only complaint was that the people who came in as take out customers were given soup and we had been sitting there and was never offered any and that was hard to see and understand.

We were customers too and we waited just like the people who were taking their food to go the only difference is they were going home and we decided to dine in.

I have to say though the staff even with the over sight was great and I truly enjoyed their establishment and the food.

I will be back but I do hope next time they don't pick and choose who they give something free too.

Upon entering this place I was excited to try their pizza after hearing about it from a friend. The wait for the pizza is pretty long, which I don't mind if it's all for the sake of quality. It was good we ordered some wings as well, although I wasn't a fan of those, the sauce was good but the wings were soggy, and not from the sauce. I like my chicken crispy. They also weren't real wings but wing pieces. When the pizza finally came it smelled delicious, and it tasted just as good. It was well made as well as the ingredients being fresh.

Then we get to the service and experience of it. The service was good but we were the only patrons that ate there. But while my friend and I were there I personally witnessed every single person that came in after us get offered free soup to which they happily accepted while my friend and I got offered nothing. And the only difference I saw between them and ourselves was skin color. And after I brought what happened to their attention the response was we corrected the situation. Which they in fact did not because they had some customers who once tasted the food would've definitely been back, but who will not because of the seemingly racist behavior. Nor will I personally ever request this place to my family, friends, or associates.
