The crowd is a bit older as one Yelp! reviewer posted. The later it gets you get a good mix of ages here.. anywhere from early 20's and up..

It's a super chill place if you just want to relax and get few drinks, shoot some pool and grill your own dinner..

Parking is never an issue and it's really a come as you are place..

Miriam is an awesome host and bartender! Drinks flowed non-stop. This girl was on top of drink orders, suggesting cocktails and shots & mingling in the crowd! Great bar that won't put a dent in your wallet.

This place is a chill spot to kick it late at night. It is cool that such a "hang out" spot like this exists is open till late. It is a bar...but I don't get that vibe when I am here. I got the let's play pool, chill, talk, and just hang out!

It is kind of old looking....It could get boring after about 45 minutes....

fun place. I love the shuffle board. bartenders are friendly and cool. the people are fun and easy going. drinks are cheap. I came here twice in one weekend and for the first time ever...only because it is relaxing, chill, and just a fun time. :)

Friends and I go here sometimes to just chill because it's the closest pub in town. Not bad. Drinks are fairly priced. If you're a young adult, this isn't exactly the best place to go since the crowd is a lot older, but if you have all your friends, you'll have a great time playing darts and billiards!

This is a "cook it yourself" place and a good spot if you enjoy grilling but don't want to bother with clean up afterwards. Pretty simple menu of steaks, burgers, and chicken. They bring you the raw meat and the fixings, you season it, cook it, and devour it. I only saw one (rather large) grill, so this place would be pretty social if it were busy - it wasn't when I came. Best way to describe is as an indoor BBQ.

I always stop in here. I always come in on slow day shifts and the vibe is always pleasant and mellow. Bartender David is always nice.

Good local bar and just added karaoke. The karaoke system is not the best, but maybe in the future they will switch kj's, but it is nice to have that addition to the bar. It is a nice atmosphere and you can even grill your own steak. Good local hang out :)

This bar would be great, minus the terrible company that they use for Kareoke on Tuesday nights.  The main people singing are the two guys hired to provide Kareoke and one bartender.  These guys will actually make bar patrons wait, while they sing songs that they've signed themselves up for.  Unbelievable.  I'm not a singer, and don't hate Kareoke at other bars, but these guys pick the most obscure, terrible 80's songs (I'm typically a fan of all music), you've never heard, and would never want to.  It just sucks.  On a positive note, the bartenders are nice, and the service is great.  Just avoid Tuesday nights.

Good crowd, really friendly, lots of booze for your buck! Bartender knows the regulars and was really friendly and on top of it. First time here and I already made friends with other locals.

A cool concept of grilling your own steak.  However if I wanted to do that, I could stay home, pick out my own meat and do the same thing.  I mean hell, I can turn on my own TV to what I want, listen to my own music, enjoy the conveniences of home, invite friends if I want to and I have cold beer here.  No, you're not invited.

The entire premise is good but crowd is unique and the service is average at best.

The positives is the fact that they do have darts and pool so there is something to keep you entertained while here.

This is my favorite local bar in Rancho Penasquitos. They've always been nice to me, especially during the day. Yes some of us indulge in a drink in the day. But yeah, the crowd is older and they have the regular: pool tables, darts, jukebox, and karaoke so what more can I say? If I need a beer and wanna chill w/ old friends or listen to some stories from others I can find either here.

I have never in my life gone to a bar where the individuals that work there are as rude or downright insane as this place. Went here to grab a quick drink with a few friends visiting from out of town. While I am waiting at the bar to order a drink I am talking with my friend who is from out of town. He has his hands in the pockets of his jacket and is standing completely still. A bartender comes around from the bar to gather glasses and purposely makes violent contact with my friend and nearly knocks him over. When my friend begins to question the activity the bartender gets in his face and makes violent threats. I have never seen a staff member of a bar act this way. Absolutely hands down the worst bar ever. If you maybe want to get assaulted for no reason... be their guest.

I like this bar after Pitchers or if Pitchers is just too darn crowded.

Blah, no happy hour, but eye candy outside....

Cheers...where everyone knows your name, is kinda a true statement here, just observing the interaction between the regulars and the staff. Although they have the same Cheers logo design from the famous Boston bar, it is not a derivative from that company. Oddly, they have a few paraphanila of the Boston branch inside this bar.

This place is definitely a relaxing place, no loud and obtrusive music. You can play whatever you want from the jukebox though. People here seemed dull and listless at times. But don't get me wrong, they do have a pulse, as they migrate to the patio to get their every-15-minute drag of their smokes.

Kinda a hole in the wall place, couple of pool tables, couple of dartboards, couple of video games and an ATM machine. What stands out is a grill right in the middle of the room. Pretty neat I guess, so you can watch them cook up close and personal, or grill your own meat.

They have Karaoke nights here on Sundays and Tuesdays from 9-1am.

No happy hour...but the prices seemed already decent enough:
    Domestic pints $2.75, pitchers $8.25
    Premium pints $3.50, pitchers $11.25
    Wine glasses for $5
    Can of Guiness for $4

Not a whole lot of selection on their liquor inventory, but you can probably still get hammered here on the cheap stuff.

Bad news: Parking here is horrible, there are an excess of 10-minute-only parking that no one uses, that could be better utilized for just regular parking. Tip: park behind the complex, plenty of parking out there.

Goods: Just sit by the patio area or towards the front of the bar. Plenty of hotties coming or leaving the 24 hour fitness right next door.

Other than that, its a decent sports bar, with decent beer prices, and a friendly atmosphere.

Upon closer inspection on another visit here, I realized that this place isn't as cool as I thought. I went on a different night and the crowd was KIND of wack AND the service definitely was not as good. If you want to come here, make sure you come with a good group of friends that can keep you entertained while you are surrounded by interesting folk and average service.

    And that is all.

This place is a bar and then some.  Pool tables, darts boards, internet jukebox, bar video games/poker, and a grill.  Drinks are pretty cheap too.  Pretty chill place.  A bit small but I've never been here when really crowded (not sure if it ever gets that way).  One of those bars you can come to and pretty much always feel welcome or at home.

This place is cool. It's chill. You can make it your own, just bring your crew and play pool, pick songs from the jukebox, poker nights, playing darts, grill your own steak or burger, etc...

They have a small outdoor patio area where you can also chill outside if you like...

The crowd much older but it's wateva, everyone is chill and minds their own business.... if you pick songs then it feels normal, if not, then you can listen to new music you wouldn't usually listen too haha

It a good place to stay low key if you don't want to go far...

After a recent move to the 'burbs, we were itching for an interesting place to grab some eats and drinks.  Enter Cheers.

Cheers is a little watering hole located in the middle of a strip mall in Rancho Penasquitos.  The clientele is mostly middle-aged suburbanites - some who look like they've been at the bar since 6 a.m.  The lighting is dark and the decor is sports-driven.   The walls are adorned with video games, dart boards and a juke box that has a good selection.  If you're looking for a classy night out this is not the place.  It is your proverbial dive bar.

All that said - they have a friendly staff, good drink prices - AND a grill-your-own-food indoor barbecue, which is why we keep going back.

The food is good quality at amazingly low prices.  Scott orders and grills his own filet mignon every time - and the price is less than $9.  It comes with a salad and garlic bread too.  I don't eat steak, but he tells me it is just as good as any filet  you would buy at the store.

I order the veggie skewers (2 for $3) and grill them up with Teriyaki sauce and spices.  The whole meal is delicious and keeps me thinking about it for days after the experience.

Another bonus is that, unlike its do-it-yourself indoor grilling brethren, you don't have to elbow your way in to get a good space at the grill.  We haven't been there once when it was overly crowded.

I am not a fan at all. The place is kind of old and disgusting. Limited things to do while drinking. Bad memories from this place. Been here 3 times and it is was always dead. Horrible bar. Even for this area there are much better bars. Go across the street to pitchers.

This place was just okay.  Nothing too particular to rave about.  It does it's job of being a good ol neighborhood bar in a strip mall.  Not much to ohhh and ahh about in here....just kind of blah....too plain.  I'm into places with some kind of ambiance and this place kind of lacked it...  this is more of your standard issue suburban neighborhood bar.

There is an indoor communal grill set up kind of like Turf Supper Club but all the time I've been here I've never seen it used.  Maybe it doesn't work??

    Drinks = reasonable
    Service = okay

If you're a regular Im sure this place is your thing and you'd fit right in.  I felt misplaced.  This is more a grab a beer and go kind of bar for me... not much reason to hang out unless I came with a group of friends and didn't care where we go as long as there was alcohol.

Place is located next to a 24HR Fitness so if you wanna get your drink on before or after working out you got that option!

Friendly bartenders, lots of locals, usually pretty crowded with a good mix. Not really too many yoked out guido types (see growing up Gotti for further understanding) in here either, which is nice. Karaoke twice a week, two dart boards, two pool tables and pretty good prices make this bar a frequent stop over. One word of advice though is that the cops up here are pretty diligent, and patrol the parking lot constantly. Cab it if you can. I maybe stop up here far too often as the bartenders do in fact know my name.

Only three stars cause theres more stuff I want to go back for, I felt like I didnt get the full experience...

Random bar in a strip mall wayyyy up in North County, I happened upon it.  Drinks were cheap, two pool tables, darts, one of those internet jukeboxes that has every band ever ...was there in the daytime so it was real mellow, couple old war vet types hangin out hitting on the bartender, she took it in stride.

Its got an indoor grill a'la Turf Club , so that could be a good time.  Plus karaoke 2 nights a week which Im always down for.  Next time I'm in North County and bored I wouldn't mind stoppin by again.

    Cheers!

Was here during a bar crawl and as my first time visit.  We watched the Masters here and enduldged in a few cold ones.  The bartender was super pleasant and poured some nice large drinks.  He had a cool accent too.  There were all dudes here, olders ones but it was relaxing.

You can play pool, watch sports and cook your own steaks here.  No Belvedere but I would return on my way to a North County Fair shopping spree.  No Belvedere but there is Grey Goose!

    Holla!

Such a cool little place. Last July after 4 long days at Comic-Con, we decided to stay an extra day in San Diego, not only to bypass the tons of traffic that we would have to sit through all the way back to Long Beach, but because also to celebrate a friends birthday.

After spending a couple of hours out by the pool we all got dressed and headed on over to Cheers for a couple of drinks before we went out to dinner. The place is located in a shopping center filled with a bunch of random businesses, I didn't really pay that much attention when we got there as my mind was on getting something good to drink.

Once inside we went up to the bar, ordered some beers  and discussed what we should to next. There were some pool tables and electronic dart boards to play. We choose the dart boards and played a few games of darts. The instead of this bar was pretty nice, it had a lot of open space in the middle and the layout allowed for people to move around and not feel claustrophobic. The front windows let in a good amount of light and with the light colored walls allowed you to see what was going on.  In the middle of the room stood  barbeque grill, but I didn't see anyone using. I am not sure if they sold food here or not, but I am assuming they do otherwise it had to be left over from a previous business and they didn't/couldn't remove it. I'll have to inquire about it the night time that I am down there.

After a couple of pints of beer and a round or two of darts, we moved over to the tables near the jukebox. At this point we ordered a few stronger drinks and got the music going. The drinks weren't too bad in price and did the job quite nice.

My favorite thing about this place had to be the jukebox. It was one of those electronic touch screen ones that are appearing in more and more places. However every time that I have gone to a bar, they tend have a poor selection of albums to choose from and then they only have the singles to buy. Not this place. I found that I was able to get just about every song that I was looking for and instead of just having one or two singles, they had the entire album to choose from which surprised me and I made sure to take full advantage of that. Unfortunately that ended up being not such a great thing, because I chose the song "Debra" by Beck, I love it, but forgot that it's 13+ minutes long and the second half of the track is just dead silence until that last minute. So that put everything to a stand still and wasn't time we could have been listening to other music. A reminder for next time.

Anyway, I had an enjoyable experience here and would definitely go back next time that I am down there visiting my friends. :)
