Met up with my wife's friend here for lunch. Â I haven't been to Chili for a very long time. Â The coolest thing at this location is they have a mini computer at each table. Â Here, you can see their specialty and Pay your check. Â I find that it's very convenience to be able to pay for your check without flagging down the waitress/waiter for the bill. Â How cool is that?
As for the food, well, it's Chili. Â I ordered the ribs and my wife ordered the fajitas. Â Both are decent and did their job on our empty stomach before the Big Game. Â Dont' want to sound like a snob but I prefer eating at local restaurants that aren't national chains when I travel.
Sigh...I'm a fan. A legitimate FAN of a huge chain. The southwest egg rolls stole my heart years ago. That's what I eat when I'm there. Before I discovered them, it was chicken crispers with subsituted sides of black beans and corn on the cob. I don't think I've ever had BAD food at any Chili's, anywhere. My partner has too much affection for their molten cake erupting with chocolate and ice cream. That's good too. Even the servers are, usually, quite good. Friendly with less of the chain restaurant faux-bubbly-ness and a little more personality. At this particular Chili's, I was actually impressed with our server's knowledge of what was in certain items. He seemed to have eaten his way through most of the menu.
Review Source:I have a confession (queue Usher song). I love Chili's. Â I love the bottomless chips and salsa, the chicken ranch sandwich, the black bean burger, the french fries, the chicken crispers, the southwest egg rolls, the chicken quesadilla, the chicken tacos, and I can go on and on. Â Chili's never disappoints me. Â I don't go very often, but whenever I have a layover in an airport I seek out the chili's and order the chicken ranch sandwich and a tall beer. Â So good. Â Now they have the 2 for $20 meal, which also makes it very affordable. Â I have always had good service at the specific location I am reviewing and they always serve up my favorite dishes with no issues.
Review Source:Yay for substitutions allowances. Â Instead of dishing out twenty dollars for the grilled shrimp combo I was allowed to substitute grilled for the battered shrimp in the ten or eleven dollar meal and as a special awesome bonus black beans are a side order! Â So black beans and vegetable of the day it was. Â I have to admit I was a little shocked that they served broccoli with shredded carrots, I don't recall ever using or seeing shredded carrots outside of salads, coleslaw and carrot cake mixes? Â It should be noted Chili's does offer vegetarian burger patties. Â I have had them before many years ago at different Chili's locations and they have been hit or miss but were not talking about those Chili's now are we?! Â I didn't think so.
