I miss Chow so much. It was right by my old apartment, making it really easy to visit, and their french dip sandwich is, seriously, the best I've ever had. Everything we've ever eaten there is great, and they have a fantastic beer selection [I love that they keep Yards Brawler stocked!] They also have take-out beer, amazing desserts, and great specials during football games. We love how low-key it is. It's a hidden gem in Feasterville, and maybe the only gem worth going to. You will not be disappointed!

The redesigned restaurant has a modern atmosphere and design to it, and a pretty large bar area. The food is relatively inexpensive and comparable to most other diners.

They offer a chipped steak cheesesteak, which was surprisingly good!

Gluten free options!  Crab cakes are awesome.

CHOW284 is part of the UPromise Dining Plan, but even if it weren't I'd still come here for some really good food and drink.

The drink menu (especially the beers) is quite extensive and relatively inexpensive.  The food menu is a simple one-page with something for everyone.  The menu even has gluten free items designated.

My family and I shared a nice hummus with fresh vegetables, the mozzarella sticks were 3 nice sized triangles, and my goat cheese with candied nuts/figs with champagne dressing was quite nice (even had the strawberries on top!)  Kids had spaghetti and meatballs off the kid's choices, but it came adult sized.  Wife had a special pasta of the night which was penne with a vodka blush sauce and broccoli and shrimp.  It tasted wonderful.  I had the jambalaya which had a nice amount of heat and enough meat to fill every spoonful.  I wish it had more sausage, though.

With a margarita and a Magic Hat #9, tax and tip, came to $106 for the four of us.  Well worth it.  Service was very good.

Not a big fan of the food, but I am a picky eater. It is a great atmosphere in the restaurant and the bar is very nice as well. Not too big, but not too small, and very clean. It's much better than the previous restaurants that were at this location.

I really like the decor of this place. The bar area is really nice looking and the entire dining room is very spacious. As far as the food goes, they seem to be pretty hit or miss. Their steak and goat cheese flat bread is awesome and probably the most delicious thing on the menu. If you're going here to drink I would recommend it, otherwise more consistent food might be found elsewhere.

My friends were trying to pick a place so I suggested this as a small attempt. We go in not really sure what to expect. The atmosphere was very nice. We were seated pretty quickly and the service was nice. Very clean. The food was delicious. I had the brisket (which we all agreed was the best thing to have), one friend had the CHOW burger (tasty but a bit greasy and huge!) and my other friend had the General CHOW chicken which was okay. We all shared and their mashed potatoes are fantastic. They had an interesting take on calamari but tasty. The dessert was pretty good too. The portions LOOK small but really fill you up!

    Will definitely be returning here!

I am so incredibly sick of chain places and all of their food being the same, salty, disappointments.
That being said, this is not a chain, and their food is not a salty disappointment!
Chow 284 is nice inside, has changing specials, a wide variety of choices, good drinks, and is reasonably priced.
    Give it a try

Clean and modern interior, excellent bar, delicious food.

We stopped in for a drink and dinner. Their appetizers and entrees are homemade and well crafted.  The crab quesadilla is excellent and has a perfect amount of horseradish to give it the perfect "kick." The lobster and shrimp ravioli was also a delicious entree.

They have an excellent beer selection and several signature drinks.

Very nice place. Great beer selection, and they actually print the prices on the beer menu - a rarity.

We were there at lunch time  Food was delicious and served hot. Service was friendly and attentive.

Service is slow and not too friendly. Food is okay at best and I wouldn't go out of my way for it. I left a lousy tip reflective of the lousy service and I won't go back.

Okay, I have to give huge props to Chow284, as they have changed quite a few things to please their guests and I really give them kudos for listening to what it is we want!

First of all, when we walked in, hubby started looking at the menu on the wall, I had already looked on line and knew what I wanted and the hostess/server was standing there with menus in hand waiting to seat us.

We were startled, now not having to pre-order at the desk and she explained, oh that has all changed! There alone, I was loving it! No more rush decisions to order, no more two checks if you decide you would like a cocktail, beer or glass of wine, no more filling your own soda glass. Chow284 is now a full service restaurant!

Their menu has greatly expanded ( they do need to update their web site, but the to go menu does have the full listings of what they serve ). Not only do they have a greater selection of menu items, but you can now substitute any side with your entree! Yay again!

I had a glass of wine from their temperature controlled wine bar, it has to be a one of a kind in Buck's County and hubby had a coke, which they kept full.

We started with the clams caldo, which were totally outstanding and gives a whole new meaning to "steamers". The open clam shells were swimming in the most wonderful, slightly spicy Spanish tomato broth with andouille sausage and whole kernel corn, also served with two thick slices of sourdough bread for dipping, hubby dipped and when the bread and clams were done, I ate quite a few tablespoons of the delicious broth, it was almost like a tortilla soup!

We also had the crab and pepper jack cheese quesadilla, which was quite good, it is served different than what most of us are used to, instead of the salsa, sour cream, guacamole route, they serve it with a horseradish aioli and I loved the inventive combo, the flavors married well.

I did notice under other items, they do have chunky avocado, salsa Verde, Pico de gallo and sour cream, so these are available, possibly an up charge, but I was thrilled with the aioli. Here is where I should mention how accommodating they are, really sincere about pleasing you.

For instance, I was given the choice, without asking, if I wanted the side that came with my meal or I wanted to switch it. Hubby was originally interested in the sausage, peppers and onion flat bread, but wanted the andouille sausage instead of the turkey sausage and they had no problem with that.

With sandwiches and flatbreads come spicy house made potato chips and your choice of soup or salad! Hubby had the French onion soup, which was very good, a nice rich beef broth and perfectly balanced flavor.

He changed his mind from the sausage flatbread to a toasted tavern ham with gruyere cheese and arugula sandwich, served with a side of an awesome whole grain mustard. I chose the "prime braised brisket", the reason I put that in quotation is because it was more like a pot roast to me?

I love brisket, I love a good pot roast and this was fork tender, a huge piece of meat, full of flavor, covered in a demi glaze type of beef gravy, very delicious, as I type this I'm smiling because I still have half of it in my refrigerator to eat later. I opted for the hand cut fries, as my side and asked for more of the gravy to dip them in, hello yum!

I did come home and google the difference between brisket and pot roast, I mean I thought I knew the difference, but when you search it, it's the same cut of meat, it's just in how you prepare it, I give a thumbs up for an outstanding piece of meat, however you want to describe it.

Chow284 is a far cry from the old Wing Walker Pub, it's so fresh and clean, ultra chic decor, a gorgeous circular bar, I love the simple yet elegant flower arrangements that actually billow as the ice cold and I do mean ice cold air is running. Hubby was enjoying the chill air, but I was freezing, although I had been stung by a nasty yellow jacket the day before and my arm and hand was swollen enough to make Popeye look like a wimp, so I wasn't at my best and possibly feeling the cold more than usual.

Seems they are community driven, offering a Phillies happy hour, 284 happy hour, Texas Hold'em poker, quizzo, wine pairings, ladies night, beer expos and charity events. They also have live music. Scott and Stephanie were very gracious and aimed to please all of the guests.

Bottom line, if you tried it once and was not satisfied with their setup or the prior reviews kept you from checking them out, do indeed, pay a visit to Chow284, It is a much more comfortable dining experience, I think you'll be quite pleased. I can't wait to go back and I'm still wanting to try their spicy jambalaya.

Really I think Chow deserves 3 3/4 stars (Star Search anyone). I ordered the crab cakes w/ steamed broccoli. I enjoyed the crab, loved the grain mustard aioli. The broccoli is fine, next time I'll order more aioli to dip it in. My server was very nice and attentive. I'm a chatty gal so I wound up at the bar getting to know the other girls working there. I live nearby and look forward to my next visit. I went for lunch but they have happy hour and that particular night they were having a wine tasting. Definitely worth a try, I hope they do well.
