We had breakfast only - the omelets were the thin rolled up kind with too much milk in the eggs so they lacked flavor. The hash browns (larger portion than the omelet) were the thin shredded kind and were crispy on the outside and not at all greasy.
Wheat Toast was a light brown with no grains visible -very low cost and low flavor.
Bathrooms were very clean however and the staff was nice.
Safe place if you must stop in this area but no culinary excitement here.
Christo's food isn't terrible -- it's generally standard Midwestern/Greek-run diner food with some tasty exceptions here and there. In general, I support local businesses and won't add Yelp comments if they're average because in a small town, generally rural area, that's about the norm and not worth criticizing or spending much time thinking about. In addition, we generally choose more vegetarian-friendly restaurants and therefore don't stop in at this particular spot very often.
What prompts this comment, however, is service. Sure, in the occasional previous visit service was always pretty slow, but again, around here that's just the norm, not worth worrying about. We're not uptight on that. Tonight, however, we stopped in when the restaurant wasn't very busy, after the dinner hour, just before 9pm. After being seated, we waited more than 15 minutes and were never approached by wait staff, not even for a drink order. We've been in super-busy restaurants where wait staff at least brought water, warned us they were busy, but then still managed to get back fairly soon. In this case, no one brought water, much less took drink orders. At one point, my wife noticed that the owner of the restaurant (who had seated us) walked right by to go fiddle around with chairs in an empty banquet room. Just a couple glasses of water and a little attention would have been enough, but nothing, even when wait staff was serving food at a nearby table...so after more than 15 minutes of nothing, we decided we needed water and food more than fulfilling our curiosity on just how long we might have to wait, and we split. We're not the sort of people to say we'll never go back, but we certainly won't be back for a long time.
