Some of their items are good, while others are just so so. They now have a brunch buffet on Sat. and Sundays for $5.99. Items included eggs, bacon, sausage, huevos rancheros, and biscuits and milk gravy. An iced tea is included. They try to do a good job, but the food is just so so and kind of bland. However, with their salsa station with 20 kinds of topping, you can spice up your breakfast any way you like. This is an all you can eat buffet, so I'd highly recommend it. Food isn't that hot because they have issues with the buffet trays being heated with sterno gas containers. I would recommend this buffet for an occasional pig out.
Review Source:This is my first not so great review. Â They do a great job for happy hours for groups, but the food is adequate at best. Â The salsa was runny and maybe out of a bottle and b'fast tacos were OK but dinner meats didn't have much taste. Â I will try again in a few months if they are still here, but my first few trips, don't make we want to return.
Review Source:After realizing this was more a fast-food place than a restaurant, we weren't expecting much.
The salsa bar was the first nice surprise. Habanero salsa had great flavor, needed a little more heat. The salsa arbol was excellent. Salsa verde was good, but very typical.
For the appetizer, we had the queso fundido - not only good but much less grease than what I'm used to.
My wife had the enchiladas verdes - also good.
I had the carne guisada and the gringa al pastor - the gringa al pastor was my favorite.
Atmosphere isn't great - it's a fast food joint. But prices were reasonable and the food was good and fresh.
We've been back a couple of times since then. Always good, always fresh.
I was born and raised in Mexico, so I have an idea of what Mexican food should look like. It is not fried stuff hidden under a pound of shredded cheddar cheese. That's Tex-Mex. Which is very tasty too, but the flavor and style is very different.
Cielito has actual Mexican food, it's fresh, it's not overpriced (in fact, it's cheap), and they have good coffee. They have actual salsas, not jalapeño-based purees or mashed tomatoes.  They have machacado. And they also have a few Tex-Mex dishes, to cater for everyone's palate.
They also have a drive-thru, but the staff is so nice and attentive that it makes you want to go in and sit down.
I strongly recommend the Train Wreck.
Food here is not your standard Mexican fast food although they still have some usual favs. The carnitas, adobada, and tortas are good. Try the avocado salsa with the aforementioned choices and you won't be disappointed. They have always been courteous and clean. Drive-thru is a plus for good food on the go.
Review Source:I've been always curious to see what this place was like ever since it got built, so we went there a little over a week ago. The inside does look like a fast food restaurant especially with a drive-thru there too. Â As any Mexican restaurant, we were served chips while waiting for our food, and the chips were good not the best. I had the cheese enchiladas and was pretty pleased with the plate. I thought the enchiladas, along with the rice and beans, were pretty good. I wouldn't mind coming here again and try their breakfast tacos next time.
Review Source:Won't go there again. Â Took their coupon for a free entree if you buy another entree and 2 drinks. Â Menu was limited. Â We would have tried the fajitas, but they were a special for the day, so they wouldn't honor the coupon. Â I would have tried the quesadilla, but that was an appetizer ... not an entree, so strike 2.
Threw my coupon away and went around the corner to El Jalisco. Â Used their coupon from the same magazine and had a GREAT lunch.
Guess Cielito Station isn't interested in gaining new customers or getting people to try their food and coming back.
I won't be back.
We went for breakfast just after they opened and were very disappointed. Â Myhusband had Huevos rancheros with his eggs over medium. Â I am not sure how, but his eggs were completely burnt on the bottom and raw on the top. Â His potatoes were cold even right as the plate came out of the kitchen. Â I ordered chilaquiles and the taste was actually good but the chips were very soggy which made it hard for me to eat.
We got the impression that they are still working out the bugs.... Â We will definately go back after a couple months and try them for dinner. Â It wil take a few successful trips before I try them at breakfast itme again. Â There are just too many good places around there that I can eat at knowing it will be good.
This is a new Mexican restaurant in Cibolo, located in between two other very good Mexican restaurants. It is a combination of a fast food restaurant (order at the counter, get your own drinks and salsas) and a sit down restaurant. It also has a drive thru.
The inside is nicely designed and decorated. They make sure you are able to see their tortilla maker up front.
We ordered the special which was 2 cheese enchiladas, rice, refried beans, a taco and 2 tortillas for $5.99. Â For mid-afternoon with few customers and an abundance of employees, it took a long time to get our food and when it did arrive, they forgot a taco on my wife's plate.
The cheese enchiladas were very good and I was very pleased. Unfortunately, the meal went down hill from that point. The refried beans had a decent taste but were either overheated or microwaved because they had a hard crust on the top. The rice was unremarkable - what you'd expect from a box. The taco had a good flavor but the shell had way too much grease and wasn't crunchy. I had high hopes for the flour tortillas. When I unwrapped the foil, the tortillas were nice and hot but unfortunately, they were way overcooked, and were almost dark brown. Both tortillas were almost crunchy - a big disappointment.
On a positive note, their salsa bar has 16 different varieties. We tried the 'table salsa' the pico and the green chile, all of which were very good.
We'll give it another shot (during a busier hour) before writing it off.
