Subpar bar grub in a dingy, dimly lit dining room. Â We started with the Philly Cheesesteak wontons, then had the bacon cheeseburger (ordered medium but came mid-rare) with onion rings (obviously frozen then fried with more batter than onion) and shepherd's pie. Â The latter was a small portion that was salty with undercooked crunchy carrot pieces inside. Â We used the $20 for $40 Yelp voucher, but even the discount didn't make up for the lackluster meal.
Review Source:Great neighborhood bar. Â Bartenders really nice! Â Had a band play when I was there. and they were great! Â the johnny wings are definitely one of my favorites. Â When I went there a different time I checked in on Yelp and was able to use $20 for $40 Deal! Â I will definitely be back soon!
Review Source:Great hang out spot. Went on a night that wasn't packed at all, had great service, hung out by the pool table, and the drinks were strong and delicious.
I believe we ordered the nachos, big plate, lots of cheesey gooey goodness on it.
Definitely felt like one of those places on a tv show where you can kick back and relax with a bunch of friends over a few drinks.
A friend of mine played here today and it went pretty well. Â The place is pretty big and has a nice "beer garden" in the back, where bands usually perform. Â The bartender was alright, but was more concerned about her phone than my drinks. Â I ordered the nachos, which arrived really fast and were actually not bad. Â However, my check took forever to come. Â I think this place has a lot of potential. Â I will definitely check it out again.
Review Source:I went to cj Wellington's for a barcraft event they had. I had an absolutely great time at the event and was psyched that there was one so close to where I live.
Before going there I made sure to check yelp to read reviews. Although the reviews weren't that great my experience there was good. I bought the $20 for $40 deal they have before heading out. I was not disappointed in the value of this deal. Â My friend and I enjoyed 4 beers, 3 margaritas, 1 coke, and an order of cheese fries, and we still only spent $39 dollars. Â The cheese fries, btw, were delicious.
The staff there was very friendly and welcoming of all is nerds. Â I will say this though. When I got there I showed my yelp deal without issue, but upon leaving there was a new bartender that came in shift. He was not aware of how the deal works and so he tried to change me double. Aside from that it was hard to get his attention as well as he seemed more concerned with the bar regulars.
Overall I liked my experience and look forward to attending more barcrafts there.
Went here for a work happy hour because the guys were craving the wings. Apparently they are awesome, but I don't eat meat on a bone so I can't review them. Â The happy hour is a good deal with 2fers. The bartender actually gives a little shot cup for your "token" as your buy back. So anyone could really use it for any drink. There were some free appetizers for Happy hour too.
We ordered some appetizers for our table. Pretty basic frozen then fried appetizers. Â As an I Irish girl, I will say I was highly impressed with the Corned beef sushi. Creative idea to have corned beef, and potato wrapped in cabbage to look like sushi. And it tasted great too! Â That would be the only thing I would come back for though. Wasnt impressed by any of the other food. And beer, you can get anywhere.
Back when i lived on Long Island, CJ's was my back up plan. Croxley's too full? Whoops, sup CJs? Random night that i need to gripe to my best friend over a beer? Sup CJs?
I wont lie. Sometimes i walk in, and the bar looks like a page out of my high school yearbook, and i turn right around and want to go elsewhere. Very town bar.
I have had alot of drunken times at CJs. Â The back area is pretty cool during the summer, and convenient for those of us who are compelled to spark a cig after a few drinks. Good looks on the heating lamps, too. I feel like you guys really care about us smokers. Also, if youre like me and tend to irish exit on friends, the back area is awesome for slipping out unannounced.
I think maybe once or twice i have had food there. Wings are pretty good, as well as those corn fritter things. I may have probably gotten drunky food there more often, but it seems the kitchen is closed every time i go. Who knows.
This place has great bar food and happy hour drinks- although it can get pretty young in here, especially later at night.
They have darts and a pretty lively pool table and the crowd is all very decent. Â There is also karaoke at times and every now and then a band plays there.
There is a small outdoor "beer garden" that is great in the summer (obviously). Â There is also a dining room of sorts where you can sit and order. Â
I always have fun in here!
