Definitely a dive bar (nothing wrong with that) and they seem to great relationships with their customers.
Their happy hour prices were extremely reasonable. My concern is during football or sports seasons they don't have enough TV's for the masses.
I'll go back for another happy hour and give it a shot (literally)!
A Groupon lured us in, and the service and food will bring us back. Â A cheery hello from the bartender, reminiscent of the TV bar Cheers, welcomed us at the door. Â Jassmeen our bartender/waiter was engaging and provided us great service. Â She recommended the grilled salmon, available cajun or lightly seasoned - both versions were yummy. Â The menu has a few interesting twists on it, unlike cookie-cutter chain restaurants. Â The bar area is raised and separated from the area with booths and tables which would be perfect for a weeknight family meal. Â We enjoyed chatting with Cliff the owner and felt like part of the family when we left. Â
This local neighborhood bar had just a handful of customers on a snowy Wednesday night. Â "Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got. Â
Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot". Â Take Cheers' advice, support a local business and stop in "where everybody knows your name".
I purchased a voucher for this bar a few months ago. Walked in to use it and the moment I walked it I realized that this is a more inclusive type of bar. Everyone there was sitting or standing around the bar and the seats were completely empty. Â I stood by the bar, feeling a little akward because everyone there, including the bartender, just kind of looked at my friend and me kind of weird and ignored us. I stood near the bar with everyone else waiting to order a drink for about 3 very uncomfortable minutes and walked out. The bartender looked at me a few times but was so engrossed in his conversation that he never bothered to come over. I've lived in Parker for 12 years, and even though I can't say anything about what they serve, I can certainly say this is definitely the least welcoming bar in town. No wonder they're slow...
Review Source:If I could a negative star, I would. The bar manager, Mac, is disrespectful . The staff is great, owner is awesome. I don't go to a bar to hear Parker's drama, and bar-tending managers talk about customers and his employees with a negative condescending attitude, as well as other clients. Great place!...Just go when Mac is not working!
Review Source:We went to Clavins on a Saturday for a quick dinner. We sat at the bar and was helped by Brent. Let me just start out by saying Brent was nice, personable, funny and helpful. We ordered the open-faced turkey sandwich ( comforting and yummy, just like mom made), Mild Wings (Also really good and cant wait to try the other flavors), and the chicken and sausage hero ( boyfriend was really pleased with this and said he would order it again). Â Great job on the food and the prices were more than reasonable.
I loved that there were things to do here, darts, arcade games and Foosball.
Second thing that I love, they have tons of specials all week. Wednesday they do $3 martinis, Saturday and Sunday mornings they do $10 bottomless mimosas, and plenty of other specials that I forgot.
Bottom line.....Clavins is a great local bar that we will be coming back to. I would recommend this to any of my neighbors and friends.
I have been to this bar in all previous incarnations over the last 10 years. Â It still cannot seem to shake the "Irish Pub" theme, but it is much more subtle now than over the last several years. Â I picked up an Amazon/Living Social $20 for $10 deal last week. Â We stopped by to try it out. Â The $20 almost covered 5 good draft beers (Stella, Longboard, and Harp). Â Decent prices . . . and this was not even during happy hour. Â We did not try the food on this occasion, but the folks next to us had good things to say about the wings, and the sausage with peppers sandwich special was only $3.99 (which is very affordable).
So, this place is a basic neighborhood bar, and yes, it has the almost obligatory sports motif. Â But, the customers and staff seemed friendly. Â The beer was nice and cold. Â At the far end of the main room (where previous owners had a small stage) they have 2x4 "Jenga" (like 1Up has in downtown Denver) and a beer pong table. Â In the other corner, you will find free darts.
I am definitely coming back to try the food, as I looked at the menu, and there is nothing on it over $8.99. Â The prices seem to be $2 to $3 less than what you might expect to pay.
I also noticed that http://restaurant.com is offering discounted gift certificates to Clavin's. Â $25 for $10, etc. (not valid during Happy Hour)

The hot-hot wings are my thing! Â It's an easy walk from my house so I like coming in and drinking with my Cottonwood buddies. Â Business is a little slow right now on account of the fact that Clavin's is new and the previous bar owner destroyed the reputation of this location. Â I recommend coming in and making this place one filled with good times! Â The new owner Cliff is great, he is very genuine and down to earth.
I will dispute the sports bar thing... Â Yeah, sports are usually on because nobody watches cartoons when they are at the bar. Â Clavin's is more like a public house, everyone is welcome.
The staff is great. Â I usually have to ask them to stop serving me drinks, solid move!
My one gripe is that it is a little bright inside.. after all, if I'm going to have a shot with the ladies, I prefer my face hidden a little;)
Clavin's will totally get that fifth star once business picks up! Â I have confidence in Clavin's!!
I'll try this place again when the wings are on "football special" prices. Â For happy hour getting 10 wings for $7 is steep. Â We had a few $2 beers to make up for it. Â Staff was friendly, had a great conversation with them about the sauces on the wings. Â My main issues with this place are: 1, a lack of customers; 2, no obvious reason to come in; 3, no discount for apps during happy hour; 4, I guess I need to try the "football special" wings where they are $3 for 10 wings. Â I think there were just 3 small TVs though so, it's not exactly a sports bar. Â I had a http://restaurant.com coupon to make it very worth our money. Â While a friend and I were there for happy hour, after work on Friday, there was only one other customer.
