My friend and I have been to this place a couple of times for a girls' night out. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. The staff and crowd are really friendly. The decor inside is beautiful, with nice lighting. Â You feel like you found a nice secret spot. We seen the drag show which is funny and entertaining. It has a nice size dance floor, and the DJ knows his audience. $3 drink specials are tasty, and a decent size beer on tap is only $4. The bathrooms are clean and stocked through the night, a total bonus. So much fun to be had here.

I am always the one to be sure everyone is rightly taken care of in every aspect. The Management, Patrons and Employees. This includes the DJ's and Special Guest. When I read this post about a situation that We didn't pay our entertainment, I thought was crazy. Check it out. Tell the whole story. And others should Hear all facts before backing something that so NOT completely honest. Shame on those DJ'S for lying to everyone before letting everyone know ALL the facts . Letting people carrying on about something they don't know what really happened. I personally approached the Owner about this and asked why this happened. Mr. St John was hired to do what should have been 3 hours, and receive $400 for that set. He only played for 1.5 hours. And he was paid, but only half the amount for the time he played for, making that $200. To post something about a situation that is not true is Ridiculous! What kind of person does something like tell everyone only half the story. I would have back the DJ's completely, anyone who knows me personally would say this, as I will fight for the rights of anyone being miss treated. That's why I ask the owner myself and then saw how crazy lie got everyone so negative. Wow.
Review Source:I like that there's never a cover. This place is pretty dead except for Fridays an Saturdays. Â The drink are excellent priced an there's always parking. Â I kinda like to go when its not happening cuz it'll be like just me an my few friends in charge of the whole place pretty much. Its like the dj an bartender is there just for us. Â It can be completely dead an they'll still act like it's crackin thats kinda what's cool about this place. Â Plenty of space for parking lot drinking too tho. I love the carpet on the ceiling an the disco balls. Â The dance floor is perfect for getting your dance on. It can do without the magazines with dudes hardly wearing anything. Â That's always kinda weird. Â There's a pretty cool patio area too.
Review Source:I've only been here once since they are closed on mondays and it's my wife's only night off. We had a very nice time, the music wasn't too loud, we are beer drinkers and the prices are pretty much the same you'd get anywhere, the atmosphere was nice, not full of the "ghetto" crowd like the bull and a lot bigger and cleaner than the tiki. We were surprised how clean the bathrooms were.. a welcome change for a gay bar! We used to live in Elk Grove so we spent a lot of time at faces in Sac.. this bar would be a smaller scaled down version of faces or badlands, it is classy, which is nice considering it is modesto. My wife has been there about 4 times with groups or coworkers and they all love it, a lot of them are straight and feel very comfortable which is great. We will definitely be going back when we get the time!
Review Source:love this spot! screw tiki and the bull. tiki to snootish, bull to old and dirty. but this place is off the hook. so much going on here! drag shows, friendlier clientele then tiki. feels like u can breathe in here. outdoor smoking area is nice and warm with 2 nice heat lamps. chris, scott, matt, noah and so much more makes u wanna come in and order a drink... just to say hi to them! def my fav gay bar in the central valley!!!
Review Source:My first impression when I walked in was "WOW" What a layout for a Gay Club in Modesto! The interior to the nightclub was impressive, the bar, the lighting and the space! The only question I have is, Why not so many people? Could it be the cover charge (a mere $5) that isn't packing up the place compared to the run down Brave Bull bar? Either way, I personally enjoyed the venue and it's faithful followers at Climax!
Review Source:I moved from the Bay Area to Tracy and hate the commute to the Castro, SF or the "4 corners" in Sac to go to a gay bar/ club. Â I tried this place out last night and was pleasantly surprised. Â The bar's appearance is VERY trendy. Â The bartenders and bouncers were friendly and they had hard Cider on tap. Â The cider is a HUGE plus for me! Â Angry Orchard is my favorite... Â The place was pretty packed by about 1030pm with an assortment of people, it IS Modesto!
Review Source:Climax has become my circle of friend's new spot! It is in its own little area with lots of free parking, newly remodeled, sooo beautiful! Super nice bar, large outdoor smoking area, large dance floor and the absolute BEST drinks!! Not to mention awesome music selection! Especially love Sundays with DJ Essbee. A great place to go on any day of the week! Not to mention no cover on Sundays or until 10:30 on the weekends and only $5 after! Been to other places in Modesto since, but just ended up here after lol. And oh yeah, most of the people in our group are not gay! I think our boyfriends like this place more than we do!! Climax is a great place for EVERYONE, definitely worth checking out!
