We were looking for an after-dinner drink with friends after a great spicy meal at Garifuna Flava Belizan restaurant around the corner on 63rd (which we also recommend), and the super nice bartender suggested this place. Â The other reviewers are all right about the 70s decor -- it's in pristine condition and not to be missed. Â And the curved shape of the bar, coupled with the comfortable naugahyde padded seats, removed any awkwardness in trying to have conversation among four people seated along the bar. Â The bartender was extremely pleasant, informed us about upcoming events and specials. Â To top it all off, Bobby Bland and Al Green on the sound system. Â Can't beat it -- we'll definitely head back there, even though it's a bit of a trek for us.
Review Source:it's been a while since i was last here, received an invite to go on monday night, as a girl in my party said " this is sum hood shit', they are redeemed by $1.50 drinks, anything except for remy and patron. did you hear me $1.50, i had two vodka drinks with double shots for $6 and i was very nice ;). it does get crowded so get there early, i got  there around 9 by time i left there was a line outside. the barmaid told me on tuesdays they have $1.50 beer and $4 long islands on thursday. monday is the best $1.50!!!!!
Review Source:Been a minute since I've been here. Â The sexty sex is the plushiest bar I've ever been to. Â Friendly folks at the classy feeling corner bar. Â Classy cos its totally devoid of liquor posters. Â Nothing but red vinyl and mirrors. Â Stiff drinks and stiffer long islands, free food on sundays ('uh free soul food but sometimes it was chilly dogs?') Â
Recommend for a week night, don't for a friday or saturday unless you know some people from around the way cos it gets a little buck.
Been a few years since I visited this place... despite being listed as "Club 6601", the sign outside calls it the Sexty Sex Lounge. Â Don't let that name fool you- it's at sexty sex 01 S Western silly- nothing too dirty going on inside!
It's just a friendly, mostly black neighborhood corner bar. Â The decor was really something special, in about 1978! Â Orange vinyl and chrome and mirrors everywhere. Â I met friendly folks having a beer or two and not giving the geeky white guy and his friend a hard time at all for playing tourist at their bar. Â Was a good place, with good people- and I got to pretend I was old enough to be drinking in the 70s- beat that!
