stopped in here after YOTI for a late beer and food. i got the "calamari" for there and chicken parmigiana to go... i was unsure if she brought me the right order at first when she brought the "calamari". it looked like waaay over fried mozzarella sticks and onion rings and tasted pretty freaking horrible. they really should take it off their menu or call it something else. The chicken was mediocre at best. but im not thinking that this place is known for their good eats or maybe it was a horrible day for their kitchen. but hey when you are there at 3am, you probably are too drunk to care and just want to eat. staff seemed nice enough though

the only time i see myself coming back here is if im in the area after everything else is closed.

Wow, some of these review are rather brutal.  My story is a little different.  I live 2 minutes away from this place and passed it countless times over a period of several years before I actually gave it a try.  The sign in front of the place say "best burgers in town", and my wife and I used to laugh out loud each time we passed, commenting "how original is that??".   As it turns out, they're not lying!
I tried this place for the first time in March, 2012, and have been coming back ever since.  My first visit I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised!  If you're looking for a good, neighborhood joint where everyone knows your name, this is the place to be..  The food is better than average (for bar food)  they have decent sized portions, it's reasonably priced (so are the drinks) and the bartenders are very nice!  The owner, Angelo, has always come around and greeted me since day 1.  Agreed, the bathrooms could use some work but all in all, I look forward to going there at least once a week....so call me crazy!

My wife took our son here Sunday for lunch.  Ordered a turkey burger and got a veggie burger.  Server didn't ask which kind of crust he wanted and so gave him a cracker she described as "kinda like the body of Christ"   instead of the pan pizza she thought was the default pizza based on the menu placement.  The fries were great.  She wants to go back and try it again.  She is a generous and forgiving soul.  Lucky for me.

Crave begs me to hate it.

Every time I go in things have changed. No American Express, $10 Minimum credit card purchase, no it's $15, no it's $20. No thanks.

The place is filthy and you go home smelling like smoke even though you've been sitting inside the whole night. The owner doesn't seem to really care about customer service only finding ways to irritate the patrons and his workers. I'm the only person in the bar and you're seriously not going to let me change the channel?

Normally I would give a shit hole like this one star but I actually like the bartenders and wait staff. They're fun people and as long as you're not there past 11PM they make the experience semi-tolerable. After 11 no one can save you. If you're trying to figure out just what kind of people visit Crave around that time go look up the Waffle House wedding on the internet and it should give you a good idea.

Crave has a special place in my heart. I spent the wee hours of my 21st birthday here. It's the only place in the area that I know that is open until 4. It's also right down the street from my parent's house. = Joy.

It's in one of those awkward retail locations where nothing really sticks, but this has been around for 10+ years now and I'm pretty impressed. It's nothing fancy, nothing amazing, but the pizza was great the last time I had it, the drinks flow like no body's business, and there are different seating areas that break up the space.

Whenever we are done with some bar or restaurant and it's kind of late, we look at each other and say, "Crave?" even if we're not in AH. It definitely is awesome.

My wife, son (6 years old) and I visited The Crave during Lent to try their fish fry and boy were we disappointed!  When we walked in, everyone turned and stared, it didn't feel like a very family friendly type of place.  We were greeted by the server and sat down quickly.  The fish was hot, but mediocre at best and my son's grilled cheese had mold on the bread!  We told the server and he apologized and took it back to the kitchen immediately.  We definitely weren't expecting to have to pay for his kid's meal, but the waiter said the owner is a real SOB about giving free food, so he took off our 2 diet cokes instead.  The ONLY time the owner came by our table was when we were walking out the door and all he said was, "We'll make it up next time and give him a free grilled cheese."  What?!?!?!  Does he really think there will be a "next time"?!?!?

Here's a FREE lesson in customer service:  Take care of your customers, keep them happy and they'll be back.  I guarantee you, with the terrible management at this place, I'll NEVER be back!!!

Went there to try the Friday Night Fish Fry.

The food was good, and food prices seemed reasonable.  Drink prices are not as reasonable as the food prices, not outrageous, but still a little pricey.

We went around 7PM on a Friday, so it wasn't too loud, but it looks like it has the potential to get quite noisy.

I don't have young children, but I don't think I'd bring them here.

We've been trying the Fish Fry's in the area, and this one is middle of the road.  The fish and cole slaw were good.  Service was good.

The only driveway in is on Rand Rd.  I did't see one on Hintz Road (maybe there was a driveway there, and I didn't see it..

Some other reviews were not good, but I thought Crave was OK.  But I would never bring my Mom here.

This was a stand alone bar on route 14 in Arlington Heights. it has a pool table and plenty of seating. there is one nice spot in corner of bar where you got a perfect view of five screens. Unfortunely, this is about all this decaying old bar has to offer. it is kinda small and the crowd is young and liquored up. there is a reason Arlington heights and Nw burbs don't want many bars in their area. If your in the area your better off going near the train station for a better class of bar. Oh the food was even worse than most bar food.

Crave is the place all of your friends go to at 2am when all of the other bars close.  There's a reason why I won't go in there anymore.  It's dingy and dirty.  I felt like I had to go home and immediately shower after going in there.  The bathroom was nasty, the floors were sticky, the bar was dirty.

Skip it.  Just drive through White Castle and go home instead.

I prefer to check Yelp beforehand to find out if there is something seriously wrong with a business, but the Missus and I were on the road and we took a chance with Crave.  This place is neighborhood-bar-homey and comfortable, our server was friendly, and the burgers and fries were okay but nothing special.  We wondered why there were hardly any other customers in the place.

Later, I read the previously-posted reviews about Crave and laughed out loud. But when our credit card bill arrived in the mail and I saw that the restaurant had overcharged us, I wasn't laughing.

    I LOVE these burgers..
Work Burgers - Cheese, Grilled Onion, Mushrooms, and Bacon.

    It is perfect for carry-out!
We have always gotten the food to go - so I think it's a shame that the other folks rating have not had a great experience with the ambiance..
    because the burgers are awesome.

Next time - close your eyes and take it home.

Trashy is a great description for this place, not because it's a dive bar, but the patrons that were there were acting trashy (not necessarily by appearance): rude, loud, and obnoxious.  I was ordering shots for a buddy of mine, and while the bartender was really awesome to me, the guys at the bars were glaring at us, one started giving me crap.

The place just looks like it never gets maintained and just looks like someone house just gutted down to the wooden frames and horribly painted.  Makes you feel worse than in someone's trashed basement.

Prices for beers were mediocre, shots and anything hard was steep, more than I cared to spend here.

We avoided the food since it looked more like there would be some kind of pestilence on it.

I can dig a dive bar but this is worse in all aspects than the dirtiest and nastiest bar I've been to in Chicago.

In short, avoid unless you have a particular taste for this kind of bar.

*edit* I should've noted that last time I've visited was in 2007.  Looking at the current reviews, it's obvious this place totally hasn't changed.  I'd assume that should mean something.

I had to give Crave some credit versus some of the other reviews I see... Food is Ok (they serve from 11am til 3am I believe so), service is Good, Music is jukebox or dj & they have some games you can play there. It can get really crowded there on Wednesdays Fridays and Saturdays and can cause some problems between some of the customers.
Crave is a 4am bar open all holidays 365 days out of the year, so don't expect things to be too nice. It's the suburbs, not the city, so people act differently around 3 or 4 am if you know what I mean.
It's a fun place if you are younger & there are alot of regulars who come in all the time.

Have you ever heard the phrase "Nothing good ever happens after 2 a.m."? Well, that must have started after someone spent the night at Crave. Since the Slice of Chicago closed, this has been the only after hours bar in the area. I can only say from personal experience that I've never woken up the next day and said to myself "Oh man, going to Crave was such a good idea!". If you go before 10, it's decent but after that you're on your own.

this place is your typical divey sports bar.  to be honest though there aren't enough tv's in the 'joynt' to label it a sports bar. a lot of people seem to have a problem with the owner but i have never had a run in with him. maybe because he is greek and he can sense my greekness, like a sixth sense.   and in full disclosure i usually only frequented this place from the hours of 1am until 4am... so if that tells you anything... nevertheless the fact that it is open until 4 am gives it a star.

the only reeeaaallll reasons to come to crave bar and food joynt however are two of the servers: linda and jessica. they rock. and without them this place would have one star. straight up.

This place is ghetto as shit! Considering it's not in too awfully bad of an area, it is not safe to be here after dark. I've heard stories about people getting beatup outside here, and when I went (before I knew all of this), there were some groups of guys in the parking lot who looked like they were ready to give some gangsta lovin. Very sketchy, very seedy. Yikes.

Really nothing memorable about this place, except for the bartender trying to tell some really really bad jokes, and not being personable at all. Also, I think they had one of those crane machines only you could catch lobsters in it instead of stuffed animals. I'd say they aren't doing so hot if that's what I remember most about this place. Don't go. Period.

I've had better experiences than the other reviewers, but it's still a dive. Food is nothing special, but it's fine for bar food.

Contrary to a few of the reviews, I've actually had a very friendly bartender a few times.

The clientelle is assorted. Friends and I have been hit on by an older trucker who lived with his mom, a pair of guys who didn't speak English and a couple of attractive, intelligent guys. There's young, old, trashy, ghetto and everything in between. A lot of people are regulars -- they come in and call all the bartenders by name.

In my experience, it's pretty quiet until midnight or 1 a.m. I've been told most suburban bars aren't open until 4 a.m., so this is a popular post-2 a.m. destination.

They have a couple of pool tables and some arcade games, along with all the TVs turned to sporting events. Crave gets points for having the most conversation-worthy arcade game I've ever seen... a claw-drop game into a tank of live lobsters!

A nasty, dirty bar with jerk bartenders and trashy clientele.  Kind of ghetto but not in a good way.  People like to fight here, so don't talk shit when on the smoking porch, even if you think you're being funny.  Its not that "hard" of a bar, but inflated egos and ignorance flow freely here.  Combine that with shots of Jame-o and meth and you've got the CRAVE!!!!

*They have Okocim, which is cool.
