Crazy Buffet, Inc.

Okay, I'm a fan of buffets and thrift stores. Read: bargains. And I like vegetables, a lot. Yes, I did see items that I passed on. But, wow, lots of selection here; no problem putting together a good meal at this strip mall location.

Like shopping at a thrift store, I pass on what doesn't please me and focus on what does. I liked that seaweed was available by the sushi and the ginger. I especially like salmon, paid the lunch price ($5.50) and there was some salmon out that did look a little dry. I covered it with a little sauce from another entree and it was fine...

The service was very good. As I finished my plate (I loaded up two, not heavily, because that's my challenge at a buffet--eat only to the 'happy' point, not the "okay, I'm done. Roll me out to my car so I can take a nap," point. If the entrance were popped some I could easily go four stars, three-plus for the food. The decor is a little tired for a date, but okay with a friend who is looking more for a good meal and conversation more than an "impression."

They brought out crab legs while I was there, not included in the lunch price but looked really good. That was the only dinner item not included because I came in at 3:15 and got the lunch price. I was out the door by 4:00 and back to my 18 wheeler with 53 foot trailer that I was able to park in the large parking lot. I'll be back! So very strong 3 stars, raised to 4 for good parking for a large rig.

The selection is decent, but the last 3 times I have went there the food has been average. Their sushi is lacking taste and flare. Their ice cream is good, but I don't go to buffets for desserts.

Their General Tso's Chicken was not spicy at all! the lo mein noodles were hard and tasteless.

Their pepper chicken was very good, as was their egg drop soup. The house chicken was impressive. But I won't be back anytime soon. There are other Chinese buffets in Terre Haute that are much better.

It is not a bad place to eat, but it is not great either.

Not impressed by food at all and the price was pretty high. Gave them two stars because the Soup and Crab Rangoon were good.
