The Crest is a chill spot to go have a beer and just watch sports. I went here for a Lakers game and it wasn't even crowded which is a pro and a con. I love that it wasn't crowded but wish it had a few more people who were into the game as well.

Their selection of beer isn't the best in the world, but also not the worst. There was a girl bartender who was super friendly and always checking up on you (but not in an annoying way). The decor looks like it was just remodeled and there's sports memorabilia here and there and there's a BUNCH of TVS all around the place.

I didn't try the food, but I heard their pizza was super good so next time I go back, I'll try it!

The Crest is NOT a dive! No it isn't!!  No matter what the outside looks like. Just ignore the smoker smack talk in the parking lot and stroll right in!

It's actually kinda nice inside. Exposed brick, wooden bar, I'd guess about 30 flat screens... sounds like an upscale man cave, right? They've got $1 tacos on Tuesday like every other place in this glorious state. These are not great but c'mon, whaddaya want for $1....ground beef,  pretty greasy (but bigger than some other Tues. Taco offerings)... they're also pretty low on flavor until you pour on the salsa which had a decent kick.

The place seemed to be full of hockey fans and every way you turn your head there's a game on, so no need to crane your neck needlessly.

The only downside is that the happy hour specials ONLY include domestic beer... I'm no snob (well okay a little bit I am). Just think the deals could extend across the board since they do have some foreign stuff on tap.

This place is everything I want in a sports bar! Came to watch the Super Bowl, ended up sitting on a pool table and plastic chair :-). They had drink specials for certain stuff, like a quarterback getting sacked, fumbles, etc... So fun! Had a raffle which was cool! Food was cheap. Pizza was thick and worth the $3. The buffalo wings were ok too.

Overall the food and drinks are cheap and a good deal. The crowd was chill and seemed to be a spot for locals! Free parking! Can't wait to watch another sporting event here!!

I went again recently to shoot some pool and check out some bands. They seem to be lightening up on the music part. There were nu-metal bands performing (not exactly my type) but it was cool. I also noticed that the staff were all the same as before the new ownership. It seems to be down-to-earth again, despite the new 'sports bar' decor. The dance floor is still small, but I noticed that it is mostly being taken up by the PA system. I was a little harsh on my first review because I was bothered by the fact that they apologized on their Facebook page for allowing a San Pedro metal band perform one night. I thought that was in poor form. I plan to pick up a pizza sometime soon. If it is still as awesome as before, I will do another update.

Good drinks, good "drunk" grub at a decent price. They need to work on the local entertainment: maybe broaden their musical talent to old school punk/ metal/gothic bands since the crowd seems to be more of that type. Definitely DO NOT bring hip-hop or DJ's into this borderline Harbor Gateway/Carson ( shudders) bar! Good to hang on Friday nights but Saturday nights seem to attract a more young and aggressive crowd.

We showed up @ 9:30 christmas eve to celebrate a birthday and were told that they were going to be closing in 20min's. Even though I called around 5 to see when they closed and they said the earliest was 12mid. It was apparent that they just didn't want any new customers since they had there little click/ comfy crowd of 15 or so. All's well we went down the road and spent our money @ another bar thanks for closing early!!!

I haven't been to The Crest in years.  I came here with a group of co-workers for lunch, and a few in the group come here on a regular basis.  I noticed that they remodeled it somewhat since my last visit with a lot of flat screens throughout the bar and eating area.
The menu mainly consists of pizzas, calzones, and hot and cold sandwiches.  I ordered the meatball sandwich with fries.  The meatballs were okay, definitely had a much better meatball.  The Crest is known for the bread that they use on their sandwiches.  The bread did make the sandwich for sure.  The fries are thick cut steak fries, which were good.  The calzones, which several of my co-workers ordered looked good.  When I come back here in a few years, I'll oder the calzone.
We did get a discount on the entire bill since the company I work for gets a discount at the Crest.  But since our party was over 8 people we had an automatic 18% tip added to the bill.  If you're looking for standard bar food grub at a sports dive bar, The Crest is your place.

Lots of things have changed about this place.... live band on Thursdays makes it very difficult to converse. The crowd has gotten a bit younger and a bit more 'UFC'-ish. Kitchen seems to close earlier than before.

I'm finding myself here less than before.

Went there yesterday for a late lunch.  Place was crowed for the football games.  Tons of t.v.s. Pretty cool.  I've been wanting to come here for a long time, and just never got around to it.  Glad I did;  ran into an old friend.  It's a neighborhood sports bar, very casual and friendly.  Staff very pleasant and attentive.  I was disappointed in the food however,  I ordered the wings and there was something not right with the chicken. It wasn't bad, just didn't taste right.  Could have been cooked a little longer too.  The buffalo sauce was awesome though...best I've had in a long time. Not your typical Frank's sauce...it had spices in it.  Very yummy. My son had the pastrami sandwich. Again, not great for the price.  The fries needed to be crisper too.   Maybe because they were so busy the preparation was rushed.

I will go back again as it looks like a fun place to hang out for a while.  Pool tables, really good happy hour prices.  That seems like the best value.  I will give it another go!

Excellent lunch spot.  This place consistently delivers.  Great fresh-baked pizza style sandwich bread/roll.  Great lunch specials.  Good, friendly, efficient wait staff (waitresses are pretty cute too!).  This place is easily a $100/month habit for me.

Took me awhile to ever go in the place, because the outside wasn't very appealing. But, the inside is a different story, pretty nice for a neighborhood bar, TV screens everywhere, and 4 pool tables. This place is awesome, because the happy hour crowd are all locals, which makes it more interesting. Seems like everyone knows anyone and the bartenders. Plus, the happy hour makes it all that much affordable.

We came here to watch the EuroCup finals yesterday. We were specifically looking for a place where we knew we could watch the game, this bar satisfied that expectation. This review is for lunchtime, I'm sure it's different for dinner. There were no waitresses during lunchttime, you order at the bar and then the food is brought to you. We got the garlic knots as recommended and two sandwiches (french dip and chicken parmesan). The chicken parmesan was great, french dip was okay. The garlic knots were tasty but be warned! There was at least half a stick of butter melted on top that you could see. We also ordered a guiness and a soda, price was just right at $32.

There were multiple flat screens on that were showing the game. The place is literally lined with flat screens, actually was pretty impressive.

Our new UFC spot. Buffalo Wild Wings can kiss my arse. And your little wings too.

    Beer: Cold.

Bar Food: Awesome. Had the pizza (salami, sausage, jalapeños). Not a place to be a food snob. It's a bar. C'mon.

Crowd: Chill. Even ran into an old friend. Can't beat a reunion!

Conclusion: Cold Beer + Bar Food + Chill Crowd + Cheap Pool + $5 UFC Cover + Live Music = New spot to watch the fights. Simple as that.

    Cheers Yelpers & Yelpettes.

Think I found my new Happy Hour spot!!!  Came here on a Saturday night to watch my buddy and his band play.  Ended up arriving early to grab some grub and was pretty impressed but the amount of Flat Screens they have with various games.  They were promoting UFC and boxing and I've been getting tired of going to Buffalo Wild Wings lately.

I ended up chowing down on the French Dip and I have to say their home baked bread is kind of interesting.  I'm not sure yet if one my over but it was an experience.  Also love a bar that has Fat Tire on tap.

My coworkers and I desperately needed a new happy hour location. Well, me being one to love proximity, thought this would be a great place because we could walk from work. Well I was right...are you surprised? I will list all that I loved about this place...

    1) Tons of seating to accommodate even the largest, and ahem, roudiest of crowds

    2) $2 well drinks, music to this vodka soda loving gal's ears

    3) Pizza! Yummmy

    4) PB & J knots. OMG words cannot describe the wonderfulness of this! I was skeptical too, don't worry. I was pretty much forced into trying and afterwards I had to push the plate away because I was literally stuffing my face. Whoopsy!

    5) If you happen to stay past happy hour the drinks and food are still very affordable!

Overall a stand out for happy hour. Will be back, that I promise :)

The Crest is located in old Torrance and has red lit lettering out front.

This is basically my go-to place in Torrance to go watch sports. It's less crowded than Buffalo Wild Wings, so I don't have to worry about going to the place an hour early to make sure I could get a seat there for the game.

There are booths with individual screens. There's also more sitting areas surrounded by flat screen that play all different kinds of games. There's a stage where a lot of cover bands play on the weekends. They have karaoke nights as well, but I haven't been there for that. There's a bar area as well as pool tables.

They have a happy hour before 7 pm which has pretty cheap food. Pizza slices for about $1.50 are my favorite. The burgers are cheap, but they're not good. The wings are okay too. They come in teriyaki, buffalo, and bbq and they're 50 cents per wing with a 6 wing minimum. Well drinks are $2. Domestic draft beers are $2 and bottles are $2.50. Also if you get food during happy hour, you get a game of pool for free! I love happy hour!

Unfortunately their happy hour doesn't apply to "special events," which includes Sunday Night Football. So that kind of sucks...

Their regular food is better than their happy hour food. They have a basket of steak fries for $3.50 which is a pretty good deal. Watch out because they're pretty hot! Their onion rings are good. Their sandwiches were good. Never tried their burgers and pizza pans. I tried their calzone last time. That wasn't worth getting.

    Other notes:
    - They have PBR cans for cheap at night. I think it's $1.50 before 9, $2 before 9:30, $2.50 before $10. Something like that.
    - If Michele's there, try the Michele shot. It's strong but delicious. There's some Southern Comfort, pineapple juice, and other delicious alcohol-ness in it!
    - Their drinks are pretty strong. My whiskey sour was really good and my friends usually get their AMFs, which are really strong.

    Drinks,
    lively crowds,

One of my regular lunch spots. Why? Well..

They have a CHEESY pizza that is better than most pizzas that you can get at pizza places. Did I mention it was cheesy?

Lunch time *ahem* drinks at a decent price. I know I'm not the only one that does this.

A game of pool for $0.75 or free during happy hour when you buy a drink. 3 pool tables.

I've only been here during lunch but I know they have live bands on Friday and Saturday, lots of TVs for sports, and karaoke on Sunday. But I must warn you this is a dive bar with unattractive old men. So it's not a place to pick up.

Super cool bar! Loved the ambiance, Owner was awesome. Gave us some sample testings on potential menu items, always a plus!

Only two things I think this bar could use would be
    A. Better surround sound system
    B. Better service

I can deal without the first if the second was on point. Granted when we went, it was NFL playoff's and packed! To be expected at a sports bar right? However for the amount of patrons, having only the owner making drinks behind the bar (help arrived later) and one server on the floor (again help arrived much later & the 2nd server was on it!), made the wait between drinks and food SUPER long.

I kinda felt bad for the owner and wanted to whip my hair up and help the service along or at least clear the patrons tables. Just seemed like everything was slowly piling up until someone showed up to bus the tables.

Hopefully my experience was a one time thing and I'll be pleasantly surprised when I go back.

For this a-okay review, here's my list of pros and cons--

    Pros:
    -aaaaamazing garlic knots!!
    - so many tvs that you don't know which one to watch
    - not overly crowded despite it being a big game day
    - food/drink prices are pretty cheap
    - did i mention? to die for garlic knots!

    Cons:
    - sketchy looking from the outside
    - service was on the slower side
    - daily happy hour except for "special events', which apparently the AFC and NFC championship games were... :/
    - +40 crowd
    - buffalo wings were under sauced and onion rings were over battered
    - ate soo many garlic knots that it would keep away Edward Cullen :(

The Crest may have recently revamped itself, but they still have a lot of work to to do to impress is LA girl.

It was a Sunday game day and the bar was pretty busy.  The Crest is perhaps one of the best valued bars in the westside. The Garlic Knots, drink specials, and the bloody Marys were pretty solid for the price. Only $4.50 mimosas (although it comes with ice and a straw in a beer glass). Not too classy, but I'll take $4.50 mimosas anyday.

Another positive was that there were kazillion TVs spaced less than 3 inches apart from each other. It was almost overkill. Almost.

However, there were a few things about the place that was... off.

First of all, service was on the slow side. Our server was nice, but not the friendliest. She was just going through the motions, rather than trying to make us happy.  Secondly, the venue still needs more work done. There were "caution" tapes on one wall, where the drywall was clearly peeling. The restrooms was small, cramped, and didn't look too clean. And finally, the food (while cheap) was mediocre at best. Our group of 7 ordered a variety of items off the menu and the Garlic Knots were the best thing on it. It's hard to go wrong with Garlic Knots though.

The Crest is a decent dive bar to watch the games, despite its imperfections.

So what do you look for in a sports bar?

I know what I look for and I just found it.

    * Great service
    * Good atmosphere
    * Good selection of beers
    * Large number of flatscreen TVs, well-positioned. Dare I say almost too many?
    * Fresh made bread knots (couldn't stop eating them!)

This place is now officially my new sports bar. Out with the old, hello Crest!

I've lived in the area for a long time, and I never gave the Crest a chance. I definitely had some fun here. I went here for the fights and expected it to be a small bar from the look from outside.
The Crest is a fairly spacious sports bar with more then enough HD TVs to watch your favorite sports teams while getting a drink or having some great american food.

3 pool tables, full bar, and full seating.
I went here for the last UFC fight of 2011 and it was one of those nights where you start off your upcoming epic night. Only paid 5 bucks to watch, and they had cheap drinks to get while enjoying yourself. I would definitely recommend the Crest, especially if you're a Torrance local.

    The Crest....

Was a good bar.... Now is a great bar!
Had amazing food.... Still has amazing food!
Had a home-ish feeling.... Still has that warm cozy feeling especially in the winter time!

I love this bar no frills no thrills... Great service and location.

However I wish they would have more Arcade games... Street Fighter or something...
Would be great to hang out after work grab some beers and smash some buttons.

I went to The Crest Sports Bar and Grill for the first time yesterday for the UFC fight, and I was thoroughly impressed.

After showing up late for the fight, and finding a packed house, the staff made an extra effort to get my party of four seated so that we can watch the fight, enjoy a meal, and have some drinks. The great level of service continued throughout the night, as our server was great about anticipating our needs, and making sure that we were taken care of.

The bar  itself is big and has an open floor plan. --Although we didn't play pool this time around, I liked how it had a designated pool table area off to the side. There are tons of TV's everywhere so we were able to catch every moment of action.

The food was really good. I had a Pastrami Sandwich which tasted amazing; they used lean pastrami and the bread that was on the sandwich was good--Per their menu they bake their bread on a daily basis, and the freshness really shows.... Their garlic knots were tasty too!

    The Pros
    -Friendly staff that is responsive.
    -Spacious Location
-Tons of Flat screen TV's everywhere
-Their lean Pastrami Sandwich with their home made bread was AMAZING.

    The Cons
    -None

    Watch me for $20!

Came here to watch a fight and it was $20/person with one drink included.  The place is not too shabby especially because anywhere you sit or stand there will be a television available to watch all to yourself. The food smelled good, but none was purchased. The drinks are reasonably priced and I can't tell you if they are strong b/c I only ordered jack on the rocks and I guess you can only make that one way. Left right after the fight was over, I was pretty bummed that they did not leave the TV's to listen to the post fight interviews. WTH that is important!

What can I say? I like The Crest... never tried it in its previous life.  Only have experienced the new, revamped version.  It's still a dive, but a good one.  Fab domestic beer specials ($2 to $3 per domestic draft) during happy hour and apps specials... they have great chicken wings and pizza.  The bartender is fast, friendly and efficient. Colorful locals abound.
I've also eaten in their booths during a band, and the food and service was good, band was good.  The bar area and pool tables area can get really crowded, but the service remains friendly.  Definitely NOT the scary place I once thought it was... I look forward to coming here after work to relax and watch games.  Good times.  Parking on the street or in adjacent lot.  Pretty cool, Crest!

The Crest has been one of our regular lunch spots for more than 10 years because the food is very good, but it has always been kind of a run-down dive.  Until this year, that is.

The bar was sold recently, and the new owners have dumped a metric ton of cash into the facility.  This includes new floors, pub tables and benches, sports-themed art, a kick-ass sound system and 60 flat screens with enough cable to reach the moon and back.  It was time for these changes, and it makes The Crest a lot more inviting.

Thank god they did not change the food, because there was not anything wrong with it.

There has always been an Italian theme to the food, including a pastas and a mega-calorie thin crust pizza.  If you go for the pizza, I recommend getting the large size as it comes with buttery garlic dough knuckles.  The pasta is good, but the marinara is not sweet enough for me (a personal preference, of course).

The Crest also does good sandwiches and burgers, and if you choose one of these, you might want to go with the homemade bread - it is to die for.

Another thing that did not change is the wait staff, which is also a good.  They are always friendly and make it pleasure to eat there.

    Happy motoring!

We stopped into The Crest the other day in the afternoon with an hour to kill. I have to say, it really makes a difference what time of day it is when you visit. The atmosphere was 10X better than usual. Maybe it was the amiable nature of the bartender, perhaps the friendly attitude from the server, OR it may have been happy hour with 2 dollar draft beers.

Whichever of those qualities you look for in a bar, all three were on display, and it was an awesome time. The kicker might have been the FREE POOL that was offered...and the felt was in really good condition!!

The Crest also added like a bazillion flat screen TV's to their dining area (which also looked waay better than I remember). I mean, a LOT of televisions. Nice upgrade.

Feels good to give a total thumbs up to this place now.

At first, when I heard that my coworkers had chosen The Crest as our lunch spot I have to admit I was less then thrilled. I've lived in south bay my whole life and I had never stepped foot in this place because I thought it was a dingy dive bar. WRONG!

I was pleasantly surprised when we walked through the door. Flat screens everywhere, nice seating and apparently new menu's. The staff was friendly and the place was not at all what I had expected. The food was great and they have amazing bread sticks that bread knots that gives Rizzo's a run for its money. I will not shy away from this place again and have recommended it to a few friends that had judged it the way that I had before.

Also, it looked like they had a pretty good happy hour menu, can't wait to try it out!!

So here we go.  The bi-polar lunch diner / biker bar has go through a pretty significant interior makeover.  There's got to be 35 flat panel TV's all along the walls, and the furniture has gone upscale big time!  Rich cherry stained woods and nice dark wood tables that don't wobble.
A nice upgrade, and long overdue.
I came here with 3 lovely ladies of yelp (boy, was I the lucky guy).  I got the California burger that had bacon and avocado.  As always, its served on their own homemade baked bread.  The steak fries were great, as usual.
Service remains friendly and accessible.  Everyone seems to love this place, even if they won't openly admit it.

This bar capped off my Friday night with my high school buddies. To the best of my recollection, this bar was just plain. Nothing extravagant. A simple bar set up, and an overweight bartender that was just firing your orders right back at ya'.

I remember seeing a room in the distance towards the back that might have had a stage for a live band. Don't quote me on this one. My recollection from this place was not that great. I do know that it was just o.k.

On our way out I recall one of my buddies almost getting into an altercation with a female. According to his version of the story, she slapped him. I just wanted to go home by that time. Note to the female: You could have probably taken on all three of us and had a lifelong story to tell on how you beat down three men. That would have been classic. Oh, and I had close to $1000 bucks cash in my pocket. So in addition to the beat down, you could have robbed me.

My boss loves this place, so if he's picking, this is where we go.  I think he likes it mainly because it makes him feel like Norm from Cheers--they always know his name.

It is pretty much a dive bar.  There are some televisions scattered throughout the bar.  The memorabilia on the wall is a mix of sports posters and lighted beer signs.  They updated the sports posters recently.  A few years back, almost every sports poster was outdated--they had one of Alex Rodriguez playing for the Mariners, Frank Thomas playing for the White Sox, Ken Griffey Jr. playing for the Mariners (though that would be accurate now), and so on.  They were up for so long that I thought it was intentional--a joke or a statement on the problems with free agency.

In terms of the food, at the very least, it is edible and won't make you sick.  They offer a variety of hot and cold sandwiches with steak fries.  The fries aren't bad.  Their fresh made bread is actually pretty good.  I have had the meatball sub and then the cold ham & cheese.  You could do worse, but there are better options for food out there.

The Crest is the neighborhood bar where all of Torrance has probably been at one time or another in their lives. The watering hole for all my highschool buddies. I'd like to say that I was a regular but now-a-days, I'll probably stop by to sing a couple songs on Karaoke Night (Sun., Mon. and Wed. @ 9pm) if I have nothing better to do.

It's a big place. A restaurant at day, and a bar by night. They have a stage, a spacious dance area and 4 pool tables. They've got a juke box but I prefer going on nights when bands play (most of the bands that play there are friends of mine, so - yeah.)

Their drink prices are average. No deals here (unless you are fu**ing the bartender!) But you are guaranteed a  crazy time!
