Please  be aware of this place went in last night for drinks and found a fruit fly in a martini my girlfriend ordered!!!!!! Manager explained to us that they sometimes get fruit flys because of the patio adjacent to the bar. Also, when leaving took 15 minutes for the bartender to bring back my gf's credit card. Have been going to Croxley's for a few years now, and haven't had any problems until last night. Though, they are kind of slow when coming by your table which has gotten worse. Why two stars, the manager was nice and comped the drinks we ordered.
Review Source:Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Wing specials are amazing. They have specific details that you need to follow (who am I kidding, they never really enforce them). Cheap GREAT wings!
- GREAT beer selection. It's good to try something new every once in awhile.
Cons:
- I've had good service and not so good service. Sometimes I have a waitress who never checks up on my party and I and sometimes I have a decent one.
Definitely worth it for the wings though! Love how they have specials all week long!
Croxley's is my work crew's go to spot for post work drinks and super cheap wings. Monday-Thursday wings are 20cents for wings with bones, and I believe the boneless ones are 10cents. It's a great place to go with a huge group because there' s huge tables, plenty of space, really cheap shareable food and a fantastic beer selection. I'm also a huge fan of their home infused flavored vodkas and tequilas. I had a cranberry mango margarita there the other day that was pretty bomb.
Honestly, the rest of their food is a little mediocre. Except for the popcorn shrimp. That's fantastic.
Overall a solid hangout in RVC. Nothing mindblowing, but who doesn't love cheap wings?
Croxley's used to be my favorite place for wings, but I noticed in my last few visits that the food was not up to the quality they previously served. The wings are smaller and have been room temperature at best. I don't know what's changed in the last few months, but whatever it is I hope it changes back, because I love buffalo wings and now Buffalo Wild Wings has made it to Long Island.
Review Source:Croxley's has an awesome beer selection.
I love their BBQ Burger (BBQ Sauce, Bacon, Cheddar, Frizzled Onions)...all my favorite things in one burger. Also you must get the cajun fries.
It can get crowded but there's a lot of seating so chances are you won't wait too long (unless its 10 cent wing Monday, but you'll be ok if you come early enough).
Honestly, what can you expect from or even complain about 10 cent wings? Give them a break, they're 10 cents each, people!
They aren't going to be the best wings you've ever had, they far from healthy AND i recommend being drunk or at least tipsy to wolf down a plate of these wings.....plus, what is a "boneless wing" really? i don't want to think about it....BUT I guarantee you won't regret your night if you're with good company.
The reason croaxley's gets 3 stars is just for their variety of craft beers.  They have something for everyone and they don't serve bud, coors or miller! Major brownie points for that one!
If only they carried Southern Tier's PUMKING:(
If you're going for 10cent wings with a group, be aware of a few things.
1) 5 dollar minimum drink purchase per person
2) must order wings of each type in groups of 10,15, 20 etc
3) 20% service charge added automatically to your bill ( even if your waitness gives you an attitude)
Â
I had a really good time at croaxley's overall, The rockville center location is also pretty clean and there is plenty of parking in the area.
Go wild, have a good time and make sure to order the medium spicy wings! Those are a sure win!
Good atmosphere.
Great draught beer selection. Nice little local pub nothing fancy nothing special just the nuts and bolts
Fish and chips are terrible. Extremely sub par do not order. Burgers are so so nothing great about this place
I don't know if I have ever gave 1 star before, but this place just does not cut it for me. I have gone on three separate occasions and have been extremely disappointed each time. Even their so called "wings" if that is what you call chicken nuggets splashed with a sauce. We went on boneless night and no lie folks, each "wing" was the size of quarter. very small, not tasty at all. NOT WORTH THE .10 cents. Guess I should have realized what i was getting into with .10 wings. Â
I forgot, the wings were microwaved. Talk about deal breaker. The meat was hot and sticky, you know when you eat microwaved food that the food membranes are all out of sync and you get that sticky meat texture. GROSS. Avoid eating food here at all costs. So many better options in Rockville Center
Came here on a Saturday night to have a drink with a friend. They have a big beer selection, nothing I particularly care for. I ordered something that was supposed to taste like molasses, raisins and chocolate..... just tasted like regular beer to me. I've only been here twice. Will definitely go again for the 10cent wings. They're not the best wings but I guess you get what you pay for so you can't go wrong.
Review Source:Only been here on Tuesday nights for 10 cent wings, actually 20cents sing we got them on bone, def a great time. We came in rolling ten people deep, sat us in 15 minutes, waitress very attentive & patient, wings were pretty decent, drinks were strong..the extensive beer list alone gives this place 5 stars. My only beef is the bill, somehow its always ridiculously pricey and we can never figure out why...tip: order your drinks at the bar instead so you don't get played...otherwise always a good time here.
Review Source:Monday through Thursday... you definitely can't go wrong at pretty much ANY of Croxley's locations through out Long Island. On average about 60+ beers on tap, 10 cent boneless wings and 20 cent "classic" (boned) wings. 6 different sauces to choose from.. Â you really can't go wrong!
Black Widow one of the most awesome beer cocktails I've ever had! (Guiness Stout w/ Blackberry Liquor -- who woulda thought that combo would be so delicious!)
Definitely an overall great place for any beer lover and wing lover!
I went on a Wednesday (10 cent wing night). After walking in, we were told by the hostess that there would be a 20 minute wait. Â I thought that was strange as we seemed to be like the only ones waiting for a table and there were at least 2 tables empty. Â We went to the bar and got drinks while we waited. Â After about 5 minutes, we were seated at a table (which was one of the ones that were empty when we came in). Immediately we were told by the waitress that there was a drink minimum at the table. I explained that we just purchased drinks (which we brought with us to the table) and she said that we could take it up with the manager later. Â We did and he did us a "favor" by letting the minimum slide. Â
I referred a coworker and she also got the "20 minute wait spiel" even though there were empty tables. Â
Note to management: If you're going to run a special, run a special. Don't try to dupe people into spending more money by imposing phony wait times.
P.S. subpar fries were $4.95 :(
On a brighter note, their house light beer is awesome.
My wife and I decide to try this place because its open late and reviews are pretty good .  First time guests rainy Tuesday night . So we walk in at 11 pm , place crowded but not packed , hostess takes us and seats us in a booth , great plenty of room , we look over menu order 2 beers , and then the hostess ask us to move to a smaller table , but we liked the table and asked  if we can stay here she says "ok thank you anyway ". Then our waitress tells us we have to move because a larger table walked in , so  we said we said " if your making us move , we are leaving she said "ok good night " !!! they clearly could of joined empty tables together to accommodate the new table or at least offered us a free dessert or beer !!!  Horrible service, unprofessional staff , I will never return. Is there manager on staff , who controls what the servers and hostesses do to the guests?
Review Source:They have an extensive beer list but don't tell you the prices. The boneless wings are a bit on the dry side and when they get cold turn rock solid. The irish nachos are good here, but I prefer the "normal" nachos here. They are amazing.
Moral of the story? Don't get the boneless wings -- go for the bone-in wings
PS: the wait can be very long! (but there are times where I got seated right away) & it is quite hard to find parking at times
I've been coming here since I hit 21 back in 2007. It really used to be a go-to for my friends and I. In the past year or so it's gotten unbearable, though. The service is just so bad. I can't tell you how many times our waitress straight up forgot about us. We're all ready for more beer/wings, and she's nowhere to be seen. The last 3 (!!!) times I went we had to get up and ask her for the check. It wasn't always like this. Friends come back to town and say 'Let's meet at Croxleys!' And I have the unfortunate task of telling them how the mighty have fallen. I know a girl who used to work at the RVC Croxleys and she agreed. In her words 'The management is so filthy rich now, they don't give a damn anymore.'
Review Source:Service was good, but I can understand if people think the space is a bit too tight....not enough seats and so if you come at night you might be in for a ~20m wait for a table. The bar is a bit cramped as well, but the food is worth the wait.
When I first saw the deals for the wings I was skeptical at first because nothing that is 10 cents can be that good...but the wings are good and well worth the money.
After seeing some reviews in the past, I am guessing that they raised the quality of their food because the wings were not as bad as most of the past yelpers are making it sound.
While the wings are very cheap, the drinks are moderate to expensive and so don't fall in to the trap of ordering too many drinks if you aren't going to drink them all.
Overall, a good place for friends, beer, wings, and lots of fun!
yay to cheap wings!
boo to the 20% automatic tip on those wings AND drinks you get in that same tab (cause service be lacking BIG time with this deal).
yay to sweet potato fries WITH GRAVYYY!!!
boo to being ID'ed every damn time I go. I don't look like 12 y'all, but I understand, policies are policies.
but yay to a great selection of draft beer in the area!
if it wasn't for you, i'd be driving home from my girlfriend's sober every weekend! i kid.
This place is a tourist trap for people coming into RVC who just DON"T KNOW WHERE TO GO. Â They hear "Croxley's", and they hear a familiar tone so they just roll with it, not realizing the culinary suicide they have chosen. Â
The food is just not acceptable, the wings are just plain, fried wings with Frank's red hot sauce...there is NOTHING TO THEM...as Porky Pig says "Thats All Folks"! Â
I will give them the beers, and if it were a rating on beer alone it would be a 3.5.
Let me start by saying I've been a customer of croxleys for about a decade or so -- this review is based on my most recent experience.
Gave it 3 stars for the beer selection, wing night specials and overall atmosphere and ambiance including the beer garden. Great local spot to catch the games with local friends or those from out of town (within two blocks of the RVC train station).
Service has gone from good to bad -- was served my original beer and wings fairly quickly, but it took forever for my server to come back and take another order. FYI: a bar patron should never have an empty drink. No exceptions. Would have probably spent 20-30 more if my waitress was attentive. We were brought an extra lager that we didn't order nor drink (wasn't even placed on the table) yet were still charged for it. I didn't really care because it was 6 bucks, but its the principle over the glass of beer.
Wings were small, but for 20c I didn't expect much. Still tasty and came with blue cheese which was nice. What wasn't was the 20% service charge they slap on all wing specials -- just raise the price of each wing to 25c and don't treat your customers like idiots!
The place is lined with tvs but they are on the small side when comparing to the other bars in the area and are out of date. One was even in black and white? We even had to ask for them to change from cartoons to a regular season football game. Wtf!
Overall good food for a food price with a few fixable errors. Hope they can figure it out before some of the local bars start knocking croxleys from its top spot in town.
Okay, I am being generous here with my stars for the Christmas season. Have been to Croxley's many times, but unfortunate for them am just reviewing. Had today's experience been a past trip we would not have returned. Service has horribly slow and there were several servers and few tables. Â Wings, the poultry was paltry. Little wings with little meat. The blackened chicken was blah, dry and slightly burnt. Â Had planned on coming back next week for husbands bday(as this was his favorite place), but will now go elsewhere.
Review Source:The service was terrible for a football Sunday at the bar! Â It wasn't even that packed. Â I've tended bar with the same amount of people (17), by myself with no empty glasses! Â Shout out to my first bar manager for being a hard ass. Â Food was nothing to wait for! Â I give 2 stars because there was football on and the amount of Belgium ales available.
Review Source:This is kind of my neighborhood bar when I just want to meet friends and go somewhere that we can talk and catch up. It's got a tremendous selection of good beers on tap, and it's a pretty pleasant atmosphere.
They make lots of fun beer cocktails, ranging from the more commonplace but excellent Snakebite to some more unique ones, like "Dark Side of the Moon" (Blue Moon + Guinness) and pretty much every fruit beer mixed with Guinness. All of these combinations are inspired and worth sampling...you know, for science!
Ok their buffalo wings are DISGUSTING
way overcooked and chewy as hell! and the sauce has a very cheap, sour stinging taste to it as if they got it out of a jar (no-frills pathmark hot sauce?)
As for the beer selection? nothing special *yawn*
but then again this place is nothing special -pfft!
Needed to update my review on this place, I went here wirh a group of friends on Friday night. Everyone wanted wings, so we ordered 1 hot , 1 medium and 1 order of boneless hot as hot can be(cry baby).
When the wings hit the table it was a frenzy!!! But I was the only one eating the boneless which were awesome and the heat was a good make the back of your head sweat heat. 4 beers later with a 10.5 alc in each and who cares how hot the wings are! Croxleys is a must goto place in long island, great food, great beer and great service!
If you care about good beer, drink here. Â If you care about good food, even basic bar munchies, don't eat here. Â Their wings are so dry that I can't even believe people continue to order them. Â Zucchini sticks are decent.
Great selection of beers. Â Bartenders are nearly impossible to get ahold of and completely impossible to get a smile from. Â The hostess this past Friday wasn't much better when my group of 4 approached her. Â "Hi there, can we get a table? Â We'll be ordering at least 2 plates of food" Â "Um, yeah, but. Â Your waitress might get mad." Â ??? Â
Our waitress was Lauren and fortunately for us she was wonderful. Â And we did order several plates, although I really wish we hadn't. Â Those wings...shudder.
Come early or on a weeknight in order to actually get a seat at the bar- this place always means standing all night.
Not Bad.
I hate bars that get friggin busy on the weekends, and you can find me at a hole in the wall on a Friday or Saturday night cause I don't like being crowded and I hate waiting on beer.
You won't find me at Croxleys - not one of them - on a Friday or Saturday night.
Tuesday night you WILL find me here. Â Its conviently located between where I live and where my on again/off again honey lives, we can sit at the bar and get sauced up, and they'll keep on bringing us wings (15 wing minimum? Â Um, what am I, a child? Â double that, please)
and their wings are good. Â And they have the beer I like (I dont like sh-tty beer, they have good beer. Â I dont ask them for advice, cause I know what kind of beer I like, so if you need a guide, you can ask me)
So maybe I'm too easy to please, but its better then being a pain in the ass.
oh - parking blows in rockville centre. Â and the meter maids are BORED so they will annoy you.
I'm going to break this review down into three categories: Food, Drinks, Sporting Events.
Food: Pleasantly mediocre. I've eaten here a number of times, and they make your standard pub food fare. Good burgers, very good wings, decent sandwiches and appetizers. One huge plus: TEN CENT WINGS every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. What a deal!
Drinks: Very expensive. If you're a bit of a beer snob, this place is right up your alley. They have an excellent selection of beers on tap, however your tab will run up quickly. I've never had a mixed drink here...as a matter of fact I don't think I've ever even seen one made.
Sporting Events: Croxley's has begun hosting UFC fights, and, at least in their RVC location, have been able to draw a crowd since the closing of Champ's Sports Bar. AVOID IN THIS SITUATION. All of their TVs are small, they do not have any drink specials, and the bar area is way too small to host big sporting events. You're much better off going to Miller's Ale House or anywhere else for that matter.
Hey Croxleys- Take the SPORTS BAR theme off of your website...
NCAA tourney on a Sat nite around 11 when the games change over; A whole section of 5 TV's have infomercials on and you won't put the UCONN game on because you r too busy???
Keep your warm Hoegarten and your wobbely tables to urself!!!
I have a love hate relationship with Croxleys.
When it's quiet, and you can sit and have some wings and a Royal Crown (Guinness & Hard Cider Mix), Â it's an awesome place to be.
When it's super crowded, and you have to wait for a table in the sardine can that is a bar? Â Not very awesome. Â In fact, Â it might be my own personal version of hell.
That being said, Â the wings are great, Â the beer is good. Â And if it's quiet, it's a nice place to be.
If you go there after 5pm though, Â and you don't like massive hoards of people, Â don't expect to have much fun. Â I know I didnt.
OH ALSO. Â Do NOT expect to pay with credit here. Â They have that ATM in the vestibule for a reason. Â This is annoying beyond belief. Â My local pizza place takes debit, and you don't? Â Argh.
Good for normal sized wings (Mondays and Wednesdays 10 cents, Sat-Sunday 20 cents), only in Mild-Hot with BBQ or Honey (I wish they had more sauces)
And a fairly large beer selection.
This location is a lot larger than their New Hyde Park location and has a larger kitchen so food comes pretty quick.
I wrote this review mainly to comment on Karen C's Review... They dont serve Bud or Coors... but other than that, sounds like you had a bad day. The back area does have lights, the wing/brunch menus are small, but the full dinner menu is pretty large.
And unless you come here with your kids, they card (and scan) every patrons ID. So dont forget it :P
Why the four stars?
1) Â Friendly waitresses - didn't try to move us along & out of our table, even on a crowded Saturday night.
2) Â Good location - it's along Park Ave., within walking distance of about a zillion restaurants.
3) Â Pretty good, basic pub food (caveat: my boyfriend tells me that the quality's gone down in the past several years, but I have no idea) & Â larger beer selection than many area bars.
4) Outdoor seating opens up the place quite a bit during warmer weather.
If you're visiting with someone who uses a wheelchair, call ahead (5-10 minutes before you're due to arrive) & ask them to open the back gate - the front entrance is not, of course, accessible.
Good ol' Croxley's...
Lots of taps.. really unhelpful bartenders... umm... 10 cent wings on certain days... Lots of taps... and your typical LI crowd..
Go with some good friends, order some beers you can't usually find on tap, and get some wings -- that's the best way to ensure you have a good time. Don't expect much else, and I think you'll leave a pretty satisfied customer.
