The food is fine, pretty average. I have been here several times because it has nice decor and my family likes the atmosphere (visiting me while at college). The service is usually an acceptable amount of time, but has been very slow on a few occasions. I did get a chocolate martini here once that was DELICIOUS!
Review Source:Pretty good food in a cool old looking building. Â Â Prices are average. Â I tried their beef sandwich and it was amazing. Â The meat was very tender and fell apart in your mouth as you were eating it. Â I also tried the wings. Â While they were on the small size they had a tasty sauce. Â The have a ton of beer on tap so beer lovers will like this place as well. Â Lastly the service is really good. Â They take good care of you and make sure you always have what you need.
Review Source:I have met friends here for drinks a few times now and I will keep returning. The last time we sat down for dinner and I have no major complaints. Customer service was good, which is a must wherever I go. Food was what I expected and the wait wasn't unusually long. Prices are a little high, but not outrageous. The entertainment is great too! Twice I have seen very talented bands playing here and they have a great jukebox selection as well. Conveniently located and I will return!
Review Source:My absolute favorite place up and down Ridge Pike from Pottstown to Norristown. Â Great atmosphere, clean, fantastic food and large drinks. I usually eat at the bar which is large and plenty of room for spreading out. I've had several items on the menu and they are all great. Â For a quick lunch try the Mediterranean Tuna Salad wrap and for a dinner entree, I love the veal piccante with pasta.
Review Source:I have been to Da Vinci's twice and it was terrible both times. After my first visit, I gave it one more shot and it wasn't any better. I wish it was better since it is local and convenient, but the food is below average and our server on our last visit ignored us to the point that we had to hunt him down.
Review Source:DaVinci's is a decent place to go. It's not the best restaurant and bar in the world, however they can hold their own.
I have been here 3 times, one of which we didn't even sit down due to the fact that it was a Saturday night and we were given an "80 minute" wait time.
The following time we went, our waiter was young and very personable. Turnsole was good. I ordered 5 cheese ravioli with Alfredo sauce, it was great. My girlfriend had the gnocchi, also delightful.
The third time we came, food was equally as good, the waitress did not seem enthused about her job or us not wanting a salad with our meals. Understandable, dealing with people all day everyday can run you down.
Overall this place is a very good place to go for a hearty meal. Prices are reasonable and portion sizes range from 'large' down to 'are you sure this isn't the kids meal?' depending on what you order.
Good atmosphere, go there on a night with live music if you want an excuse to just hang out.
A few weeks back, I met a friend here for dinner. I wasn't really expecting that much to be honest. Just a simple dinner and some beer.
I ordered their spaghetti carbonara special topped with blackened chicken. It came with a Caesar salad which was a bad attempt.
However, the chicken was amazing! Seriously. It was extremely moist and flavorful. I don't think I've ever had blackened chicken that wasn't dry inside. This was a 5 star dish. Oh, and plus their carbonara came with peas which I'm a fan of :)
I'm looking forward to taking Jeff there so in the meantime I'll go with 3 stars since everything else that night was just average.
Davinci's is always packed on the weekends if Im driving by. It always seems like a party is going on!
Its a nice bar/pub and they usually have some sort of music, band etc for a fun time. Parking is indeed spacious, but last Saturday night there was NO where to park. After parking out close to a ditch and moving inside we sat at the bar while we waited for a table. We had a party of 8 so we expected a bit of a wait. The bar was great, drinks were a little pricey but decent. When we were seated we waited a very long time to get waited on even for drinks, then food. Granted they were very busy but we were there a total of 2.5-3 hours from start to finish.
The food was good, came out hot and plentiful. The other reviewer talked about small apps but we didnt order any so I cant comment on those portions. Â The entree portions were a good size and came with salad/bread. Our waiter was very friendly and tried his best to be attentive but if I could suggest anything, I would say hire more weekend staff for the dining room.
Worthwhile place to go have drinks and watch some live music and mingle. The pub setting environment is very rustic and open. Dining is decent if you dont expect a fine center city restaraunt.
It's funny to see your feelings of a place echoed in other people's reviews. Went here with some of my co-workers for food and drinks. We sat at the bar.
I'll be honest, the service at the bar was really excellent with fast service and friendly staff. Unfortunately the positive ends there. I 100% agree with what another reviewer said in that this place seems to think a bit too much of itself. The atmosphere is fine but nothing worth bragging about. Where it really takes a nosedive is prices and food quality/quantity.
I ordered a couple of cosmopolitans and while they were good, I almost fell off my bar stool when I got the bill - $11 each. That's center city elite restaurant prices. You can't do that in the suburbs and expect people to come back!
Food wise my one co-worker warned me to not expect to be impressed (he had been taken here for lunch by clients on a couple of occasions) and he was right. We ordered some apps to share, one of which was a $13 sampler platter which consisted of 4 tiny spring rolls (the size of your thumb - no lie), 2 chicken fingers and 5 (yes you read that right) fried onion rings and accompanying dipping sauces. Now look, I have no problem with small portions but if you're going to charge a lot for small portions that food had better be absolutely unbelievable and guess what, it wasn't.
This seems like the type of place where people would go that think because they're spending a lot of money on drinks and the place has a cool name that they're somehow elevated to upper class. There are much better choices to be had in the area than this place.
I had lunch at Da Vinci's with my mom the other day and it wasn't bad! Â The atmosphere is nice - dark wood and stone with fireplaces. Â We were seated immediately and our waiter was prompt and pleasant (though a little strange, but nothing I could hold against him).
I wasn't overwhelmed by the menu - nothing was really calling out to me. Â I finally settled on the penne vodka and mom got the ravioli. Â The bread and salads were good and the food came shortly after we finished our salads. Â My pasta was very good - mom tasted it and she really liked it too! Â We waited a little too long for our check, but overall had a nice experience. Â I would definitely order that pasta again, or maybe try a pizza, which also sounded good. Â A good place for lunch!
Da Vinci's is housed in the old Harpoon Louie's building. Â The wooden and classic accents throughout gives this place a pleasant and historic kind of vibe. Â Many nights you can find an acoustic guitar player, and that's really nice.
The wait to be seated has typically been very short. Â No worries though, you'll more than make up for it in the time you spend waiting for your food. Â In the many times our family has dined there, food has taken about 45 minutes to an hour to reach our table and when it does, it is lukewarm. Â It feels like it has been left sitting to be honest. Â
Go there for the square pizza, they make a great pub pizza. Â That's my favorite dish there. Â
Before it was Da Vinci's, this place was called something like the "Great American Bar and Grill" I believe. Â That was a much better run business at the time, the food was always excellent and we ate there frequently. Â Since it became Da Vinci's it has noticeably gone downhill. Â It isn't horrible, but we've had such an increase in poor service and experiences, we barely go there anymore. Â We used to go there about every other week, now its more like once or twice a year.
My worst experience there involved me ordering a drink. I ordered a Surfer on Acid drink with my meal. Â The waitress brought me the drink in a shot glass. Â Now, I had specifically asked for the full drink, who has a shot glass with their meal?? Â I asked for it in a full glass and get this....I never got it. Â The whole time we were there, repeatedly asking the waitress for the drink and it never came. Â All I had was the shot glass so that is what I drank and I still got charged for the drink I didn't get. Â I argued with the waitress that I should not be charged at all, that I never got the drink. Â She wouldn't take it off the bill despite the fact that my order was never fulfilled. Â I got charged the $7 for the drink even though I never got the whole drink. Â Yeah, that $7 just came right out of her tip.
If I order something, bring it to me. Â Isn't that all we ask? Â I've never had something like this happen to me in a restaurant, where I never even got the drink I ordered despite repeated prompts.
