Stables Bar

This bar has been in operation for decades.  With some modernizing in recent decades, its a fairly decent environment now for what it is.  But that's about as far as it goes.  The clientele that the Stables draws is mixed & unpredictable - sometimes fun people, sometimes a seedy crowd where you might be concerned for your safety.  WIthin the last month or two - this dive bar actually went nonsmoking!  I really hope that move puts them out of business - as that is the ONLY reason I patronized the place - because I could have a drink and NOT have to step outside to smoke.  So - unless they return to a smoker-friendly environment - I will never return there.  I suspect they did this after losing a lot of their regulars to the new Black Horse Tavern, down the street.  That is a nonsmoking bar - so let the nonsmokers go there - - - and let the Stables retain their smoking base.  At least that's how I figured they would think.....but not so.  
Go ahead & disagree with me - but I could care less.  I know there are still a select few out there who smoke and want to smoke with their drink.  As for the Stables - good luck with your new policy.  I don't see any more cars in the lot now that you are "smoke free" - in fact I see LESS.  We won't be back either.
