D'Arpino's Italian Cafe

I'd heard great things about this place. The staff was nice. The food was just okay though. Maybe there was just too much hype and build up, but it didn't live up to what I expected. The prices aren't too horrible, but high nonetheless.

Their sauces are simply the best.  Vegetarian options are abundant and delicious.  When it comes to Italian food this is my first choice.  Reasonable prices, attentive service, and excellent flavors.

The Eggplant Parm. is the best I've ever had.

My experience here was twofold - it started out horribly and became a great night thanks to the owner.
We got there on a busy Saturday night and somehow ended up with the worst server. It took him almost 20 minutes to take our drink order and we had to flag him down and ask him to please stop cleaning and take our food order instead because it has been another 15 minutes since he has come by the table.
We ordered the Rocky Calzone and when it go there, the dough was undercooked. In fact it was so raw that it stuck to my teeth.
I brough the food and service issue to the owner who immediately apologized and offered to remake the calzone. We agreed to that.
What followed next was a great example of cusotmer service. Not only did she take the calzone off our ticket but she comped the whole meal including drinks for my husband, myself and out friend!
The owner checked up on us and made sure everything was ok.
I'll definitely be back because the 2nd time around the food was absolutely delicious and I appreciate somebody really taking care of you.
