This was one of the highlights of my visit to NOLA. Drive thru Daiquiri Bar?!?! This place is AWESOME!!!!!
You would NEVER EVER see one of these in Los Angeles!
I tried the Island Citrus Daiquiri and also the Strawberry Banana one! Both were yummy and STRONG!!!!
I can't wait to visit my friends again in NOLA and have many daiquiri's
Large daiquiri for under $6 on Mon or Wed (can't remember which)! Guess I'll have to go back for more "research" you know! Not to mention this is a DRIVE-THRU daiquiri shop, where you can get virtually any daiquiri or mixed drink TO GO!! Gotta love New Orleans...! My banana banchee daiquiri was so banana-y and strong. Loved it. Going back for more research...are y'all glad I'm willing to take one for the Yelping Team!?!? ;-)
Review Source:Saw Daiquiri Bay Cafe on Drinking Made Easy and when I was recently in LA, had to try out the place...
How cool: Â Drive up to the window, order alcohol, and drive away. Â What a concept! Â Would highly recommend anyone coming here just for the experience alone. Â Fantastic! Â And the drinks were really, really good too. Â Great flavors.
Ummm what can you say about a Drive Thru Bar??!!
This is the greatest idea since sliced bread. Â My friends and I, who all are from states that would never allow this to happen, all came here in the car just to say we tried it.
All the Daiquiris were fantastic. I got the Island Citrus and it was amazing. Drinks were strong and cold (good cause its so humid in NOLA). You can even get a Jack & Coke in a to go cup!
The drinks were strong enough without getting an extra shot. This place puts Fat Tuesdays in Vegas to shame. Better yet they have happy hour and the prices ranged from 5 bucks to 7 bucks at the most!
If you've never ordered your booze to go, come here and try it, you wont be disapointed!
Are you kidding me, alcohol daiquiri drive thru? SERIOUS? That would NEVER exist in Cali! They say they leave the top of the straw wrapper on so technically they're not promoting drinking and driving. A supposed loop hole in the system.
As I sat in this college style bar, I noticed that the drive thru got all the action. Car after car pulled up. Inside the place it was pretty dead. A few people on the video pokers, drunk couples trying to play the music box, empty ping pong and dart boards sit awaiting usage. There are plenty of flat screens all over the interior that you can't miss your favorite team's highlight.
Plenty of fruity of daiquiris to try. The banana flavored one was surprisingly the best one for me. Not a fan of the egg nog and the Pina Colada was okay.
I'm still tripping out on the alcohol drive thru service (I think it's the norm around these parts).
My wife and I really like it here. Â The daiquiris are good a cheap, they have a lot of specials, the burgers are excellent and they have ping pong and darts. Â
One stipulation though is that it is never crowded (sometimes it's really empty). Â I personally like that, but I'm a big lame wad. Â But I think it's a great place if you and a significant other just want to go for drinks or if you have a group that wants to go out but don't really want to mingle. Â While it isn't crowded, the people I have met there have all been incredibly nice.
