Place is god awful since the new owners took over. Go somewhere else......anywhere else. Such a shady crowd, they must come from the train station

Some friends, my wife and I were driving around Long Island and stopping at various waterfront areas to enjoy the view. While cruising Bay Shore we decided it was time for a bite to eat. A quick search of the internet listed Declan Quiinn's as an option. I remembered the name from a show on FIOS news, about LI restaurants. We were very glad that we chose to dine there. It is a family run place and very warm and welcoming. Carmine, Chris and Sonny, were very friendly and gave us great service. We engaged some of the regulars/locals and they were all very friendly. They also have a nice selection of beers on tap, and I enjoyed a local IPA. We ordered the Yankee pot roast, the Tuscan chicken, a roast beef panini, and a French dip. Everyone enjoyed the food and the portions were plentiful. It was a windy raw day and the ladies chose to have Irish coffee. They both raved about them - very good coffee, a generous shot of whiskey, topped with fresh whipped cream and drizzled with Creme de Menthe. I know we will return soon and I highly recommend you give it a try.

What Happened to Quinns???? I noticed the posts are a bit dated. Which explains there content. I got turned on to this place around 3 years ago. They have volleyball in the summer and that attracted a lot of people. Old style dark wood bar area. Im told the place was taken over about 5 yrs ago by 2 guys who really turned the place around. Always friendly faces, great drink specials and really had a great pub kitchen going. I'd stop in 2 or 3 times a month over the past 3 years. But, havent been there for a few months. I stopped in for the Giant games a couple of times. Yikes!!! the place was nearly empty and I could see why. There were a lot of undesirables who musta slid in from the Bayshore train station across the street. VERY BAD scene! I had asked a familiar face, what had happened? He said the 2 guys sold the place and theres a new owner. I returned twice since. The crowd was seedy at best. Im afraid the change is permanent and not for the better. Good bye Declan Quinn's... It was good while it lasted.

This place is fantastic! 10 of us went for dinner and drinks. They have a formal dining room in the back, and although this is a "bar" it is very classy. The food is an A+ and the portions were good. My steak sandwich was tender and tasty, and the fries were the best I've had. Many unique beers on tap, my favorite being a chocolate stout. They have a beautiful outdoor deck area with fire pits. No need to go to fire island with this gem right in town. The service was perfect and the owner even came to introduce himself to see how everything was. After 10, the bar area filled up with a lively crowd and made for a fun evening. I will be back very soon!

This is a great bar. They have volleyball out back in the summer, outside dining, a dining room inside and a bar area with additional tables. They changed owners a few months ago and things have only gotten better. It's about 1/2 mile north of Main Street so you get away from some of the craziness that goes on down there. Also a GREAT place for people to stop at going to and from the city as it's literally across the street from the train station.

I hope a largely bulleted approach suffices, as it's a pub in Bay Shore, albeit an inconsistently solid one:

Parked out back
Slow service
Seat yourself
2:30 lunch
Packed bar
Quintessential menu with pub fare and meat-heavy bent, & various "cuisines" therein
http://Restaurant.com gift card
Wasn't sure what to get
Got fried ravioli and buffalo shrimp salad with a water
Sat facing the street/railroad lot
Food came out hot as balls
Very respectable fried ravioli with decent marinara (it should be divulged I'm not a huge fan even in extraordinary cases, so they did something right)
Guys discussing escapades with women that never occurred in places they've never been, steam emanating off my goddamn sauce AND ravioli, and silverware a bit unclean & flies welcome
3 jumbo shrimps heavily dressed...not fond of peeling sauced-up shrimp but buffalo shrimp were palatable with a cleansing punch (without being prohibitively or intrusively hot)
Good tunes
Dangerously close to the LIRR

To their credit, the staff was overextended. They seemed accustomed to receiving http://Restaurant.com G/C's so the forfeiting was quick and painless, and I was told I'd make the minimum after tax. Turns out, once I finished eating, I didn't, and they tried giving back the g/c and asking me to foot the whole bill. Nice try, goombah. Unfortunately, I had a 45-minute 'meal' at a bar, and they handled the delivery of the check and scam or getting me to come back poorly. It inconvenienced 'em to let me buy a ($5) Red Bull, which I don't even drink, so that was supremely douche-worthy.

I can't consciously give a pub I haven't binge drank at even a 4, and we all know the origins of the food at any is less than savory, plus service was obnoxiously hindering and my mouth is still reeling from the temperature, but a 3 (2.5, really) seems apt. From the "buddy" rather than "sir" even when you're donning business attire to the formidable portions you must finish to avoid embarrassment and are encopuraged to spill on yourself, Declan Quinn's proved to be a pleasant food-only surprise amidst the typical kvetching going down at the bar. Gastropub is not a moniker I throw around lightly, especially on LI, but Quinn's certainly deserves the designation (these days the distinction means more than just not fucking everything up).

Oh, & the site is in fact http://www.declanquinns.…

So what I thought was a local watering hole turned out to be one of the best quick and fun places to grab a beer and some delicious food as well as a great late night place to hang out. Besides the young and fun atmosphere that includes some awesome undiscovered bands (some of which used to play at the funky phish, a local whole in the wall known for the live music), also has a delicious menu.

Over the summer I went her with my bf to get a quick bite and realized I had been missing out on some really great bar food. I go to school at night and find myself decently hungry after a four hour class, my bf had a gift certificate to the place so we decided to go for a beer and some grub. We had the french onion and roasted garlic potato soups. Both were delicious. My bf suggested I get the sliders and since it's football season I am constantly craving wings so we got both to share. The sliders were awesome! Three small but plump burgers cooked medium rare with Quinns secret sauce (what seemed like a tartar sauce and thousand island dressing mix) was delicious. The wings we ordered hot but were not overly spicy, which was somewhat disappointing since we know I like it hot ;-) They do offer a "super hot" wing sauce that comes along with a challenge... you have ten minutes to eat as many wings as possible without a drink or dipping sauce, and you must lick your fingers clean... currently the record is held at 25 wings.

Definitely my suggestion if you are looking for a quick bite to eat with a variety of good tap beers and fun bartenders!

Kitchen hours vary but late night menu thurs-sat until 1am
Bar closes LATE!

Great food and a great atmosphere. The bartenders are cool and quick with the drinks and they are always doing food/drink specials.
