This place is stuck in the '70s. Wifi speed was so slow I couldn't download my email. No quiet desks to work at - except for phone booths. Remember before you travelled with your cell phone? Me neither. If you don't have a membership, save your $25. If you do, you're still better off using free SFO wireless and working in the terminal.

This lounge is the perfect place to relax before a redeye flight. It strikes the balance between just dark enough to slip in and relax quietly by yourself and bright enough to stay awake. I love all the outlets, and of course the drinks! The only bummer is that the lounge is outside of the security checkpoint, so you are in charge of your own destiny here! Pay attention!

Very old lounge that could use a renovation soon. It is often quite empty because the lounge sits BEFORE airport security instead of within the actual terminal. This is a complaint because you usually can't gauge how long the check in line is. Besides that, it is clean and well maintained. Nothing much to report, and definitely not a 'premium' lounge.

Interestingly, this Sky Club is located in the main check-in area before the security entrance. I have mixed feelings about this. In a way, it's nice because you can relax if you're early, and if someone you know is in the area, you don't have to go through security to come down and say hello. However, once you go through security, that's it. You have to time things very well and know how the security line is moving while you're in the club. Otherwise, you'll spend all that time watching the Golf Channel and then realize you are about to miss your flight because the security line got very long.

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I flew standby on a buddy pass this time around, and the woman at the front desk checked the flights for me (and basically let me know I was going to get on... phew!). We also briefly chatted about her recent trips around the world and about her upcoming trip to China, where she would be meeting a Florida-based flight attendant. Sometimes I wish that were my life.

As for the inside, it's small, and the snacks are really lacking. There are a few computer terminals to use. There is a flat screen, which was set to the Golf Channel. The chairs are decently comfortable. The tea is Twinings, which I like. Free drinks. I can't really complain.

People are relatively friendly and the self-serve snacks were well stocked. That said, how can it get anything but 1 star if it's outside security? It defeats the whole purpose of having a lounge (i.e. to lounge without feeling worried or rushed). Given the good quality, I'll give it 2 stars, but something needs to change if this is going to work in a post-9/11, TSA controlled system.

So being based out of SF and a Delta fan, I frequent the Delta Sky Club in Terminal One quite often. The club itself is clean and the perfect size for the number of folks that are always in there. I think the service is great and they are good at recognizing the regulars who attend the club. They are very nice and constantly make sure ther eare no empty glasses lying around keeping the club very neat. My only complaint about this club is unfortunately out of their control. I wish this club was inside the terminal itself. I am grateful that I have CLEAR so I do not have to wait in a very long line but this would be so much more convenient if located within the terminal itself. But all in all, a solid Delta skyclub and service ranks near the top from all the clubs I have been to.

This lounge gets two stars because it is located outside of Security. The service is great, as always, but it is not an updated lounge and it is small. There are not a ton of power supplies, so be sure to park next to one of the end tables with a built-in outlet.

The staff is super friendly and they can't help their location, but be sure to budget extra time to get through security. SFO doesn't have CLEAR yet, so be aware.

Huge downside of this place: IT'S BEFORE SECURITY!!

Otherwise a very decent Sky Club and, since the concourse that Delta is on at SFO often resembles the airport at some Third World banana republic right before the dictator of the moment is going to fall, it SHOULD be a good place to duck out of the crowd. For me its just hard to sit back, relax and get some work down before you have to run the gauntlet that the jackbooted thugs of TSA throw down...

Hopefully someday Delta will improve this club, especially since I'm told they are making SFO a 'focus city', but who knows what Delta, or any other airline for that matter, will do. The delays that SFO has in bad weather are notorious, it sure would be nice to have a lounge that is actually accessible!! Good luck!

This is an odd SkyClub as it's on the wrong side of security. So, in this case I was waiting between flights in SFO and actually left the secure area to go to the SkyClub to spend over an hour catching up on email. The Club is small, but nice and the service was much better than the Dallas SkyClub.

Worth the money ($25 or included in your particular Amex membership level). *you might be prompted to buy the pass during check in but it will probably not be the $25 amount. I was offered it for $39. On Delta's site it lists it as $50, so I guess they are just trying to price gouge the lazy person. Skip that, check in and proceed to the sky club and buy the pass at the counter for the $25 (one person needs to have at least an Amex, I think.) Either way, IMO, if you get a meal, drinks, WiFi, and a comfortable place to spend a few hours, the price is almost justified at any level.

Layovers so much easier and you are almost saddened when you have to leave for your flight. I mean, "free" snacks, drinks, and a nice couch area that encircles a big TV. Like Lindsay W., the apples, celery, carrots and hummus were pretty much the only healthy options. The snacks of course were unavoidable and tasted great (I'm a new fan of pretzels dipped in Nutella). http://www.yelp.com/biz_… Darn you Delta! ha ha.

The drinks I (remember) having were: (tea and water, gotta hydrate at some point) 2 Screwdrivers, 2 White Russians, and possibly a white wine. Yes, I felt great. The bartender was friendly and I was surprised to not see a tip jar, something I saw in the JFK Sky Club. There was also a fancy make your own coffee/latte/whatever machine.

The magazine rack was well stocked and full of current tech, business, and general interest magazines. There were several different newspapers available as well, but these days everyone in there has iPads or laptops.

There was a shoe shine machine by the men's bathroom. There are I think 3 TV's (possibly more) spaced throughout the Sky Club. It was nice to be able to watch the Olympics and actually be able to hear it. http://www.yelp.com/biz_…

So, budget this into your travel and make it a priority to arrive maybe an hour or two earlier than you would regularly and spend some quality time here.

Thank you for serving me all of those snacks on Sunday. I would have preferred more than just celery when it comes to fresh veggies, but the hummus and other snacks made up for it. Your bartender was pretty good to, though she was not behind the bar at first and I had to wait a few minutes, but that happens.

This Sky Club is smaller than most that I have been to, but it was nice and the staff was really kind. I just wish that it was inside the security check point. Like most people stated, you need to give yourself extra time so you do not miss your flight.

Not one of my favorite Delta lounges... it is actually located outside of the gate which made me build in some extra time to get through the security line.

The Crown Room itself is great and the people are friendly, however, there's one major downfall to the SFO Crown Room. It's located in front of security. That means that security sits between the Crown Room and your gate so if you need to go back and forth between them you have to go through security each time (like a flight delay situation) which can be a real pain.

That said, the drinks are free and security isn't doing a sobriety test unless you want to fly the plane (still an option if you're a Southwest pilot...)

You don't want to miss out on the mile-high mojitos and Sierra Nevada on tap at the SFO PC. Great staff at this particular location. Minus one star for the pay-wifi.

It's a swanky members only lounge run by Delta in the SFO airport (among most other major airports).

Free booze before a flight is sooo sooo bad. And soo soo good.

I can't believe work paid for this. What were they thinking?!? I love you, accounting department.

Most of these even have putting greens.

Tip: You don't even need to fly Delta to use the lounge as long as you are a member - any ticket on any airline for travel on the day of entry, along with your membership card, will get you and up to two of your most thankful friends in to relax (i.e. drink as much as possible) before your flight.
