It was Girls Night Out and being our group's social director I suggested the 7 of us go to karaoke. It's been yonks since I've been to a karaoke place and didn't know what to expect.
I tried to get reservations on their website but for some reason it didn't work so I left a message and Michael called me back. I liked that they had Happy Hour rates which worked out in our favor since I made everyone eat senior citizen dinner at 5pm and we arrived at 7pm. The place was clean and we had great service.
Michael was at the front desk and was super nice and showed us to our room. It was an LED/neon light fest! He showed us how the remote worked with the TV menu for artists, songs and bands. I was impressed because it's been so long I've been to a karaoke place I expected to look through binders of songs!
There weren't too many 80s songs we could sing, which was okay because we belted out everything from Queen to LMFAO to Bruno Mars. We couldn't help but laugh because some of the older songs had the weird Hong Kong video touch to them - an awkward looking couple rolling through the grass; film of Hong Kong streets at 3am, a strange looking woman humping a wall (!!!).
We also couldn't help but dance to some of the catchier tunes thinking we were lucky nobody was watching us do our lame dance moves. Imagine our surprise when we walked to the front desk to pay and there was a huge TV with security camera views of every single room! The bouncers chuckled when we came out and we all laughed about it. I'm sure the bouncers have seen it all, even our horrible dance moves. Didn't make any difference - BEST. TIME. EVER!!!!
