Ristorante Buon Gusto

Everything was awesome! It child friendly,pretty,and everyone was polite! After eating some ice cream I told them it was delicious  so the boss gave me another bowl...for free!  Thank u for the ice cream!

Came to this place for a dessert.

Crème Brûlée with Crutti di Bosco: a creamy custard topped with a layer of raspberry sauce & mixed berries coated in caramel ($8.50) wasn't Crème Brûlée at all, it was some other weird soggy... thing. Don't recommend it...
Torta Nocciola: alternating layers of hazelnut cake, hazelnut cream & chocolate cream, topped with praline hazelnuts, i.e. Hazelnut Cake wasn't even worth finishing. I'd rather eat that Crème Brûlée thingy.
However, Coppa Marscarpone: chocolate cream layer followed by a smooth mascarpone cream, topped with Amaretto cookie crumbs & chocolate curls, was very good.
I was extremely disappointed with the service: our waiter kind of disappeared on us. Then I never got more water. Then the cappuccinos came out waaay after the desserts... Okay, whatever... Last straw? We were seated at a table for 6 people (there were 4 of us), and as they brought our cappuccinos, they also sat two men at our table... Needless to say that it was as weird for us as it was for them... Issue of space? No, there was an empty table in the corner... We were taking too long to leave? Well how about you don't take 30 minutes to bring out our coffee...
I would avoid that place :

i was so disappointed in last night's meal. used to come by somewhat frequently, but i haven't been for a while, so my husband and a couple friends from work decided to try it for dinner.

i have to say the customer service is really good. friendly and attentive. of course, my last refill of coffee never found its way to my coffee cup, but i guess the two cups i'd already had were my allotted ration of coffee for the night.

the bread was excellent. not hot, not warm even, a little cooler than room temp. but it was good.

the wrapped butter squares had come directly from the coldest part of the frig. i had to hold them in between my fingers to soften them up a bit. cold butter on cold bread...not easy to spread.

pea soup. was alright, but not very hot. have had much better.

there were no complaints from the others who had salad - salads had greens with one cherry tomato, one black olive, one pepperoncini.

my linquine with clams and white sauce was ok. not very flavorful. couldn't taste any garlic. i expected it to be better than what i make at home.

one of my friends had ordered linguine tutto mare, also with the white sauce. she also said it lacked any real flavor and was unhappy with it.

there was no complaint on the lassgne; however, my husband said the prawns carmelo lacked flavor as well.

chocolate mouse was delicious, only after it thawed. it had been kept next to the butter in the coldest part of the frig.

all in all, prices are high. which would be fine if the food was deserving. but it wasn't.

we met at 5pm, good thing, cause by the time we left close some time later, it had gotten so noisy, it was difficult carrying on conversations.

next time we feel like italian, we'll try sodini's/bertoluccis.

it was a real shame. buon gusto used to be the very best of italian restaurants.
