Came to this place for a dessert.

Crème Brûlée with Crutti di Bosco: a creamy custard topped with a layer of raspberry sauce & mixed berries coated in caramel ($8.50) wasn't Crème Brûlée at all, it was some other weird soggy... thing. Don't recommend it...
Torta Nocciola: alternating layers of hazelnut cake, hazelnut cream & chocolate cream, topped with praline hazelnuts, i.e. Hazelnut Cake wasn't even worth finishing. I'd rather eat that Crème Brûlée thingy.
However, Coppa Marscarpone: chocolate cream layer followed by a smooth mascarpone cream, topped with Amaretto cookie crumbs & chocolate curls, was very good.
I was extremely disappointed with the service: our waiter kind of disappeared on us. Then I never got more water. Then the cappuccinos came out waaay after the desserts... Okay, whatever... Last straw? We were seated at a table for 6 people (there were 4 of us), and as they brought our cappuccinos, they also sat two men at our table... Needless to say that it was as weird for us as it was for them... Issue of space? No, there was an empty table in the corner... We were taking too long to leave? Well how about you don't take 30 minutes to bring out our coffee...
I would avoid that place :

i was so disappointed in last night's meal. used to come by somewhat frequently, but i haven't been for a while, so my husband and a couple friends from work decided to try it for dinner.

i have to say the customer service is really good. friendly and attentive. of course, my last refill of coffee never found its way to my coffee cup, but i guess the two cups i'd already had were my allotted ration of coffee for the night.

the bread was excellent. not hot, not warm even, a little cooler than room temp. but it was good.

the wrapped butter squares had come directly from the coldest part of the frig. i had to hold them in between my fingers to soften them up a bit. cold butter on cold bread...not easy to spread.

pea soup. was alright, but not very hot. have had much better.

there were no complaints from the others who had salad - salads had greens with one cherry tomato, one black olive, one pepperoncini.

my linquine with clams and white sauce was ok. not very flavorful. couldn't taste any garlic. i expected it to be better than what i make at home.

one of my friends had ordered linguine tutto mare, also with the white sauce. she also said it lacked any real flavor and was unhappy with it.

there was no complaint on the lassgne; however, my husband said the prawns carmelo lacked flavor as well.

chocolate mouse was delicious, only after it thawed. it had been kept next to the butter in the coldest part of the frig.

all in all, prices are high. which would be fine if the food was deserving. but it wasn't.

we met at 5pm, good thing, cause by the time we left close some time later, it had gotten so noisy, it was difficult carrying on conversations.

next time we feel like italian, we'll try sodini's/bertoluccis.

it was a real shame. buon gusto used to be the very best of italian restaurants.

Hands down a very different experience from our previous visit. After correspondence and a sincere apology from the other partner Julian, we decided to give them another chance and hopefully experience something far more different than our first visit. Let me first start off by saying that we were pleasantly greeted with a smile by Julian himself. Our waiter was very courteous and accommodating, and made us feel very comfortable. Based off our experience that we received on on our second visiit, I would highyl recommend you give them a try. Thank you Julian for going above and beyond, taking action to rectify the situation and in making us feel welcome in your restaurant.

So, this is between 2 and 3 stars for me... I am new to the area and work close by.  So, decided to start my exploration of South San Fran.  We grabbed dinner some place else, but were looking for a good dessert and coffee.  Which cuisine has good desserts? Italian, so - here we are!
Well, the desserts were not bad, actually one out of three was very good, order Mascarpone creme, and you will be craving for more.  Creme Brule is not a creme brule (but I guess it's not an Italian dessert, so I can discount this one), however hazelnut cake (or torta di nocciole in fancy Italian) tasted as if they just took it out of the box, defrosted and served for $7.
Another absolutely remarkable feature is their service - WOW, I don't remember the last time it was this bad in a rather expensive place. So, our server barely spoke English (well, if he was Italian, I would give a discount, but he was not... just couldn't speak or understand).  Our cappuccinos arrived about 30 minutes after we order the dessert... they either forgot about it, didn't understand what we asked for (see comment on their language comprehension capabilities above), or just decided that coffee should be had after the dessert.  Either way, it's not my way, or normal person's way.
    Sorry, 2*.

Now, the question... will I come again - the main dishes on neighboring tables didn't look bad, so I might give it a try... If it's anything more than 2*, stay tuned for a review update

visited buon gusto wed night after baseball game with my parents who were visiting from so. cal. they wanted to have an italian dinner before flying home. the food was incredible from the fried calamari and bruschetta appetizers  to one of the specials of the night petrale sole. they had homemade italian sausage that was some of the best ive ever tried. the owner julian recommended a bottle of red that everyone enjoyed even though neither my mother nor myself drink alcohol.the wait staff was friendly and very professional.my parents were so happy with the meal they did not even seem bothered by the fact they had to fly home and deal with tsa. i  will definitely be going back for dinner soon and will recommend to my friends.

I love this place and have been coming here most of my life.  The service is so nice and friendly!  Such a great family run business.  It's very classic Italian...but it's REALLY yummy.  It's a great place for a family dinner or a casual celebration. Their polenta here is soooo yummy I usually order a second side of it to take home.   And you always get a complimentary class of Marsala after dinner. What's not to love?

My husband and I went here on a trip to South San Francisco.
I had the Tortellini and he had the Veal Saltimbocca. Both meals were excellent. The service was great and the owner greets and seats every person.
I must say I was worried after reading some of the reviews, but was more than happy when we left.

There are a few things in my life that I have a weakness for: cannelloni and cannoli. And this restaurant has both. Should I be eating either of those things with my food allergies? Absolutely not. But sometimes, I don't care. And that was the best cannoli I have had in a while. I do wish that the menu had some description of the plates so I wouldn't have to ask a million questions about how it was prepared, but that's a small thing, and I'm sure most people that can eat food without feeling like they are going to die don't even notice. Came here with my grandparents after a Giants game, and when walking in, I realized I had been here before but apparently forgot the name. Overall, the food all looked good, mine was excellent and I am picky about Italian food because I really don't like anyone's other than my grandmothers.

Overall, the food was super tasty and real quality Italian food. Even down to their soups. Wine menu selection and tiramisu were additional perks! It was a great night to spend before a red eye flight out of SFO.

Lastly, Vincenzo the owner is such a darling. He spent some time with us entertaining us with his magic tricks. Impressive.

Vincenzo was so cute and funny that night we had dinner after our Napa trip. We were entertaining guests from Arizona and decided to cap the day with Italian food. Our friends were enamored with the restaurant's ambience and by Vincenzo himself. He did a cute coin trick to our delight. He went back to our table and showed his math prowess which impressed us. As we were finished off with our coffee and the complimentary marsala wine, he pulled a chair and did impressive card tricks! We were truly entertained as well as charmed and will certainly be back. For the food of course.

This place was great and hit the spot.  My wife and I went there together on a spur moment to get dinner.  I had combination  seafood plate and she had a very nice Italian dinner. We both enjoy the food!!! I think you just need to know what you are ordering and you will be fine.  Waiter and complete staff was very nice to us. 5 stars from KK!!

I'm a food snob for sure and living in south San Francisco has been driving me nuts with the lack of good restaurants.

This place is by FAR the best food and service that I've had since moving here half a year ago!

We were sat, greeted, and served by the owner who is super genuine and warm. His recommendations were perfect from the entrees to the wine.

Wifey wanted to try the gnocchi because we'd heard such great things but couldn't decide on the red sauce or pesto so Vincenzo brought a huge plate full of both sauces. We couldn't decide which was better but most def the best gnocchi we've ever had!

I had linguini tuto mare which is a bunch of seafood over pasta thing. It was really really good and the salmon just melted in your mouth it was so soft and cooked perfect!

The recommended chianti that he just grabbed real quick and brought to our table was fantastic.

We began with a couple glasses of house champaign that was lovely and a melon and prosciutto starter yum..

Minestrone was kills and not too filling just right and came with the entrees.

I'd read that on yelp a lot of folks get a complimentary glass of Marsala wine at the end of the meal so that didn't surprise me but the free desert for being new to the neighborhood made a great dinner even better. They offered two for free but were super stuffed so we chose a light tart thing that went perfect with the Marsala.

So two glasses of champaign,a bottle of delicious chianti, two large entrees enough to take home a box for lunch next day, and an appetizer for $100..

SNAP we spend average $150 on dinner all the time and are never this satisfied and so well-taken care of this is definitely my new favorite restaurant I'm getting hungry just writing this!

Seriously the service was sooo good we left a $30 tip on a $100 bill and were more than happy to do so I wish every place treated folks this well!!!

This restaurant offers some of the worst Italian food I have ever had in my entire life. First of all, I am not Italian but Italian food is my favorite and I had plenty of it in my life.  The restaurant has a very family and warm feeling. The wait staff is friendly and courteous. However, the food is absolutely horrendous. We started with a heart of romaine salad and minestrone. The romaine was covered in a pesto sauce and it wasn't bad. However, the minestrone tasted like something that came out of a can. For entree we had a white fish with butter sauce. The fish looked and tasted like pre-breaded frozen fillet from Costco. The sauce was flavorless and greasy.  They didn't even bother putting in shallots, garlic, and lemon to add some flavor to the sauce. Nope, just butter, oil and capers. The fish came with basic steamed carrot and broccoli and a spoon full of polenta. ($22)  The other dish we had was the classic Carbonara....

WARNING. The following was written under extreme stress and anger....

My favorite Italian dish is Carbonara. It's simple and delicious. I can make Carbonara in under 10minutes because that's how simple the recipe is. However, this restaurant manage to F'k it up so bad that a real Italian would have stormed into the kitchen and stabbed the chef in the eye.  The final product was like some cheesy crap from a box of Pasta Roni. (It's actually an insult to Pasta Roni to compare this crap to their product.)  Problem #1 They didn't use pancetta, instead they used cheap smoked bacon. The difference is that smoked bacon has a cheap chemical smoke taste, not delicious salty goodness of pancetta. #2 This restaurant chose to use Angle Hair pasta instead of Spaghetti. The logic is simple, angle hair pasta allows them to cut the coking time of the pasta in half. However, it's impossible to coke angle hair pasta al dente. The result is a mushy mess of a pasta dish. You can't separate each strand of pasta because they are all stuck together. #3 TOO MUCH CHEESE.... WTF are you trying to do? you are not making macaroni and cheese. The pasta is not suppose to be completely drenched in cheese.  By the time it came to the table, the pasta has hardened into a block of cold cheesy crap. At least have the decency of changing the name of this dish to Pasta with Cheese, not CARBONARA. If you don't want to make Carbonara then tell me so I can order something else. Don't trick me into eating crap that you made with an expectation of eating actual Carbonara. (They charge $15 for this crap)

I have no idea about the quality of their other dishes but I wouldn't expect much after they F'd up my Carbonara. Hi Ristorante Buon Gusto, where is the love, soul and care in your food? OH HEY, everyone that lives in South San Francisco, there is an awesome Italian restaurant 10minutes from you. It's called Stella Alpina in San Bruno. Go give them a try and taste the difference.  They have the same price and way better food.

1 Star for warm family ambiance

I thought the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Noise level didn't bother me. I felt my salmon dish did not come with many vegetables, especially for the price. It would have been nice to enjoy more broccoli or carrots. But the food was delicious. I would definitely go back.

It's more like 3.5, a little disappointed because it was really noisy and crowded. I was expecting a quiet dinner to catch up with an old friend but it turned into a shouting match because it was so loud.

The owner(?) came over and did a magic trick that was sort of amusing but the ambiance just wasn't there.

I ordered the Cioppino and it was extremely salty. I was disappointed at the food. We also ordered the calimari, it was chewy and I got a little sick of it after.

Service was slow, I guess it was a busy night, but when they did come over they were nice.

not at all as I remembered it to be. We where seated right where you came in to the place. nice but , very busy and noisy, lots of people coming in for dinner. Food was nice, I really can't say because I am recovering over the flu. But over all decent. The kicker is when I got the bill , looked it over. Was all correct. One of the Managers comes over and asked is everything was good. I said yes, The I said what happened to the house sweet wine after dinner, She said no one offered, Next thing she got the waiter to ask if we wanted some house wine for dessert. which we said yes to. I just wonder why this was not offered to us, because we are not regulars? or didn't fit the profile.

Grant on South San Francisco is a pretty interesting place. Basically I would say in general, that the best and safest eats are within a block of each other from the 101 side, no more than a block up. Venture any further up beyond that and you are taking a risk (with very few exceptions). Once you go past Ben Tre up the hill, I wish you good luck. We're talking MSG lane on the left, or crapville on the right, and maybe uber salty further up. Hairy scary casino esque dice roll. Don't make a mistake and turn right on Linden, not even during the day. Haven't been to the burrito/taco place yet which is supposed to be real good, so don't judge.

Buon Gusto falls within that safety zone, and serves up some of the best American style Italian in the area that puts Bertolucci's to utter shame, despite not even having spaghetti and meatballs on the menu, and there's no pizza either.

It was Saturday night (at least a few times recently) and it was just right. And get there early, it can get packed, even for solo diners at the bar (which isn't a bad spot to be either).

Polite and prompt service, simple 2 page menu of appetizers, pastas, and meat entrees (chicken, beef, veal), and seafood. Servers will also inform you of the daily specials (and don't miss out on them). For those that like lamb, it was offered recently.

Pasta dishes and entrees come with soup or salad, and almost all of my visits, were minestrone. Not done to the point where one ingredient component overwhelmed another, but a perfect balance, with a consistency leaning more towards a stew but still had a delicious liquid texture of soup. A far cry from Bertolucci's version which was forgettable. The only recognizeable veg in there was carrot, the rest had more or less dissolved into the soup.

Linguine with clams in white wine sauce - basically for any pasta you choose red or white sauce. Ironically this is also the case with Hong Kong style western...whether you want baked pasta or rice dishes with meat on top, you are asked whether you want red or white sauce....ie tomato vs alfredo cream. But if you want white wine sauce (non white cream) it's safest to specify. The rendition here, while not like some upscale pricey old world esque restaurant, still offers a hearty portion with tasty fresh clams on the shell (tho not as plump as some of the better Chinese restaurants that know how to pick them), with even more out of the shell clams diced up and mixed in on top with chopped Italian parsley on top of the linguine in the center. Overall this was quite lovely and I wouldn't want anything less, given the salty MSG and hairy scary choices beyond this part of the street....Capeeeeeeeeeesh?

Petrale sole daily special - sampled a piece of this and loved it. This fish I would have no idea how to best serve it from a Cantonese Chinese perspective, and in western cooking one would have to fry it, baked it/season/marinate it to make it palatable. Here BG egg batters the exterior and pan fries it to just the right consistency and texture (and of course lemon juice is inevitable). Soft boneless pure lemony and tasty delight. It was like eating lemon butter German pancakes good, but in a fish sort of way. Normally I would shy away from fish in most western restaurants simply because I disagree with the preparation methods, but BG has "restored my faith in fish cooking humanity".

Come to think of it I've eaten here many times in the 1990s (pre Yelp!) and it has always hit the spot, but lately they seem to have hit the spot even more. Or maybe it's because the owners quite possibly hail from the same state where I was born! Maybe I should treat myself to Nobu K's "Matrix Steak and Shrimp" (see his review!) sometime and wash it down with a Matrix Espresso.

Good for a large group, but if you want to get ripped off for a mediocre Italian meal, this is the place to go. We ordered 3 entrees: spagetti and meatballs for the kids ($17.50), my husband had linguini with seafood ($24) and I ordered the grilled seafood combo($25). Our bill totaled $87 without beverages. I had to eat again when I got home because my grilled seafood was unsubstantial, the taste was dull, and the quality of the ingredients was poor. My kids said the meatballs were dry and the pasta was so so. Sorry to give such a poor review because the owner and his staff seem nice, but the service was annoyingly slow (on a slow night), and, ultimately, the food is not worth the price. I could have eaten at Delfina for the same cost!

This place reminded me of Italian restaurants in ny. It was inviting and very "classic family Italian restaurant." I loved the food and atmosphere.

The food was pretty good, I ordered the spaghetti/meatballs and my boyfriend ordered a canneloni.  Both dishes were good but not super awesome, taste's like (insert older, foreign relative here) dishes.  However the dishes were just the right portion and the service was very kind and attentive, but sometimes too attentive.

I chose 3 stars because the food and atmosphere were nice but the waiter kept on trying to take our dishes away, mid-meal.  It got pretty awkward at times.  Also the price of the dishes were quite high for something not very spectacular.

    Not a bad place overall.

Boyfriend and I were wandering around looking for some wine and we stumbled upon this place. We kinda grazed over the menu and then decided to go elsewhere. Halfway out the door, the owner (?) followed us out and told us to come on in! :)

There were no two seats together at the bar but she asked a couple on the end to move over for us. Thanks! We looked over the menu and ordered a bottle of wine! The bartender was very helpful!

Although we were there for about 20 minutes (more than enough time to gulp down a bottle of wine) it really felt super homey. We didn't try the food but it all looked delish! The woman was very kind and friendly!

I came here alone, in South San Fran for the first time during a business trip. I had a glass of wine at the bar and chatted with the staff. Everyone was very nice. They even gave me a dessert and glass of wine on the house, both of which were lovely. They called me a cab so I didnt have to walk back to my hotel in the dark.

Would love to come back here for a proper dinner.

Eating at Ristorante Buon Gusto this weekend reminded me a lot of the movie "Sparkle" that I went to see prior to eating here.

The movie had great moments sprinkled in with what basically ended up being an average and ordinary story.

That's what my experience was like at Buon Gusto.  When first arriving we were greeted by a very friendly host named Julian.  After being seated, the waiter (an older Italian gentlemen) was so friendly and personable.  Salt of the earth type fellow, he was what, in my opinion made Buon Gusto "Sparkle".

Then came the menus, followed by the food being served.  Here's what we ordered:

Lasagna:  Portion size is on the very small side.  As far as the taste and ingredients it was ordinary or what I expected.

Veal Parmigiana:  a average sized cut of veal covered in universal red sauce melted with a generous amount of cheese.  This was a nice entree but it just didn't "Sparkle".

Cioppino:  this was my father's order and while he said it tasted fine, the portion was small and was basically just salmon with a few clams.

We both opted for salad before our entrees which was a fresh tasting garden salad.  Also the polenta served with the entrees was favorful.  Service was acceptable.  The ambiance has an old school feel, also there is a small bar area towards the back. Frank Sinatra was playing in the background.

But back to the movie, as I walked out of the theater I said to my friend I thought the movie was good but nothing spectacular and I don't feel the need to see it again or buy the DVD.  That's my thoughts on Buon Gusto as well, good but not spectacular, I don't feel the need to come back.

Excellent, excellent, excellent customer service. I had to drop a friend at SFO, and we only had about 40 minutes to eat and get going. Not only were they absolutely courteous about our time limit, but the food came out so quickly that we had more than enough time to spare.

I'm not the greatest food critic of Italian food, I admit. But I liked what I ate, minus the complementary bread at the beginning. I thought it was super hard, but my friend told me that its typical for Italians to eat their bread tough, so I guess it's pretty authentic? I had the Gnochi with Pesto, yuuuuummmy. The pasta was soft and freshly made, so much different from the packaged pasta that you can get from grocery stores. so I give a + on that!

Aside from the pasta, I really can't critic the food all too much since we didn't eat that much of a variety. But I liked what I ate!

Agent Smith: Do we have a deal, Mr. Reagan?

Cypher: You know, I know this steak doesn't exist. I know that when I put it in my mouth, the Matrix is telling my brain that it is juicy and delicious. After nine years, you know what I realize? Ignorance is bliss.

Agent Smith: Then we have a deal?

Cypher: I don't want to remember nothing. Nothing. You understand? And I want to be rich. You know, someone important. Like an actor.

Agent Smith: Whatever you want, Mr. Reagan.

Cypher: Okay. I get my body back into a power plant, re-insert me into the Matrix, I'll get you what you want.

Agent Smith: Access codes to the Zion mainframe.

Cypher: No, I told you, I don't know them. I can get you the man who does.

    Agent Smith: Morpheus.

    ....................................................................

I think that was the best steak eating and red wine drinking movie scene ever.
I like the Matrix because of it.
I have been thinking and wanting to eat the steak like that for a long time since when I saw the movie. So, I judge steak by it every time when I eat steak.
I own the dvd and I watch the steak scene so many times and I don't get tired of watchin'  it.

    So, I am sayin':

Nobu K. : You know, I know this steak does exist. I know that when I put it in my mouth, my mouth telling my brain that it is juicy and delicious. After 55 years, you know what I realize? Sizzler is BullShit."

Agent Smith: Then we have a deal?

Nobu K.:  I DO want to remember everything. Every single bite!!! You understand? And I don't want to eat prawns with steak. You know, something important? Beef and shrimp don't go together. Capisci?

Agent Smith: Whatever you want, Mr.Nobu K.

Nobu K. I get my body back into a power plant, re-insert me into the Matrix, I'll get you what you want.

Agent Smith: Access codes to the Bank Account?

Nobu Kr: No, I told you, I don't know them. I can get you the stinky chowmein.

    Agent Smith: morphine.

    Something like that.

Btw, I really like the cozy atmosphere and friendly good service. The place was so busy when we were there, 10 of us.  The place was full house. So, our food was late, but our waiter told us as advance,  the kitchen situation,  So, we were OK. Many times when you have a busy waiter or waitress, they often forget to tell you that your order going to be late.
Don't you hate the moment, that anxiously wanting for your food to come?  Especially in a restaurant you are a bit dressed up?
    But, not here.
And the steak was perfect Medium Rare. It means that the kitchen was under control even though busy night.

I think the place is the best Italian on Grand Avenue, South San Francisco.
    I'll be back again.

We went for mothers day and found the food to be quite good. Both The Veal Picata and Scallopini were first rate. I always ask for an extra slice because in the past i felt they were not giving me enough to eat. The Minestrone was very good, as it always is and my son thought his dinner salad was good as was his Clam Spaghetti.

One thing that annoyed me were the prices of the deserts. $8.50 for A Creme Brulee that was no properly carmelized on the top and came without the rasperries described in the menu. An italian cake for a similar price about the size of a half of a normal piece of cake. Stick with the excellent Spumoni Ice cream for $5.50 and call it a day.

Does this place order their food from Safeway and serve it to their customers at a high price?
I have to give this place a 1 star 0 if possible because their food wasn't prep by themselves. How?

Service was not bad but it wasn't good, their owner seem to be kinda discriminating when an Asian couple walks in. I asked what a tortellini was and he explained to me in italian terms. WTF man that's not helping your customer. That's like you going to a sushi place and their waiter speaks Japanese to you when you ask what certain type of fish is it.

Anyways we ordered the Bolognese and Linguini w/ Clams cause we don't know know any place that could mess up those 2 dishes, man we were wrong

Soup was straight up from Campbell cans and it was kinda cold when they serve it. Nothing original about it , I couldve microwave it myself
My gf had their salad, well how do you screw up a salad? By not using fresh veggies and their dressing taste like italian dressing from Safeway

GF's  Spaghetti Bolognese arrives, it tasted like those frozen microwave dinner plates that you could get from Safeway, and my Linguini had two types of clams: One came from cans and the other was with the shell, and man I was eating rocks and sands from those. Did they even bother to wash them before cooking?
That linguini was soak with butter and oil, I should've taken a picture of how horrible it was.

At the end of our meal that we couldnt wait to get out of, their waiter pour two shots of he called "desert" along with the expensive bill. He didn't even bother to tell me there's alcohol in it! You couldve been drinking and driving if you are not careful and got pulled over.

We got into SFO late on a Tuesday night hungry and hoping that we could find something decent that was not from a franchise restaurant. What a surprise find!

Ristorant Buon Gusto's food was the best Italian since an anniversary trip to Rome and Sorento. We had the specialties that were offered: Petrale sole prepared in a piccata style, chicken marsala, and a pasta with ham and tomato sauce. All were very nicely done. The sole was terrific. For dessert we shared two desserts, and both were excellent.

On the way back to SFO to return to the east coast we at there again. They had the same specialties, so we choose the home-made lasagna and veal saltimbocca. I knew that the lasagna was good because my wife seemed reluctant to share, but once she gave in I found that it was indeed very well done.

On both occasions the wait staff was friendly and helpful. The after dinner marsala was a nice touch.

Buon Gusto, with it's "hole-in-the-wall" appearance on Grand Avenue in South City, is a real find. I've dined there easily 20 times and the mark of a decent restaurant IMO is consistency in the application of their recipes. I'm a big fan of Gnocchi, and at Buon Gusto it doesn't get any better, especially ordered with their Pesto sauce. The first time i ordered it, i inquired whether the sauce was cream  or oil based. The waiter indicated it was cream, HOWEVER, if i wanted it to be oil based, it would not be a problem. WOW!!! A place were the customer IS always right! I like it, but i loved the Gnocchi with Pesto, so I've ordered it every time since. i don't even pick up a menu, nor do i order the same at any other Italian Restuarant this side of Milan. I can also recommend the Calamari Vinegarette Salad, any of the veal dishes, the Filet of Sole, and the Carbonara.

I know many of you have driven or walked by and never considered it due to the somewhat shabby appearance of Grand Avenue. You are making a big mistake. This is classic Italian dining, in a warm atmosphere, with good, accomodating service. Believe me, those that have graded Buon Gusto with a 1 star experienced rare poor service.

Ate there last night with the fam in a private room in the back - there was 20 of us.  Been here before, many times.  Last night, it was my sis's b-day celebration so we all gathered to partake in some hilarity and good times.

I had the minestrone which was good, but not great, and the veal parmigiana which was real good.  Huge piece of young calf, pounded flat, breaded nicely, nice sauce, big slap of Parmesan cheese on top - I was in heaven.

The restaurant was pretty crowded when we left at 9:00p.m.  The place has nice atmosphere, not too bright, not too dim, not too noisy, etc.

We know the owner, so, he does it right for us.  If he didn't, we'd have him killed.
