A very disappointing experience. We had three in our party to start. The first individual ordered the veal marsala. He related that it had a strange flavor and was dry and tough. Guest number 2 ordered a burger. It was big enough but he too reported it was dry and disappointing. I ordered the stuffed shrimp. Stuffing was copious but lacked flavor and it too was dry and not appetizing at all. My vegetables were a fresh sauteed mix but were over salted. A fourth joined us about 3/4 through the meal. He ordered the tiramisu and stated it tasted like it might have been two days or more old. Our waitress Pat was genial and attentive but her satisfactory service did not offset an otherwise dismal dining experience. Overall grade a C-. This was compounded by the fact that management refused to honor a http://Restaurant.com certificate that was displayed on the smartphone. They insisted they must have a printed copy despite the fact that http://Restaurant.com has made provisions to simply allow customers to display the smartphone version. This seemed to be too much effort for these untech saavy individuals. Suggestion: Avoid this place!
Review Source:Calamari was decent... not rubbery, so that's always good! Washed it down with some Yuengling.
I was there during an interesting transitioning time. . . a band was playing a ton of random pop and rock music, which made it sound more like a bad night of karaoke in which someone hogs the mike all night. Â Then, they were prepping the place to open the floor and turn it into a club. I wasn't feeling either of these atmospheres, so if I go back, it'd be earlier or later.
I'm a fan of this restaurant. Â The catering is fantastic. Â I threw my friends bridal shower in the back room and all I had to pay for was the food, there was no charge to rent the room. That is very hard to find. Â They are extremely well kept and clean. Â Service is impecable. Their vodka sauce is the best I've ever had. The stuffed portobello mushroom appetizer is delicious and huge! It's under $7 and it's the size of an entree!
Great place to unwind and have a glass of wine. Â They also have live entertainment.
I'm always a happy camper when I go there.
This place is terrible!!!! I ordered a drink from one bartender and it was 4.50 when I ordered the same drink from another bartender she up charged the same drink by 2 dollars. Â When I told the owner, he yelled at me with a bar full of people.... I will never come back here again. It's trashy and disrespectful !!!!!
Review Source:My sister and I came here before going to the paramount theater for a classic movie. I would have given this place four stars if it wasn't for the service, or lack thereof. First of all when we went in to be seated we were virtually ignored for some time, before someone, a nice woman in fact, took charge and seated us. A lot of the poor service centered around a young man that seemed to be meandering around in a semi dazed fashion not knowing what was going on. It was because of him I waited twenty minutes for my beer after ordering it as well. In fact it took so long to be served and for our food to arrive, we had to ask immediately for doggie bags so we could make it to our movie in time, very irritating as we'd come over an hour an half before the movie. My meatball parm sub was delicious by the way, my sister said her manicotti was decent, not great. It was a nice beer selection, and a nice bar. Portions were as others have said, extremely generous.
Review Source:We've been going here ever since I moved to Middletown when I was in middle school. I never went for the bar scene, but for a good Italian dinner it sure beats Olive Garden.
The menu offers quite a few pasta and other entree choices, and the portions of whatever you go for are ridiculous. I love their ravioli here! Not only are the portions huge, but the bill won't be...it's incredibly cheap for a nice, fancy sit-down dinner. Service is always very pleasant.
Only problem is that parking is limited and this place fills up quite a bit, especially on weekend nights, so definitely make a reservation.
Huge portions, consistent quality good value. A-/B+ with a touch of home cooked. feel I know Mayor Joe is sometimes back there and his sister runs the waitstaff very well. I HATE carrot cake, would never eat it until I had the homemade, one of the waitresses makes it...the best. Had a number of functions there, communions, Surprise parties, great selection of private rooms. they should do something a little more with the adjacent raw bar...a wine bar perhaps, now that the wine store is opening on the corner?
Review Source:Ended up here twice for dinner this week. I like the layout of the place, feels pretty classy without being stuffy. Price points were right on target. Most pastas seemed to be between 11 to 14 bucks. And the portions were huge, and very filling. Very rich food. Not fantastic, but good solid food. Really loved the side salad- though it was spendy a la carte. Homemade blue cheese dressing is killer. Â And fresh bread and butter with dinner is always a plus in my book! Â Service is friendly. You could have a fancy dinner here, with friends, or just a sandwich and beer alone, either way you'd feel welcome.
Review Source:Old school Italian American fare meets pub/sports bar atmosphere and they pull off. The neat and clean Spacious Dining room is seperated from bar area nicely by floor ceiling glass making it quiet but not clostrophobic.
Food ranges from basic chicken , veal, and seafood sautes , parms, & broiled dishs. Standard bar food also wings burgers salads sandwichs and of course abundant daily specials.
Food is not "gourmet" but is always fresh ,satisfying, prepared well and served hot with large portions. I have to say there strong point is how steaks are preared always cooked as ordered & great quality As for the Italian food like stated old school lots of heavy red sauce with tremendous portions . Good selecion of tap and bottled beers, modest but adequate wines by glass or bottle fairly priced.
Service can be spotty but usualy is friendly and efficient . Prices are fair ranging from about 6 - 35 most falling in the 13 range making it our go to place as should you.
