A phoenix from the ashes: hooray, this place is open again! I went here with about 20 friends for my birthday. We had an amazing time! Even though the majority of songs are not in English, we never ran out of choices and stayed for 5 hours!  The rooms are spacious and clean and  full of fun party/disco lights. We brought our own drinks and ordered pizza from the place downstairs (also very good). In addition to pizza/ Italian, there's also Chinese/Japanese, and Indian takeout/delivery in the same plaza. It was great to find a private room, karaoke place on this side of the bridge. Everyone said they loved the place and had fun. The room has tambourines and a good size space to dance for your non-singing friends. All in all, I couldn't say enough nice things about the place. They even let everyone pay individually, so I didn't have to collect money from all of my friends. Bathrooms were spotless too.  I just can't wait to go back again.
Update **** 10/2/12****I went a few months ago with my friends and they did try to over charge us. Â We had always been able to pay per person for as long as we stayed (individually) This last time, even after our friends left, and paid, they tried to charge us the balance of the amount they said they owed (for the remaining hours we stayed) Â Confusing to explain. They ended up charging us correctly, so I still give them 5 stars, but in the future, they told us that we have to pay for the room for each person for as long as the latest part of the group stays... make sense? Â I think I am making this more confusing :-)
I am a karaoke lover and heard about this place from a chick that had made it to Hollywood on American Idol. Â I took a bunch of my friends there one Saturday night, the guys bitched and moaned and didnt want to go but once we got there, I couldn't get the dorks off the mike. Â The karaoke tracks are a bit electronic and the asian music videos that go along with songs are HIGH-larious but after a few drinks and some tinkering with the korean remote we got the disco ball going and started shaking the tambourines like crazy. Â Between singing "it's raining men" and my Karaoke classics we had a blast. Â There were 7 of us and we paid $130 bucks for 3 hours and it was totally worth it. Â My peeps want to go back again. Plus they give you 30% off cards for the next time you go. Â Too bad i dont know korean or japanese or tagalog otherwise it would have been nuts. Â 4 words - I HEART this place!
Review Source:This place isn't that bad... and the people who work here are nice.
Some pros:
- Nice people
- Liquor (mainly BYOB)
- It sits above a restaurant that serves soup dumplings (aka: siu long bao)
- It's open late in NJ (nothing is ever open late in NJ!)
- "Dick in a Box" as a song choice (hilarity ensues when sung; Ladies, here's a tip- sing this song for your manfriend... it is both disturbing and sexy. Â Or maybe neither, but it's still funny.)
Some cons:
- Easy to miss the turn when you're trying to find it
- Kind of expensive
- Not the best rooms
- Not sound proof so people outside are subjected to my terrible, horrible, off-key singing.. and don't lie to me scoring karaoke machine thing! Â I know I only got a 95 because I sung really, really loud. Â There's more to singing than just volume karaoke machine thing! It's also about pitch!
That's pretty much it.
