DJ's Hotdog Co. is one of the best hotdog shacks I've stumbled upon in Indianapolis. Their food is delicious and the employees are very friendly and seem to not hate their jobs. There is plenty of seating in the restaurant and there are windows and TVs to keep you company if you're eating alone. They serve hotdogs, burgers, chili, fries, corndogs, and several other things, and everything that I've had so far has been wonderful. I would highly recommend going the combo route as it is the best bang for your buck. With the combo, you get the main feature to your meal, and then fries and a fountain drink.

My favorite items so far have been the Kansas City dog and the New York dog (both involve sauerkraut). The Kansas City dog included a large beef hotdog (get the jumbo frank for an extra buck!) on a bun with Swiss cheese topped with sauerkraut. The New York dog was similar, but with spicy mustard and sauerkraut--both amazing. I can't wait to try the Atlanta dog, among other chili cheese dogs, when I'm feeling ready to tackle something sloppy. With any hotdog choice, you are able to pick either a regular bun or a poppy seed bun. I always spring for the poppy seed bun, which is at no extra cross. Why not, right? The meal, as combos, average around $8 to $9, and I think that's pretty alright. Check it out!

Nice clean place. Staff friendly and polite.
Dogs were good, although I didn't care much for the bun, I thought they were kind of chewy. My lunch partner liked the buns, so it is a matter of taste.
Plenty of options. I will try again.

Although I fail to see how what is essentially a chili cheese dog with jalapenos is at all reminiscent of San Antonio or a hot dog with grilled onions and cheese is associated with Atlanta, the hot dogs are juicy and sizeable.  The best of the lot include the Italian sausage and the vaunted Chicago dog (remember, no ketchup!).  You can't beat this price either if you want a quick meal.  Just not a fan of those fries: those crinkle cuts are in need of an upgrade.

Add friendly staff and this is one of my favorite lunch places in the food court just outside of IUPUI...

    I get cravings.

Today I had an uncanny desire for a hot dog.  I figured I would take a shot on DJ's.

The setup is a pleasing one.  Its a bifurcated two cash register system providing speedy delivery of your dog.

The menu is exciting.  Pretzel Buns!  Cole Slaw as a topping! Different mustards!  Regionally named Hot Dogs that I cant really prove exist at said local....seriously I'm supposed to take it on faith alone that an Atlanta Dog exist?

As far as I'm concerned there is only one true regional hot dog:The Chicago Dog.  You know the drill poppy bun, relish, pickle, mustard, and peppers.

The verdict: not bad..... I'm not going to go all hot dog conisseur on y'all and talk about the hot dog's snap and flavor profile  but I will say the dog could have better .  It was unremarkable but still good.  And the price was right.

Recommendation: gotta do something about those fries.  Crinkle cut doesn't cut it....especially if they aren't cooked perfect.

Great choice of buns, (regular, poppy-seed, pretzel)...perfectly steamed. Crinkle fries were good. The large was not enough to share. Hotdogs were delicious. Friendly ambiance. We'll definitely go again.

First visit: we tried a Chicago dog and a brat on a pretzel bun (and an order of fries).  Chicago: just as it should be, right down to the sport peppers and celery salt.  Brat: moist and flavorful (pretzel bun: steamed to perfection).  Fries: crinkle.  Staff is friendly and fast.  The decor is clean and modern, with exposed duct work.
