This place had a lot of potential but fell pretty short. I definitely enjoyed the food and atmosphere but the service was so slow we missed our event afterwards! Â Even after asking for our check we had to wait over 10 minutes to even sign. That is not acceptable.
The beignets had the right texture and heat but had a fishy after taste like they were fried in the same grease as the catfish. The place had a very unorganized feeling with dirty tables for over an hour after people left, no drink refills and incredibly slow service. I hope to be back because I really think this place could be great.
This was the blandest Cajun/creole food I have ever had, not to mention service was slow. The food was lukewarm with no spice or flavor apart from the overly cheesey shrimp etouffee. The salad was a lump of iceberg lettuce with what tasted like cheap shredded cheddar and Kraft brand ranch. I would not go back, and this does nothing to fill the void Zing left when it went out of business at that same location. I hope they pay more attention to adding heat and spice to their food and less to chatting with fellow waitstaff, or they have no future as a restaurant when Yats is right on Mass Ave.
Review Source:My coworkers and I went for the lunch buffet. Â They had a nice array of foods, including a salad bar, tilapia, fried creole chicken wings, noodles with alfredo and mushroom sauce, red beans and rice, sausage gumbo, and mashed potatoes and gravy. Â We were all pleased and, for $9.99, we definitely got our money's worth. Â We ordered a plate of beignets for dessert, they were fresh and delicious!
The service was extremely friendly. Â She was delightful. Â She also shared that the lunch buffet changes each day, which is exciting for us given we work only a few blocks away.
I would say we had a great experience. It wasn't the very best food I've ever eaten, but it was a really nice and cost-effective experience.
