Steak N Shake

After a GREAT night out with my best friends all I wanted was some good hangover food. My bestest friend, Jorge, suggested Steak & Shake. We sat down excited for milkshakes, burgers, and dogs. We ordered and waited...and waited...and waited. We got our subpar food after a good 30 min and then we had to remind the manager about our shakes. He seemed unconcerned they were never served in a timely manner. We never had contact with our original waiter after he took our order. He was content to ignore us. The waiter (who needed a haircut) went on to spill a glass of water at another table and refused to clean it up!!Poor service. Poor food. Thank the Good Lord for my best friends, Jorge, Michelangelo, and Tucker, or else this trip would have been a compete waste!

I love Steak & Shake...was so glad to stumble upon this when I was looking for a quick bite to eat at lunch today.  The service was fantastic - very, very friendly, the food came out quickly and was consistently good and the restaurant is in a great location.

I just stumbled upon a review for Steak N Shake and it totally took me back to my childhood.  I grew up in the midwest and live in Phoenix now, and besides fall leaves and IU sports, I have to say Steak N Shake ranks up there with things I miss most!  Gotta have the triple steakburger, those awesome skinny fries, and of course...a vanilla shake.  Maybe you wouldn't, and probably shouldn't :) go there every day, but man do I miss that good stuff.  Oh, and another good memory from that place?  Seeing Mellencamp roll up on his Harley with his then wife Elaine Irwin.  If it's good enough for him, it's good enough for me.  As he might sing, "forget about all that macho stuff and learn how to eat a steakburger!"
