I never give 1 star without telling the place about their food quality, and I gave 1 star & not 0 because David D.'s service was impeccable. Â Clearly a winner, if not mgmt. material. Â But the woes were clear. Â The heat vent over out table was murder. Â I asked to them to take a log off the fire but to no avail. Â David was great, he followed-up to make sure the TV got changed from rhetoric to ESPN. Â
The meatloaf I ordered a year ago could use more grilling since although it was tasty it's look and mouthfeel inside was "grey, tasty dogfood for people." Â So 3 months ago I asked for extra grilling and I ask politely two (2) times which makes it where the waiter can't say "I didn't hear you." Â And it was not grilled extra. Â So I wanted to try it really grilled so today I asked two (2) times politely for extra grilled so it was crispy and it was not. Â I told David but filled up on cole slaw and onion strings. Â
The low rating is their cheddar mashed tomatoes. Â To make Ram cheddar mashed taters they dice a tomato that's under-ripe and has plenty of seeds and they add mashed potato with no cheddar to the tomato seeds and diced tomato. Â Then they put the meatloaf prepared contrary to request and add thin brown oil liquid with no salt to the onion strings to make the crispy onion strings soggy. Â They crisp up the onion strings to make them soggy. Â Watch Gordon Ramsay slam a place's crispy calamari that they make soggy. Â The cool waiiter David said the manager is gathering more negative feedback to "tweak" the dish and he gave the feedback to the manager w/no sense to apologize. Â Bye-bye business dollars from us business travelers. Â Just dumb.
The beers are super tasty. Â Thursdays are $2 drafts except seasonal. Â There are check in deals for Yelp and Foursquare. Â Armadillo Eggs are yummers. Â Steak salad is mediocre on triangle shaped plate; it's annoying to eat. Â Awesome burger thoughts... Cuban sandwich on a burger, Reuben sandwich on a burger, and a bunch other. Â The Ricardo was tasty, sweet potato fries were normal expectation. Â We had the cheese dip appetizer twice. Â One night was scraping the bottom of the barrel, one night was yummers. Â Nix the pitas it comes with and just get extra tortilla chips. Â Staff was acceptable, but preoccupied. Â Manager was super friendly. Â The menu is expansive, the food sounds and looks good, but needs to step it up a bit in taste. Â The bar is big and oddly shaped.
