I used to go to this same place years ago when it was a different name and it was a dive...the dog & bull completely made a difference..the beer selection is great.I like taverns and import beer...I live nearby and go to this bar maybe once week or so and I must say this new place is pretty goo.there's good jazz bands and good beer.I've only had food there once and it was also good...I'm also friendly with the bouncers.they remember my face.however I recently went with my mother and her boyfriend and the bartender JACK was rude from the second we walked in..and for some reason it my mother he decided he didn't like.she asked him a couple questions some drinks and he was real short with her like she was bothering him..at this point we were only on our second drinks when he started to be rude again and this time I chimed in and asked him why he's being rude..he continued to be loud at me and told me to get out...I have never in my life been kicked out of the bar for anything and I couldn't believe his behavior..I have never encountered a bartender that was as rude as him..I will be speaking to the owner..andy..about this fellow..this place is a great place...it would be 5 star if the owner supervised his bartenders a little closer.overall though good food and good drinks

Met an old co-worker for lunch at Dog and Bull.  Their website was rather impressive; the beer list is fairly large and unexpected for a bar in Croydon so we decided to give it a try.  From their expansive website I was expecting a larger, newer bar but as I drove up it looked like a typical dive.  When we walked in we were greeted by the bartender and several men sitting on the other side of the bar and at high top tables.  Either the community of Croydon is very friendly or all of these men worked at the bar (I suspect the latter.)  We sat in the dining room area; the chairs and table were awkwardly short.  We ordered some nice Micro brews; however I had to ask the server for water twice, I guess I am used to places just giving water to everyone upon arrival.  I had the portobella sandwich, and he had a chicken wrap.  They both came with fries that were just ok.  Both sandwiches were fine, but nothing stood out as exceptional or unique.  The server was attentive enough, despite the water incident.  I think I would go back again for beers but probably not for the food.

Tried Dog and Bull on Wednesday night and WOW was I impressed.  The place is a little restaurant right in front of Croydon train station and when I say little I mean little.  In the dinning room area it holds about 6 tables and they seem to fill up very quickly and I have to say this is the only negative about this place.   I couldn't make it into the bar area to see if tables were in there or not.  The food was awesome.   I had the cheese steak with fries and my husband had a build a burger.  My cheese steak was really tasty and the roll was nice and soft just the way I like it.  I upgraded for a buck to the parm fries and I'm so happy that I did.  They were cooked perfectly crispy and seasoned to perfection.  My husbands burger was really great and he loved that it was only 50 cents to add any topping he wanted.  He went with Cheddar cheese, Pork Roll, and Bacon.  Why would you add pork roll and bacon you might wonder because he could :).  Definitely a must try for next time you are in Croydon area.

Went for the first time tonight. First, great beer selection, both on tap and bottles. We ordered the loaded nachos with pulled pork. The pork was tender and flavorful and the nachos were covered in a beer cheddar sauce that was delicious. For my meal, I ordered the roast pork sandwich. The pork was clearly roasted in house and the roll it was on was fresh. It was served with fries that appeared to be hand-cut.

This place is a hidden gem and I will be back frequently.

My beloved Dog and Bull, how I love you.

I come here quite often. At least once a week or so. Their food is good, though the Fish and Chips are not, and the brunch is very good. Lots of variety here - you can get your typical burgers of course, but there's also buffalo shrimp balls (a favorite of mine!), hummus plate, chicken marsala, etc. Their beer list is also impressive.

I love how their daily desserts always have some type of alcohol in them. The waitstaff are always knowledgeable though they aren't ALWAYS friendly...it depends. Also, they have live music nearly all the time! Movie nights are on Tuesdays and they have special flat bread pizzas for those. Highly recommended.

WOW.  Best lunch I have had in forever.  Fish and chips completely rocks, my wife said her burger was great and cooked exactly how she likes.  Service at the bar was excellent and made some great recommendations.  Beer selection is mind blowing, whiskey infusion of blackberries and gummy bears was a nice finish.  I can't wait to come back to try more stuff on the menu.  This place is awesome.

Went here on Sunday night to grab a quick late dinner.  Service was awful.  Bartender was wolfing down her hamburger at the bar and totally disinterested in customer service. Although only 8:00 PM, obvious that some patrons had been over served and were obnoxiously drunk with excessive use of foul language. My husband was served flat beer even though the waitress stated she knew it was flat...at $4-$6 a glass, the beer shouldn't be flat.   Even though we ordered food, we left before it came (which was taking an excessively long time, even though it was not busy at all).  Manager needs to have some supervision of this place on Sunday night!  I won't go here again.  Too bad because I really liked this place.

Good craft beer selection, good food (great desserts!) and live entertainment every night. You can't go wrong with this place, that's for sure.

The food is always great. There is a vast variety of beer from around the world. It is small in there, so on weekend nights, it can be tough getting a table.

Brunch at Dog and Bull was a miss. Eggs were luke warm, homefries were cold. Dining room was freezing, maybe that's why the food got cold so quickly. TV was blaring. Coffee is really bad and the OJ was not fresh and tasted like it was from Sysco. Only saving grace was the bloody mary served up nice and spicy in a Ball jar.

This place is great for drinks, dinner, and even lunch but brunch is pretty terrible. But I'm not going to let it ruin my Sunday, currently brewing a fresh pot of the good stuff from home.

Recently my wife and I have been making a point of stopping in for dinner every Friday when possible, and this place absolutely delivers. You wouldn't know it from the outside, but this place has an incredible vibe once you walk in. While the place is a little on the small side and when busy, it can be a little frustrating to wait for a table, the staff has always been warm, welcoming, and accommodating. After stopping in a few times, the manager, who doesn't forget a face, always greets us with a smile and a handshake. Having that kind of personal touch is a huge plus.

The food?  I'm no foodie, so I'm not the best judge, however I haven't had a bad meal here, ever. Whether its just apps or a full course, the food is creative, flavorful, and affordable. The weekend specials are always creative and worth ordering, and the variations on the dog ears appetizers usually always deliver.

As for the beer selection, it's a huge plus to have another craft beer destination in the area, especially one where you can enjoy a craft beer without being in a room full of smoke. However, the beer selection usually is made up of local and east coast brews. While this is isn't a bad thing (we have some of the best breweries here in the northeast), it would be great if the tap selection was more varied to include more beers from the Midwest and west coast. The bottle selection somewhat remedies this, but if the tap list was more geographically varied, this place would be a must stop for beer geeks in Philly and Bucks county.

Also to note, the live music acts are almost always interesting and entertaining. You won't find any current top 40 cover bands here, you'll either find a great sounding jazz or funk band for dinner on Friday, or some acoustic or blues acts on Friday or Saturday nights.

Overall, this is a great, great place for the Croydon, Bensalem, and Langhorne areas.  If they up their ante with the tap selection, which I hope they will, they will be the complete 5 star pub destination in the area.

So my husband has decided this is his new place! He loves beer and discovering new beers. The manager (Andrew) even specially ordered a beer he requested. Now me I'm not a beer drinker but I enjoy their cocktails quite a bit.  Their burgers are very good. But the real reason I show up is try their desserts they always have a creative special on the menu I haven't been disappointed yet! Last night our server was even exceptional Jessica is funny knowledgable and kind. Go here try the food and broaden your beer knowledge but make sure if their dessert special sounds good you save room :)

The food is tasty and fresh. Nice options is you want salads and soups. Priced reasonably. I think priced right and best for families. Our server-I think her name was Wendy, maybe Michelle, was great, easygoing and just perfectly accommodating.
The place was recommended by my family, and I agree with Jerry S. It is just what the area needed and refreshing not to be a chain.
For a Saturday night, not terribly loud, but the bar dine travels to the small adjoining dining area. I don't like noisy places, but I wasn't bothered by the bar noise level.

I've been here 4 nights out if the last 5. If you dont go here for the food you're doing yourself a serious injustice.

Let me 1st start by saying that I normally do not participate in doing this sort of thing however, this place deserves it!
I have been there a few times with a few guys I work with for an afternoon lunch / get together and a few more time with my wife and I. The food is spectacular and the service is great too. (Except the Wednesday day bartender. He has no idea what he is doing and belongs on a SIFI television show rather than being behind the bar. The funny thing is I think he said he was a partner. lol)
The beer selection is BIG and the draft is on a steady rotation. My wife and I love the new additions on the menu, especially the "Crab Mac & Cheese".
If you are a foodie and like weird hole in the wall's you have to do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a night out at this place. Live music + awesome beer + fun staff (manager Andy) = A kick Ass time.

So, I havent been here in a year. Back then, I went on a Saturday night (I think) and it was kinda dead and if you wanted food, you had to order from the pizza place down the road. This time? Holy crap this place has changed.

The food. The food is perfection. I had the sampler, the "No Bull" burger, and 2 desserts......yes, I'm a fatty. But I hadn't tried the food yet and wanted to see what the fuss was all about. Its been almost 24hrs and Im still talking to my friends about the food.

The "No Bull" Burger is a fresh burger topped with pulled pork, bacon, onion rings and your choice of toppings. Its cooked to order and it dripping with awesome. You HAVE to try this burger. Its a big deal. Its huge. Its awesome. I want to leave my girlfriend for it. The handcut garlic parmesan fries that come with the burger are out of this world too. So good.

The sampler consisted of deep fired pickle chips, buffalo shrimp balls, risotto croquettes and "dog ears". Im just going to spare you the time and tell you to get it. You wont be disappointed.

The desserts were amazing too. I dont even like dessert, but these were delicious.

The chef must have the mindset he is working in a fancy pants NYC restaurant with the food thats being served here. Its so good, so fresh. I will be coming back here for sure.

Next up is the beer list and staff. Fred was our bartender. He helped me choose from their huge list of brews. Even in a packed bar, I was never without a full drink for more than a few minutes. Awesome. The door man was a huge guy with tattoos....who was nice as hell. Talked with him for a bit, funny guy.

Again, the food here is very good. I cant get over how good it is. Might be the best meal Ive had in a while.

I hate to say this but, as a regular Friday night patron, I have seen this place go downhill. I LOVED the food and the beer and I really wanted to see them succeed. However, the food has gone WAY down.  The fries are awful...not sure how you can do fries bad but they are managing. I went tonight for my birthday, just as a last chance for them since they have been so bad lately. Unfortunately, I can't say they have improved. Not sure what happened...just a few short months ago they were amazing. Now they are just BLAH! Believe me, I have given them way too many chances. Tonight my service was very slow and the food once again was very mediocre. UGH! I hate to say this but I am done:( I loved this place a few months ago but am not feeling well tonight after my awful meal and poor service.  Not going back! I've gone from being there EVERY Friday night to trying it and HOPING it would be better to saying...goodbye!

Went back for my birthday, even though its a bit of a hike now, because we wanted to try the food. We weren't disappointed. The burgers were amazing. I like that the menu suggests beer pairings for each item.

    Beer selection = 5 stars
    Food = 2 stars
    Service = 2 stars
The Dog And Bull goes through the motions
The beer selection is excellent - nothing more to say about that.
Our bartender was adequate at best. Not very friendly and more interested in getting the heck out of dodge then in serving us. Her time was mostly spent counting money and going over her drawer with her replacement.
My girl had a burger and it was decent - cooked to her liking which isn't the easiest thing to do - this would have given them 5 stars for food except for my cheese steak. My cheese steak was the worst I have ever had - and that includes WaWa. For $10, the meat tasted like it was stewed. The grease was soaking through the roll which can be a good thing except that this grease was nasty. There was hardly any cheese or onions on it and the roll was quite stale. The waitress pretended not to notice that I only ate half (the top half of the roll where the cheese lived).
There were a total of four customers there but I think the staff said a total of 10 words to us the entire time. The jukebox was turned up all the way even though the room was empty. When I go to a bar with such a killer selection and only have one beer something is very very wrong.
There was no point in complaining as it was obvious an 'F' was not given. Upon leaving, not even a "Thank you come again" like we would get at 7-11.
Go there for beer , to hear a band, and/or to hook up.

Keep in mind, I was here before they opened their kitchen so I did not experience their food. However, this place rocks. It is small and in an odd location.  Don't let that stop you.  Great beer selection.  Great atmosphere. Great live entertainment. Great bartenders. Small bathrooms, but that's not a big deal.

Might just be the best pub in all of Bucks County! Has a great beer selection, like Newportville and Humeville. But, the food is fantastic.

Who knew a craft beer bar was located in Croydon? I sure didn't. The areas not the best, but there is plenty of parking behind the bar at the train station. I wonder how happy hour is once people get off the train after work. The place inside is very small. The bar area fills up quick and there is a small seating area in the back. Bathrooms are also in the back. If someone is doing a #2, then be prepared to wait.

I walked in for the first time, Irish music was playing loud over the speakers, and soccer and ruby were on the TVs. So I felt this is my kind of place. Overall I had a good experience. The staff was friendly, helpful, and nice. They took care of us. They had a good mix of beers on tap. If you can't find something on tap, then I'd prefer taking a look at the bottle selection. I'd prefer if they had a larger area to tell patrons their current tap offerings. They had free Wi-Fi which is a plus.

The beer was good and the food was great. I thought it was funny ordering the hummus app at a bar in Croydon. But it was very good and high quality. My pork sandwich and fries were excellent. I need to stop here again to try some more beers and food.

Nice Local Lower Bucks Co spot. Good craft beers bottled and tap. Nice music after 9pm. Sweet bartender Scott keeping it all together Clean inviting atmosphere. This place is relatively new and they need to get a bigger following. No kitchen yet but they say that's coming. In the mean time you can order out from local pizza places and such. So nice to have something like this that is nonsmoking and close to home. Move over Hulmeville, there's a new Dog and Bull in town!!!l  Give it it a try

Craft beers in Croydon.  Are you kidding me?  No, it's true.  This place used to be a local craphole, a wild west saloon in Croydon.  Not the place you want to go to chill out and have a few beers, unless you want to get hit or the head or worse.  Now that seems to have changed.   I stopped in there with a friend who lives up there, and they had ten or twelve craft beers on tap.  They had Sly Fox Octoberfest when I was there and I don't think I've seen that on tap any other place.  The bartender, Fred, said they plan on having live music most nights and they are always rotating the beers on tap so I guess I have to put this place on a regular visit schedule.  Oh, the bathrooms were super clean.  It that matters to you. It will when I take my wife there.   So clean place, great beer selection on tap, if they only had decent food it would be a five star pub.   Fred the bartender said the kitchen was coming, but hey it's worth the trip for the beer selection alone.
