I went here for my birthday and it was a great, environment. Â Not a big place, but not cramped either. Â I was a bit disappointed that the waitress had no idea what nigori sake was, so we settled for regular hot sake. Â I would have been more excited if there were oyster shooters, but alas...I have yet to gain trust in the Midwest when it comes to seafood. Â It was probably for the best.
The food was fantastic and I got free dessert, plus the option to either hit a gong or use the mallet to hit my boyfriend in the head. Â Tough choice. Â I ended up going with the gong because I don't have one of those at home. Â I will definitely be coming back here!
This is one of the nicer restaurants in Muncie and I highly recommend it for a couple of really good reasons:
1) the food is DELICIOUS! I am always satisfied with the food- it is fresh, well seasoned and cooked to perfection. My favorite dish is the Hibachi Steak with fried rice which comes to about $20. The DoMo sauce that comes in a side saucer is so flavorful, I always dip my steak in the sauce.
2) It is soo entertaining to watch the chefs perform as they cook the meal right in front of you. They do all kinds of cool tricks and really know how to put on a show. It is great to get a group together and go out to dinner at DoMo because it is a real experience you won't forget.
3) The price isn't bad at all! $20 is pretty inexpensive for a meal where you are getting steak and entertainment and I have to mention you will leave feeling very full and carrying a to go box.
**In comparison to Benihana's it isn't quite as good- Benihana's is a little bit better in terms of the fact that they can accommodate larger groups, the atmosphere is more fancy and the food is a little bit better. I would give Benihana's five stars but don't let that keep you from giving DoMo a try!
Came strictly for sushi. Â Sushi was as good as O-Fusion, but Domo's was better priced, hence they get an extra star. Â We came for a late lunch, right before 3pm, other than one other table the place was empty. Â It has a generic interior with numerous hibachi grills along the perimeter of the restaurant. Â We were served quickly, waitress was friendly. Â If ever in this area again, would choose Domo over O-Fusion.
