I used to work in Muncie and everyone raved about this place. Â A buddy and I gave it a shot and thought it was so-so. Â My wife and I tried it a few weeks later and we agreed...if u like dry, overcooked and tasteless Chinese this place is for you. Â I've been to a lot better places than this, yes the value for what you pay is good but bland, fatty, greasy food isn't worth it.
They do have alot to choose from and the staff is excellent. Â
Too bad the food isnt up to par.
I've tried this place a few times hoping it gets better but it hasn't and I don't believe it will.
Ah... Muncie: The Land of the Buffet.
King's does the mega-buffet right. Â A crazy number of square metal food tubs under glass to sample from, plus a cook-to-order grill & Mongolian hot rock BBQ are included. Â The food was a little better than I expected and the price was right... about $10 will get you a metric ton of food and a diet soda. Â The only thing that totally sucked (and understandably so, can't hold it against them) was the sushi.
If the car is full of people who can't decide what they want to eat, go here. Â Lo mein and pizza, tater tots over Kung Pao Chicken, steak & pot stickers with pickled ginger, ice cream topped with wasabi paste...
Everything under the sun is on the buffet line and anything goes.
When I was in college visiting Muncie some years ago, it seemed like all you could eat here was fast food or buffets. Â And neither option at the time was particularly exciting. Â The running joke between my sister and I was that the fine folks here preferred grazing to dining.
Now there are a great number of quality, interesting places to eat. Â Perhaps I was blind and dumb back then or Muncie has grown up. Â Not sure, nor does it matter- this IS a good town to eat in, and that includes enjoying "Indecisive Night" at King's.
Happy Trails !
