This is my favorite restaurant on the entire planet. Yes, I did cause a waitress to spill an entire tray of drinks on me on their patio when I was the ripe, young age of five, but I still love this place.
If I knew I only had one hour left to live, my final activity here on earth would be eating Don Pablo's chips and salsa. Of all the salsas I have ever eaten, Don Pablo's is simply the best. I can no longer eat canned salsa thanks to the heavenly creation that is fresh-made Don Pablo's salsa. Also, their pico de gallo is always the best.
Drink-wise, if you do non-alcoholic stuff like me, you're a tea drinker, and you don't like your tea to be overly-sweet, get the unsweet tea. I love their sweet tea, but a lot of people don't like the sugar rush.
If you're going to this location, it is a must that you ask for either Susanna or Robin. Their service is the living, breathing definition of what service should be like anywhere you go. I think everyone should live up to their example!
Don Pablo's has slipped in recent years but still remains the contemporary verson of Chi Chi's in terms of chainey, fast-food Mexican but steps above Taco Bell (to say the least).
DP's food quality is pretty consistent and you're never going to struggle ordering from the predictable menu. Â This particular location could use a face lift and possibly a steam cleaning (the mesquite will stay with you and you may have to burn your clothes after you leave for that very reason). Â The wait staff is pretty reliable but again --- hard for anyone to screw this up unless they disappear somewhere between your table and the kitchen (which HAS happened to me here).
If you have a hankering for Mexican and you are on a budget but don't want any surprise this is the place for you in Indy.
