This pub is exactly what Barnegat needed. Â The owners and staff are very friendly and attentive. Â The Doyle's Cosmo is the best, and you can't go wrong with $1 Coors all day everyday. Â I have been there several times, and the food is very good. Â They have a nice variety, with daily specials, and you can't beat the prices. Â Highly recommend if you looking for a great casual hangout.
Review Source:Went to Doyle's on 9-28 for an early dinner. Â We sat ourselves per the sign and were greeted by a very nice server. Â I ordered the Cuban melt, GF got the Chicken Pesto sandwich and the kid got chicken tenders. Â Service was right on, drinks were good, I had a pumpkin beer and GF had a cosmo. The managers/owners were involved with all the patrons, and it had the feel of a good old-fashioned neighborhood bar. Â Something I miss. Â I know it's a pub, but they should have a $3 kids menu, I guarantee the servers are sick and tired of telling folks with kids to order a bar-pie or some chicken tenders, etc.
Overall, a nice experience.
How hard can it be to make bar food taste good? Had several apps here, they all tasted off. Not a great place for a glass of wine... Terrible selection and dirty glasses. Â My wine tasted warm and watered down. Disappointing. Place looks nice outside but feels like a frat house inside.
Review Source:For those of you who live in and around Barnegat already know the secret is out. Â The former Hearthside has given way to a new local gathering place known as Doyle's Pour House. Â Spacious and loads of parking this is a great spot with most of your standards in pub food and libations.....oh sorry, drinks. Met a few friends here on Saturday night and had a blast. Service was top notch and for a Saturday night everyone was "well behaved". Age groups run the gamete from newbie drinkers to bar stool statues. Â Very nice. Will frequent more often.
Review Source:So as promised i went back to give this place another try. It was a lazy sunday afternoon, went over to doyles to watch the phillies game and have a few beers. Sunday they have a 2$ bud light pint special going so we went with that, a solid offering. The bartenders were very attentive and friendly and I liked the vibe on a sunday with the place not so packed like my previous visits. Really its a great place to hang for a few beers and watch sports at the bar.
The thing that kind of annoyed me though was the owner (who you can see his response to my first review below) comes over after we're there for an hour and says something like "nothing to complain about today?". I kind of shrug it off with friendly conversation, "no, hows it goin?" etc. But after he walks away i think about it and im like, really thats what this guy comes over and says? My fiance was pissed and if he came back over was going to say something but he stayed on the other side of the bar the whole time after that. I wasnt going to be like "hey im that guy that complained and you said you would give a free appetizer to" but he didnt even offer and clearly recognized us and made a point to come over and say that to us. Really we were both enjoying ourselves until this and we left shortly after. If you want to be like that and not even introduce yourself and do what is right, then thats how it will be and i will not come back here. A grouchy manager is upset about his yelp review, well guess what every word of it was true and i really gave this place another try and you literally just ruined it.
A lot busier than the Tuckerton counterpart. Â Also about twice the size. Â The food is the same, very good. Â Probably the best burgers in the area. Â They also have Miller High Life, which is a very underrated beer. Â The $1 Coors Lights are a great bargain. Â Finally a place to go when I visit my parents.
Review Source:Currently, my favorite bar. To start, the fact that they offer $1 dollar Coors Light's every day, all day is fantastic. Couple that up with their half priced apps during happy hour and you've got a perfect combination. But even if it's not happy hour their standard menu is very reasonably priced. Personally, I recommend any sandwhich served on their pretzel bread with a side of their Old Bay seasoned fries.
You're really doing yourself a disservice if you don't stop in and checking out all the ammenities (tons of TV's, online jukebox, mega touch games, darts, pool tables, friendly staff, great beers on tap, happy hour drink specials, etc.) for yourself. This is the hometown bar Barnegat has been thirsty for for decades.
Visited Doyle's on opening day and had the best burger. Â Love the Captain Morgan back on the grill wings. Â The $1 coors lights are a great deal-- best drink special around - especially since it is available everyday all day. Â We were greeted by one of the owners , Brian, who was very gracious. Â Can't wait to go back!!
