Dark and mostly empty on a Saturday night, which was okay with me since we just wanted a quiet nightcap before we turned in (early morning flights suck!). Â It was about 11pm.
We had literally just sat down and the waitress asked what we wanted to drink. Â We said, 'we just got here, we'd like to look at the drink menu for a minute'. Â She got defensive and said, 'well some people already know what they want, so that's why I ask'. Â Â Not a great start. Â
My son got a Corona, my wife got one of their special martinis and I ordered a margarita. Â My wife said her drink was okay. Â Mine was served in a highball glass that wasn't even filled to the top. Â There was no alcohol detectable and the lime mix was so watered it had no taste.
$27 bucks for that. Â No atmosphere, stuck up server and watery drinks.
Nice looking place. Â Went there on a thursday during spring break and it was completely dead but for some people that's kinda nice. Â The next day we went again cause it was so nice inside and there was a crowd, a small cover, and a live band that really was not too bad. Â The drinks are pricey and although they we were able to play pool both nights, they could use another. Â Did I mention the place was very nice.
Review Source:If this place were in Chicago or any other big city it would soar, unfortunately OKC doesn't get it. I absolutely love this bar! Very nice decor, friendly bartenders and owner. Drinks are a bit pricier, but it keeps the rift raft out. They have bands or a single guy playing a guitar, music ranging from Coldplay to Journey. Cover may be $5 on weekends, but usually can make a deal with the doorman with larger groups. Great place for all ages, dates, groups. Nice bar seating, couches, or a personal booth. Â An upscale, classy place.
Review Source:Seriously-Screw this place. Screw their $6 Red Stripes and screw the jerks at the bar. I was there with a bachelorette party-which can throw down some serious $$$$ and we were treated like trash. Two bartenders at the end of the bar sat and talked crap about us loud enough for us to hear. Called us names, made disparaging comments about body types, booed at us and when confronted, acted like they did nothing.
It's sad, pathetic place that doesn't get much business-we were only there because it was in walking distance of the hotel we were staying at.
You'd think they'd take advantage of a huge party celebrating but they were just jerks. I hope this place dries up and goes under.
I had a great time here!
I'm in town for the week, live in San Francisco.
My girlfriend and I met here on a Wednesday night.. I arrived around 9pm.. not a lot of peeps in here at that time, but the bartender/owner made all the difference! Â He was super friendly! He and I talked until my friend arrived. As the night went on it got more and more crowded. Â There was an OKC Thunder game that night, and after the game ended several people came in a for a nice cold brewsky! We ended up staying here till close and what a great Wednedday night @ Drinkz it turned out to be.
I will come back here when in town. Â I like the bar set up , and the ambience/ layout is cool.
The only reason I am giving this bar a 4 star intstead of a 5 is because they didn't have Absinthe and I was really looking forward to having an Absinthe/Ginger Ale..
Well, John knows now... maybe next time I come in , he'll have it.
:)
Cheers!
This place is gross. Â It's like a poor man's Skky bar.
Overly expensive-looking interior (you know, a couple pieces of leather furniture, it's "dark" inside), over-priced drinks, and sketchy crowd. Â Seriously this place has more older, creepy, men in collared shirts per capita than anywhere in Bricktown. Â Actually, come to think of it, the owner fits this profile perfectly.
Oh, and the name is quite silly. Â Too bad they don't play any Limp Bizzzzzzzzzkit in there!
Friendly service. Fun environment. Good drinkz. I like this place. It's more of a lounge than a club, and they play decent music ranging from 90s rock to hiphop, and sometimes there's a live band. They also have some good drink specials, which make up for an arbitrary cover charge. The atmosphere is fun and the crowd always seem drunk and friendly, but that's what you get from a place called Drinkz.
Review Source:My friend took me to Drinkz because a bunch of her friends were meeting up there on Saturday night. She was hoping there would be a DJ spinning instead of a band playing. According to her, the DJ was always way better. I guess it wasn't our night because when we arrived at the front door we had to pay cover to see the local band that was performing.
The music was okay. Here's a sample of what I heard: "And after all, you're my wonderwall.....It's seven o'clock on the dot I'm in my drop top cruisin the streets.....yeah..." From Oasis to Usher??? Only in Oklahoma. I decided it was time to drink.
At about $7 per drink, the prices were comparable to every other place I've been to. The highlight of my night was taking a pineapple upside down cake shot. It was my first one ever and boy was it delicious!
So here's what I learned that night:
2 crown royal and diet cokes + sex on the beach + washington apple shot + pineapple upside down cake shot + chocolate cake shot + red headed slut + jack and diet coke= a fun time at Drinkz no matter what kind of music is playing.
If I'm ever in the area again, I'd come back to this place. I like the fact that there's a TON of places to sit for those who prefer to chill and a dance area for those who prefer to groove.
