This bar is good enough that I bought a shirt for half-priced Mondays. It's my "local" bar within walking distance, and I'm happy to have it. They have a nice beer selection and the staff is very friendly, remembered my name on my second visit friendly, so I made it a point to get to know everyone's name at the bar by my third visit. The crowd is an interesting mix of mostly locals, and they have a variety of special events and drink specials through the week to keep things interesting. The "bar food" is not much outside what is to be expected by bar food, though if you get there early they have quite the sandwich selection. I've seen reviews that their wings are good, but I would disagree. If you want wings, go to Hurricane's Grill, Hooters, or Big Joes. I'm a fan of the Duck, but wings are some serious business and I've been consistently disappointed by the wings here.

    The Duck
.................... People watching, to the max!
The Duck gives way to a much older crowd with an upbeat vibe. Reminded me of Dicey's in down town Ft. Lauderdale, but much, much smaller. The drinks are pretty cheap and there was a live band playing.
You're likely to find retired frat boys in their late 30s to early 40s who are still trying to live out their college years. You might also run into your parents or your parents friends here getting shwasted and you may or may not run into your dads single friends hitting on single moms (at least I hope they were single). I also noticed that the ratio of men to women was waaaay off!

The Duck is iight-- not my first pick of places to hang out, but, to each his own.

Went here for lunch with my finance on her 1 hour lunch break. There was no wait and only 1 other couple in there. Without bashing them I'll just be simple about the experience:

The service was really slow (took 60+ min to have lunch as their only customers), the food was decent "bar food". I had a Gyro which had kinda dry/crusty meat, and instead of traditional gyro cucumber sauce that the server told me it would have, it was obviously just sour cream with a little bit of cucumbers cut up in it.  The wifey had a salad which was good.

The atmosphere was ok. All the doors were open air and the other couple was smoking. So not a great place if you don't like eating second hand smoke for lunch.

The big surprise was (the 10 min long process) when we were paying the bill; They didn't know about the Yelp check in special for 20% off the meal.  The manager (or owner) didn't even know it was on there saying "I thought that expired".  I'll stress that they DID honor it and I was grateful.

I'd consider going back there only if I'm in that area for some drinks and catching a game, but not as a meal and certainly not on a business lunch break.

Great place. Burgers are excellent. Sweet potato fries are great.  Beer selection is extensive for the size if the bar.  Staff was awesome only had to say the order once despite the noise.   Would definitely go again.

Love this place! Yeah, the food is your averaga Pub Grub, but the staff is awesome...especially Loretta! They also have great bands like "The Duck Band"...who know every song ever written! And now a new rockin' band called The Adequates! The drink prices are great, the crowd is a good local mix and it is really a friendly vibe. I am becoming a regular!

This is a great neighborhood bar that when people ask me how to describe the Duck I tell them it is just like cheers. The Duck has a Great crowd of people of all ages, great specials and amazing bar food. On Thursday-Saturday they have live music and like others have stated they have a huge beer selection.  I have never had a bad experience at the Duck and continue to keep going back. They have dart boards and on Wednesday and Saturday they host All-In Free Poker.  Hope to see you all there!

Great place with a laid back vibe and tons of beer from around the world!

Complete the 100 beers around the world and get your name on a brick in the wall. I think thats pretty cool and their beers aren't heavily priced. Go around happy hour and sure enough you'll get drunk -- watch out for Boca cops tho, they sometimes wait just outside.

This bar seems to be quite eventful as well. I've run into bachelorette parties, bday parties, poker games, and a plethora of other interesting stuff here.

Nice place where you can see common people in a common bar. One of good things for my wife, is that it might be the only place around that is smoke friendly.

    Nice beer selections.

I'm giving the Duck 3 stars because the bar selection in South Florida is absolute shit. Especially in Boca. It's hilarious that other reviewers have called this place a "hole in the wall". There is nothing divey about this place. It's a totally average bar. It's clean and well-lit. Average: that's how you describe the Duck.

Since the Duck is not near my 'hood it was off my radar screen. Boy I am glad that some friends took us there on a Friday night to hear Scott and his band. Keep yelling out your favorite song and the band could play it and play it well. Everything from Southern rock to Pearl Jam. No pressure to buy drinks and a friendly crowd that starts out older('40s and '50s) but gets younger('20s) as it gets later. Just a fun place to have a good time and escape the Boca scene. I deducted a star because of the cigarette smoke. Will return

The perfect hole-in-the-wall drinking spot for someone who doesn't give a damn about seeing or being seen. There is zero pretension, just a great beer selection and drop-dead cheap happy hour specials.

If the chichi bars in Mizner Park, with their prowling cougars and lecherous old men and $14 mixed drinks are not your scene, the Duck might be the ticket. It's smokey and humble, with a down-to-earth clientele and bar staff.

The prototypical "local's bar" this is not the place for someone looking to get dressed up, go dance to repetitive techno music, and go home with some random drunk "hottie".  BUT if you want a low key place with the same faces every night, great food, amazing beer selection, and good music then the The Duck is the place.  Most nights are good nights with free poker three nights a week, and live music on Friday and Saturday.  For the adventerous, try the beers around the world club or for the hard alcohol fans, Sick Bastard Club is always a crowd favorite.
