I'm a bit late in reviewing this club, but hey, better late than never!LOL!! Ok, so me and my girls went to Echelon back in October(2012) to celebrate my friend's B-day. We had a blast! The music was good, and the atmosphere was great as well. The only thing the none of us liked was that the D.J. cut the songs short just as we were getting in the "groove" of the song! We all are excited to go back, and should be planning a trip very soon! The only drawback that we had(and it had nothing to do w/ the club) was that we had to pay $20 after a certain time b/c WE got there late!!:(  So if you don't want to pay $20, get there before the cut-off "free" time, which I believe is before 12am on Saturdays.

Nice place on Fridays 6-9pm they have a pretty good after work buffet that includes all u can eat crab legs for $7.50, $5.00 if u work in Dekalb.  Good R&B music, laid back & casual during this time. After 10pm it turns in to the typical club scene...

The night had it's ups and downs. Found out one of the servers lied to us about our order. Tried to blame it on the kitchen taking forever yet we see other tables getting their orders before us and this girl just can't be found.

The other server told us that the first server actually never put the order in and she had just put the order in because we were complaining about the wait.  Then when we got the chicken, there was blood inside because now they want to rush to do something. So gross.

I only give it 2 stars instead of one because the second server took care of us but the manager didn't have the time to come and say anything to us.

Out here in Atlanta,, and my cuz recommended this spot. Great club, it has this storefront look, so you really don't know what to expect on the inside.  Two bars inside, and the wait was never long, even though it was almost midnight. Large dance floor, nice crowd. The only thing I didn't like, dj was only playing part of a song, even though the music was good. Saying that I'm returning the next time in the ATL!!

I went there for Happy Hour on Friday.  Didn't stay for the night so I can't speak on that.  However the DJ was starting to get the crowd going when I left.  So what happened there lets see...  This big chick slipped and fell with a plate full of crab legs and had to be wheeled out by the EMTs.  The buffet was alright nothing special.  The drinks were on point.  The bartender made a killer Long Island.  The decor was nice although I've seen better.  I would check it out again at night to see what the nightlife is like in there.

JUST ASK FOR VINNY... Myself & 3 other ladies planned to go to this club Friday night.  Only 2 of us couldn't make it before the free cut off time at 8pm, so I called the place to make sure of the time.  Well I spoke with a person who called themselves "VINNY".  He advised me to come on and he would put my name on the list, just ask for him.  When we arrived, I asked for Vinny, but the response was "WHO IS VINNY"?  Okay long story short... NO VINNY AND NO NAME ON LIST!  To me it was a scam, what woman would get dressed and travel from Conyers, just to not go inside and party?  So I asked how much to get inside?  He replied $30.  I figured I was obligated to pay my GF way, since I invited her, but $60 was noway going to happen. Well, yes indeed I curesed his ass out and went to a place called Central Park off Memorial Drive.  Had a great time!  Thank you to the private investigator that referred us to go there.  Echelon has bumped their heads to try something like this...

    T.K

Cool spot love it better for the food and the drinks most of the time then the partying. Could be a good night or a night of just fuckery.

Last nite I went to echelon to attend private birthday party. I am 66 years old, mind you ! I had already checked with the lady over the phone as to what to wear. So I assumed my non-timberland tie-up boots, jeans, leather sport jacket and leather baseball-style cap would be ok.....,....wrong !! The ID-check fella told me I needed to take my cap back to my car and leave it. I told him I could take care of my own hat if it was not allowed inside. He said no......and that the club could keep it for me while I was at my party. Needless to say, I left totally disappointed with this joint. Seems to me a dress code should be applied to the many poorly-dressed women going into this joint. But I guess if a man has to have his head exposed in this joint, it is definitely ok for women to have their butts exposed as well. That did not seem to be a problem; nobody was being sent to their car to put on a dress that at least covered their butts. wut a waste of time and car gasoline............................................

Very localized.  Club is very open and reminds of a strip club.  If you are use to seeing dudes with zoot suits than this is the place for you. Very old and ghetto, not classy at all. Walked in had a drink and walked back out.

I have gone to Echelon 3 times and each time I had a ball. The buffet is great. I can not believe they offer that for free. The drinks are a little pricey though. You have to get there early to try and get a seat or you will be up all night. The dj is good. Although the rift raff is beginning to come in so that can be a turn off. It amazes me that people come in there with clothes they would wear to the park.

I like the fact that Echelon  has a different night for all ages.

Thursday: This night is for the 25 & under crowd. The DJ plays alot of hip hop and rap. Even though this is my age group I'm not really into this night because of the music and the crowd. This night is free before 11pm.

    Friday: Idk about firdays.

Saturday: Now this is the night for 30+ . Old school as well as new school is played on this night ( but not the hip hop/rap they play on thursday) I love going on this night because the ambiance is great and love the older crowd. You have to pay on this night, $20. However, if you are a good looking female the price would be reduced, Sorry fellas.

Sunday: Sunday nights were pretty much for all ages. kind of met in the middle. Unfortunately, this club isn't open on Sundays anymore.

Overall, I love Echelon 3000. The venue is very nice and upscale, The food is great! Idk about the service, some of the bartenders can be rude. The VIP area is so nice, It's looks over the entire club and is a little private oasis near the DJ booth with it's own bar. That's where I spend most of my time.

    I would recommend this club.

I went here on a Friday evening for their happy hour buffet and then a concert featuring Ken Ford. I was astonished at the buffet. Shrimp, fish, chicken, various salads, mac and chz, collard greens, pastas, and bread. OMG! How the hell am I supposed to dance and look alluring and sexy if I'm all full and bloated and in desperate need of a bathroom??? Thank goodness I exerted some self control, which was difficult because the food was bangin baby. Bangin. Drinks are what you would expect at any other club: just be available to handle that thirst. This club is pretty like I like. It's big, spacious, and glamorous. Love it. I had a wonderful time. I got there during the happy hour, got in free, ate for free and enjoyed the concert for free. Free is one of my favorite words, so, let me type it again: free. The eye candy was on point too. Therefore, I liked the clientele. So, yeah, I enjoyed my time here.

Nice cool vibe spot.  They play the music I love, r and b, some hip hop and old school.  The food is really good.  I loved the lemon pepper wings!  Bartenders were very attentive. A variety of ages attend this place..

Although I HATE clubs, one of my buddies from college had a B-Day party here and got us in the VIP area with Unlimited Grey Goose...So I figured..."What the hell! It's free and I get to reunite with my old buddies!" So, long story short...the ambiance is nice...drinks are high,  It is spacious and the crowd is mature! Thank god they ACTUALLY stress the dress code cuz it's in a shady area in a sense....But, all in all...I had a good time! Will I be back....? Probaly NOT! But, I won't diss this place! Plus, some of the outfits that were worn in there were HILARIOUS!!!! Plus Ne Ne Leakes from Housewives of Atlanta was there, so it was thick in there! I hate large crowds in contained places! But...check this place out if your the "Club" type!

If you like a hood crowd with applebee's type food. This is the place for you! I felt like I was in a low budget rap video, I was wondering where the grown and sexy crowd was...I presumed at home with their husbands or wives because this diffinitely was not the scene. V.I.P. at velvet room is 100x better than this place. Keyword: v.I.p. booth, u don't have one even velvet room can be a waste of time. Totally disappointed, I live in buckhead and If I wanted hood I cldve went to luckys lounge or any one of those hole in the wall clubs in the underground...lol this is a great spot for men to pick up easy women or their next baby momma! Seriously tho, don't even waste your time going. You will have a better time watching netflix with someone out of the little black book than wasting time, money, and make up going there! The one good thing about Echelon is the food!  It is amazing.  I've had many items from the menu, as well as the Happy Hour buffet.

I don't have the energy to go into the casserole of bad things that's wrong with Echelon, but here's a snippet.  Last night was my 2nd (and last) time going.  I went back in March to see Mint Condition and last night to see Joe.

Both times, the right hand didn't know what the left hand was doing.  Literally, on one end of the line, there was one rule (usually explained to us in a rude, surly, condescending way)...and on the other end, something totally different.  Every worker we encountered were snappy, impatient and apparently mad at God.

"You can't sit there, you have to stand up, you need a wristband to stand here, you have to pay $40 for a table, but you can have this table for free until we "rotate" them at 9pm, free drinks have to be ordered over there etc."  No kidding, it is THAT ridiculous and unorganized.

The bartender at the designated "free" bar, saw our yellow tickets and just pointed and said "it's the cheap stuff right here - you get one of these plus one chaser, that's it!"  Well, maybe if I had gone to bartending school or drank enough, I'd know liquor just by looking at a bottle that he had turned around SO HE COULD SEE the labels, then that fine customer service he gave me would have empowered me to place my order.  Since not, I just stood there waiting for his charm to really kick in...it never did.

Having certain sections and rules is completely fine - its how we were treated and spoken to.  Paying for a table is no problem, but there's a way of explaining that to a customer.  Walking up to our table and saying "you gotta pay $80 to sit here" rather than "excuse me, ma'am, this section is reserved, may I see your reservation please?" should NOT be happening!

Sure, dealing with the public is more than a notion!  Some people try to get over and are ghetto-fab.  However, not everybody is.  We were polite, professional, patient, early arrivals and still were treated like Sheniqua 'nem.

From the men outside checking ID all the way to the ladies at the Hostess podium, we were treated like they wanted us to leave.
If you expect good customer service, run far away from Echelon.  You will be yelled at, bullied by the security and made to "rotate" your table at 9m even though you're ordering food.

Regardless of who's playing, I will never be back.  I'd rather pay and have good time, than get in free and be given the run around by a rude staff any day.  I should have followed my 1st mind and went to see Will Downing at Atlanta Symphony, but noooooo, I missed Joe the last time and thought 'maybe Echelon has gotten their act together by now.'  NOT!!!!!!

Save your nerves - go somewhere else!

After going to the Melting Pot and a bar my bf and I hit this place up on a whim.  It was "Old School Sat" and free before 10pm. We arrived at 9:30 and were ACTUALLY let in for free. There was no security seen then either. This was painfully early for me but I sucked it up.  Place was empty as expected at that hour, so we paid 20$ for VIP and were led by the door lady thru the huge club and towards the back and upstairs.  VIP was about a semi circle of booths and roped off lounge chairs around a bar.  Bartender was rude, slamming down menus and taking forever to take our drink order as though the place was packed.  I don't appreciate her only talking to my man and calling him baby either.  Newayz, I did order a Corona and him $8.50 Vodka/cranberries made with Kettle One.  He says they were toxic strong.  I guess that's a good thing.  We smoked my usual blacks and chilled up there until 11:00 or so.  DJ was on point playing the best throwbacks mixed with some new school.  I looked over the glass ledge and saw hundreds of ppl below.  DANG, the place started to pop and the cougars and sugar daddys were on the loose.  We headed down the creepy stairs and onto the lit disco dancefloor.  We had a ball and were able to go to and from VIP as much as we wanted.  Only wish my feet could've been saved better w/out the stairs.  My main complaints were the small cramped bathrooms and that one bartender.  Overall, had lots of fun!

Went to Echelon 3000 for the Tony Toni Tone concert, it was a blast!!! We were celebrating a friends birthday and paid for VIP. Luv it... the VIP section is away from the rest of the club, food is okay for the price, drinks are good. Being in the VIP section there are just so many people and you can only get in and out with a wrist band. And, of course Tony Toni Tone was great.

This venue is great for a intimate concert of the oldies but goodies that you want to see!

Omg I went here last night for NYE. Complete waste of time & money. Never again will I drive out of my way and waste my precious gas for this place. To begin with, they were advertising on the radio that for $20 you can get in 3 clubs all night, Echelon 3000, Taboo2 & Pearl Bistro. But come to find out, so many people bought these tickets, so they were saying that once the club gets filled to capacity you won't be able to get in, it would be first come first serve, and they weren't giving refunds. The worker who told my friend this also said that you just need to choose 1 club and stay in it because you probably won't be able to get into the others. What kind of BS? If I would have known this I wouldn't have purchased a ticket.

So my friends and I decided to go to Echelon. They didn't even look at one of my friend's tickets so she was mad she even paid. Inside it was so crowded and hot and filled with nothing but people my parent's age, and even older. And the music...UGH! I like old school but I don't wanna hear that the ENTIRE night. Every now and then they would play something up to date but that was really rare. When I went on their website earlier during the day, it said Friday night was Hip Hop & R&B, they should have put old school Hip Hop & R&B. Also, they shouldn't have advertised these 3 clubs on the radio stations I listen to because those 2 radio stations generate a younger crowd. They should have aired the ad on only the radio stations that the older crowd listens to, but I guess it's all about the $$$.

Now the club itself is nice but I won't be returning. A few people told me I would really liked it and bragged about it so much, I guess I should have went on Sunday night, maybe that's the night my age group goes there. I don't know and I won't ever find out. The best thing that happened was this really sweet guy gave me a rose before I left. That made me :-).

I only stayed in here for 1 1/2 hours. If you like old school and an older crowd AND it's not too far of a drive for you, then you'll like this place. But it's DEF not for me. I feel like after a while, your clubbing days are over and you need to be at home with your family. Smh!

The thrill is gone for this place.  I thought it was the best thing to open up on the East side, that is....until the last time I went.  There are so many restrictions.  They make a big deal about bringing cameras in their club, and they will make you GET OUT OF LINE and go back to your car to leave your camera. This is so their dumb ass photographers they have walking around can make money off taking your pictures and charging you $10 dollars per picture...ridiculous.

As a result we had to wait until we got back into the parking lot to take pictures for my friends birthday. I mean -who has the money to pay ten dollars per picture?  And who would want to anyways?

As my friend was going back to her car to put our cameras in the car I stood off to the side.  Well apparently standing off to the side it not permitted.  You have to go in the club. WHAT????  Nevermind the fact that you have a ton of people standing in line FOR NO DAMN REASON, but I can't stand on the side and wait for my friend to come back???  I yelled at the doorman saying "THIS IS A FREE COUNTRY! I SHOULD BE ABLE TO STAND OFF TO THE SIDE WITHOUT GETTING HARRASSED!"

So when we finally get in, we find out that they are now charging $5 for a cover.  This pissed me off even more.  Now dont get me wrong, $5 is not a big deal to pay for a cover, but what I have a problem with is the club advertising that it is still free before 8pm to get in.  So, I asked why is there now a cover, they ignored the question and just told me that it includes a buffett and two drink tickets. DUH! I know that because it was actually free before.   You see....it's the principal of the whole thing.  Don't lie and say things are free when they aren't. They still advertise on their website that Friday nights are free before 8pm.  I dont understand this.

Then when we get in, we find out that we can't just sit where we want (like we could before), we have assigned seating???  WTF?

The food was still good though. But the bartenders on the side of the club that I was on seemed to have attitudes that night.

This club seems to have a ton of celebrities rolling through, but eh...I'll pass.  I dont like to be treated like shit....

My experience is on Saturday nights!  107.5's  Si-Man is there so the energy is nice!  It's free before 10pm and don't get in line at 9:50p thinking you'll make it, they will the line until 9:58p and then let you in and then it's $20. (right)  On a good note, valet for unescorted ladies is free (they work for tips).  The drinks are nice, the music is good.  If you happen to live in the Stone Mountain area and you need something to do on a Saturday, check it out!

They used to do Football Sundays but not anymore!  :-(

I am so torn between 3 and 4 stars.

So my first night in ATL. I forget my ID. What?! Forgetful Tash. So long story short, we found a way to get in anyway :-) The set up is nice. The music was great. Everyone looked good too. But hardly anyone was dancing. I didn't get it. I was grooving. I guess everyone knew I was from out of town. I didn't care. I order some chicken fingers and fries and they were delish. Saw Mary J Blige there too.

I'd go back. maybe it was the wrong night. It was a Monday night after all. Wait did I forget to mention that? lol

I went on a Friday night. It was awesome. A full service kitchen for those who choose not to participate in the free happy hour buffet.
Your best bet is to get there immediately after work.

From the door, security was professional.  They have free valet (tips only) for the ladies. I self parked and walked to the door. It is in a plaza in the old LEE HANEY Gym. I may be optimistic but I loved the awesome bartenders who I have seen over the years in my favority spots.

    Lighted dancefloor...for real.
I counted 4 full service bars.
    Wait staff friendly and prompt.
Great DJ playing classics including house music, reggae and hip hop
    Buffet AWESOME

To top it off the ladies get 2 free drinks on fridays. So I got there around 6 and left around 8 and it was packed.  I had a ball and look forward to going again!  This is an upscale cosmopolitan attire spot, very refreshing! THis is the Pearl of DeKalb!

I tend to party early and leave.  So I came, I ate, I drank and I left.

    11/2010
I have to say that this place reminds me of a family member that cant afford the china.  This place is anal and not a kewl spot.

I actually had a lot of fun at this club!! I went here about 2 weeks ago for a friends birthday party. We had the VIP area reserved to the left of right of the stage (white couch area). The food was good, our server was attentive & nice. Our drinks were great. Even the owner came over a few times to ask us if we needed anything. It was a Saturday night so 107.5 was there playing old school r&b/hip-hop.

I am only giving them 4 stars though because even though all tne guests in our VIP section were on the guestlist, if anyone arrived after 10pm they were charged $20. Also, if you plan to go I would suggest you pay the extra $ to get in VIP because 95% of the seats in this place is VIP. It get pretty crowded after 12am so regular seating is extremely limited.

Why do I always fall for Atlanta's "grown and sexy---dress to impress" TRAP!?!

If you pour syrup on poop does it taste good? Nooo! (speculating)

Then why do I always think that a dress code will upgrade the caliber of men? Uh....epic fail!

So Sunday Night at Echelon was -Lucky for me- because I got to see Ludacris (not MEET...See!)  That definitely made my night.  And after about 2...maybe... 6 drinks - the crowd was CLASSY enough for me to mingle.

    BTW...(some specifics)
    $10 to cut the line
$12 for a shot of patron
    $30 for VIP
...Dancing on the Disco lit stage with a 50 year old pimp....yea...PRICELESS

I wanted to go see what all the hype was about! I went into this establishment, but was dissapointed do to the way you are seated. They tell you one thing, while holding out on seats for certain people. I came with class along with other classy females. We were seated around the stage in disabled seats, but was told if a disabled person arrives we would have to move. It was plenty seats, but they said in order to sit on the plush white booths, we would have to spend $180 on a bottle. WE LATER WATCH OTHERS SEAT THEMSELVES WITHOUT BUYING A BOTTLE!  I give it  2 stars. VERY BEAUTIFUL INSIDE..... dont let me discourage anyone from going. TYPICAL R&B LOTS OF MEN, WOMEN JUST NOT ORGANIZED ENOUGH FOR ME TO GO BACK.  THURS LADIES FREE TIL 10 LADIES DRINK FREE TIL 12. DRINKS ARE GOOD AND FULL OF LIQUOR...nice and strong. I WOULD GO AGAIN IF SOMEONE HAD A PARTY AND I WAS INVITED.

Oooooo Lord just say no to birthday parties at Echelon.  SO HOOD.  Okay so the positive, the venue is really, really nice.  I mean they went all out it's beautiful.  The dj was good, no complaints there and I even left my number with a semi-cute Kappa.  So yea, if you are single and looking to meet someone, there is opportunity for that.  All the men aren't 105 which is a plus.  But oh goodness there is some extra hood there too.  I took photos, which I won't post for legal reasons, but skank-a-licious.  I just prefer a more professional, slightly more classy crowd.  I will pick Kat's Cafe over this type of spot every time because that's my personalty.  None the less we had a decent time.  I spent most of my night flirting with the Kappa.  The food is an absolute no.  So if you need to eat please do so before you get to Echelon.  The drinks were below average but gave me something to hold.  I will go back for another get-to-together, but wouldn't select this place on my own.

I went to Echelon with the wife and some out of town guests.  We are all fans of Raheem Devaughn, and they were hosting his album release party.  The old saying that "You don't judge a book by its cover" is truly evident here.  It is literally in the middle of a run down shopping center, next to a Dollar General.  After spending 10 minutes trying to find parking, we walked up to the front of the building (no line).  However, we did witness 2 people getting tazed by security.  Not really a glowing endorsement of things to come.  At least we knew that security didn't play around.  Since we already purchased Advance Seating tickets, we decided to continue on with the originals plans.  Once we got in, it was like night and day.  It was nice and upscale.  We were promptly escorted to our reserved table.  I highly recommend that you spend the extra money to get a table, or you will be standing up ALL NIGHT LONG.  It was nice to be able to sit, eat, and drink and watch the artist perform.  The music was great.  A nice mix of "New Jack" R&B and new hip hop.  This club probably losses alot of business due to the lack of "curb-appeal".  But for those people that are not afraid of outer-appearances, they are in for a treat.  I will be back.

I went to Echelon 3000  for a Robin Thicke performance in Jan '10 and just recently went March"10 for a birthday party.  I enjoyed the ambiance ...they have a menu now and its def decent for club status.  The only dig I have is they could play the Biggie and Jay-Z's before 2:40am.

Located inside of a shopping center at the intersection of redan rd. and south hairston, Club Echelon is a good spot if you are 30 +. It is pretty nice on the inside and the food is very good.

I went with a group of 20 somethings on a Friday night (2/19/10). We got in free and we paid $10 for a one time buffet (the food was delicious) Initially, we felt uncomfortable because there were mostly old heads, but as the night went on, we enjoyed ourselves. K-Jon performed and people actually danced...which seems a little uncommon these days...

I just didn't care for all the smoke and not enough seating, if you're gonna have a buffet, have a place for people to sit and eat...

It was hilarious watching the old men dance though!

I went to Echelon on a Saturday night for a friend of the family's birthday party.  107.5/97.5 hosted the night so the music was old school R&B which I always appreciate.  The venue is very bright with a bunch of neon lights and an elevated stage.  The crowd was like Grown Folks on Old National or Pearl Bistro near Greenbriar but it was classier.  No offense to anyone who loves them but I think Grown Folks and Pearl are a bit on the ghetto side. That feel is pleasantly absent from Echelon.

I'm knocking off a star because Stone Mountain is just way too far for me when I've been drinking and because our server was incredibly slow.  We were in a VIP section with about 30-35 people and they gave us one server and one food runner.  That makes no sense to me.  Once we actually got the food, it was good for bar/club food.  Nothing fantastic.  I can't rate the drinks because I had wine all night.  Parking is free and plentiful if you get there early enough.

Also, though no one was there on the night we went, they apparently have musical artists come through often.  From my knowledge, they've had Robin Thicke & Joe appear.  They are slated to have K'Jon, Cedric the Entertainer, and Jahiem in the next few weeks.  That's pretty impressive to me for them to be a new club.
