I'm not even a big sweets person, but after working at a vegetarian restaurant that served some of Southern Sweets' vegan cakes, I totally got hooked on their vegan coconut cake. I'm always tempted w/other choices when I'm there, but can't resist getting the same thing every time. So. Amazing.
Review Source:My husband said they make quite possibly the best bbq pulled pork sandwich he has ever had. We live a solid 25 minutes away, and he regularly suggests this place to eat. I've had their 'grown up grilled cheese' (tasty) and their black bean burger (equally tasty) sandwiches. While no means catering to vegetarians, they offer about half a dozen veg. entrees to suit the non-meat eaters in any crowd.
And while the lunch is good, who are we kidding? You get the the dessert. Even if you have to get it to go, you get the dessert. They have a huge display case of cakes and pies (by the slice or whole), and also several kinds of bars and cookies. We're chocolate fans, so typically go that route. My dad had the pie and loved it. We have yet to be disappointed. Cake slices are big enough to share, generally speaking, unless you go just for the dessert!
It's worth the trip, and if you're near DeKalb Farmers Market, definitely go!
