I never was a fan of nightclubs and especially in Reno until we went last weekend for my first time. We went on Saturday night which was a white party and had a great time! It wasn't too packed to where you couldn't move which I liked because it made it easier to move around on the dance floor. I loved the outside patio too. Great for the smokers since smoking is not allowed in the club, which I found out by a bouncer making me put mine out and kindly escorting me outside which was nice as bouncers tend to be jackasses. We spent most of our time at the bar by the dance floor and found ourselves getting drinks from Lauren every time. Very fast and personable bartender, very knowledgeable as she made us whiskey drinks we had never drank before, and not to mention very b-e-a-utiful ;^) . In fact, every employee I saw was easy to look at and quite nice and helpful, unlike other places around town.
I will definitely be coming back to the Edge and would highly recommend it whether you live in Reno or you are visiting!
Reno? NYE? Yes, i expected to have fun, but not a total blast!! From the perfect drinks  made by friendly attentive "mixologists" (you only earn that title being an awesome bartender!) to the great music and professional staff, All I can say is watch out vegas and miami!!!! Mr. Danny Utu...A million thanks for making NYE 2013 for my wife and I one for the history books! We shall return A.S.A.P!
Review Source:I came here with my husband and some friends over labor day weekend and surprised to find Edge Nightclub almost like the clubs in Vegas! This club is located inside Peppermill. We were just going to bar hop but so glad we didn't! I recalled there were at least two bars. The bigger one was always crowded so we went to the bar by the dance floor. The shots were huge...it's like double shots! There were
go-go dancers dancing above the dance floor. They also have a nice balcony that oversee the little city in Reno. Bartenders and securities were nice but the servers serving the VIP booths were not as friendly. I don't blame them though because the drunks were bumping into them while they're holding a tray of drinks...haha...overall we had a great time! Will definitely go back the next time I'm in Reno.
So far I been here two time and each time we had a blast. The first time was a great experience. We got the bottle service which comes with a booth, because it is worth it. I love the atmosphere, workers, and the hospitality. Speak to Darrell if you are looking to book a booth or even a VIP Room. I would of gave it a 5 star but the second time we went we were not greeted by a host to our booth. but lucky they apologize and darrell the head host or event manager apologize to us/me personally. Will be back soon. P.S. more of the middle age group like late 30's-early 40's
Review Source:We just held a social event for our 2012 National Convention at Edge! Â We had over 150 people in Reno for the convention and the Edge really made us feel very welcome! Â With our large crowd, that was not the case with other venues we were looking at. Â Edge offered us the Quite VIP Room (it can be loud, but you have control over the music), which has it's own balcony and they dedicated two excellent waitresses to our area. Â Thank you Grace! Â Most of us partied the night away, dancing and laughing, and only visited the VIP room for refreshments, because the club is excellent, and the music is the perfect combination of fun funky older music and new age dance music! Â The band and DJ that night was absolutely excellent! Â we got some very fun Salsa lessons, and later I even got to dance on-stage! Â I can't thank the Edge and Darrell enough for having our group, we had an excellent time!
Review Source:From my two nights in Reno, I am able to report that Edge suffers from multiple personality disorder like all but a handful of clubs worldwide that are pumping consistently every night.
My first venture on a Friday night was fun, but there were maybe 20 people there total so it was definitely all about making your own fun. I later learned that it was ladies night which explained why I had to keep positioning myself strategically between the girls and the lone creeper who was itching to grind on them.
We were also the unfortunate victims of beer theft, but J.L. sorted the situation out.
The second night was Cinco de Mayo and it was hands down the best place in Reno to party (I think this is your best bet in Reno every night...I ventured downtown and it was kinda scary). The place was packed they were playing good tunes all the tables were full and it was just a good time.
The outdoor patio overlooking the pools is a great place to take a time out and/or smoke. The staff are all friendly and it really is a good time.
So two nights, two totally different experiences but good times....as good as you're going to get in Reno.
I came here after a concert with my sisters and her group of friend. I was sick so I wasnt able to enjoy my night so much. had Ciroc and Cran--pretty strong if you ask me. I personally prefer Ciroc Berry or one of their flavors, but they didnt have it unfortunately. Server was very nice. They had gogo dancers.
The crowd I would describe them as older and more geared towards white folks(not to be racist) I just like a more diverse crowd with younger people rather than old creeps trying to buy a girl drinks.
Overall the ambience is nice--outdoor firepits and a VIP room, that is completely closed off.
Oh!! the turn off for me--there was literally a trashy white couple that was having sex and doing the dirty in a corner outside our VIP room, which is extremely disturbing--go have sex in your hotel or go in the bathroom or something please. I'd like to walk pass you two without needing to be afraid of STD's
Not sure what it's like on a normal night, but I enjoyed dancing here the night before  a bachata festival started. One thing I could do without (even more than the flashing colored lights) was the dance floor being covered with liquid nitrogen smoke. Music was good and so was the crowd (of locals and out of town visitors) - and this is the place most I asked recommended to dance while in Reno (except when there is a special event elsewhere).
Review Source:Vegas baby! Â I travel to vegas nightclubs all the time and my favorite are moon and ghostbar at the palms. Edge is there. But its service that makes the Vegas scene real. And Darrell Williams does just that. From the first contact to the door, all thru the night he and his incredibly directed staff performed a show like no other. Darrell....you the man. Hope vegas doesn't steal you away. If they do. I will follow.
Review Source:"Woohoo! As good as it gets!" ...it really is, considering the fact that you're in Reno!
Edge has been open for a while now, and it still has great word of mouth from both the locals and out of towners! ;D
The last last time I was here, my man's friend got the VIP room handed to him. I guess he gambled too much. Good thing for me as they had it flowing in there. Bottles were everywhere and chasers were always stocked and ranged from juices to Monster energy drinks!
The attire is semi formal. Guys always in non white shoes and dress shirts/jackets. Only rarely have I seen a guy get in in just a shirt and a vest! Also I have NEVER seen a guy get in there in jeans!!! And women, well we get in regardless. ;D Fancy flipflops or heels, dresses or jeans will work with us ladies.
Came here last Saturday with my girls. They made us go in two lines. The left lines were I guess people who were "on the list." They walked up the slanted floor before us. Well, we were on the right, and I swear I thought I was going to wait forever. Eh not really... :D The doorman called me, said something like "To me these girls are on the list," and we walked right past all the other people who were on the left line. SCORE! Got in for free and way before the people who were on the left lane...puhahahahaha
Walked in and the music was already crackin! A girl was getting body painted to the right. :D Of course we headed to the bar and started our shots! Kamikazes please. One down! Tab open ...the club was already filling up! That's always a good sign. The second bartender offered a fruity drink (of course with a cost) and it turned out to be purple haze.. Some drink that was grape based. YUMMM. It was a good night. I had to leave for a couple hours and headed down to Bubinga, which compared to Edge sucked! Waste of taxi money! I came back to Edge and oh man you know it was a good night! (I had a wristband slapped on before leaving...)
Walked to Edge's ropes again. Everyone was having a great time. The doormen were still very professional and there weren't anyone getting thrown out...Went up the elevator, and I swear the crowd grew 5 times more than when I left. Went back to the bar where I played marco polo with my girls. :( I had lost them and thought it was going to be a short night. I got my Midori sour, made conversation with some guys next to me and God answered my prayers and sent my girls walking towards me! Yay! We took a couple more shots. Then headed for the dance floor. UGH I missed Edge. THe music is great and they always know when to turn on the fog machine and  when to splash us with some water lol good times.
The DJ seemed to be having a blast too because he had music playing one after another in a good rhythm too! Sadly, my night had to end :( Walked out to the gorgeous patio. Got some fresh air and started my way to the garage. Walking down the elevator, the same doorman wished me a good night, literally, and I proceeded out of the second floor.
Edge has never failed to give me a good night. From the great seating set up to the awesome bartenders and yummy drinks, it's always a good time at Edge! ;D
Been here several times since my first visit and it's safe to say that this club is actually really fun!
If you were to ignore the fact that the club is in Reno, you might mistake it for a club in Vegas. Pretty spacious dance floor, great VIP table locations, and the outdoor patio overlooking part of the Peppermill Casino. Beautiful venue.
If you need bottle service, call and ask for Erik. He's very friendly and will take care of you. On our last visit, our waitress was named Barbara and she was smoking hot. The girl was chatty and not stuck up, and came around constently to make sure we had our drinks and chasers filled. Definitley worth the tip.
Bottles start off at $200 and they add in a 20% gratiuity. It includes admission for 6 people as well. Not a bad deal since if you don't make guestlist, it's going to be $20 a person to get in anyways. Saturday nights tend to be the most packed, and bottles are usually sold out so I like to call Erik the day before I leave for my reservation.
The downfall of this club though might be the kind of people who come here. Again, the crowd is usually hit or miss. My last visit, it was a younger and no-drama crowd. but I have been here on occassions where people are older (usually after Salsa Dance lessons they stay) and creepy. Most people I met are locals, which was cool.
In the beginning of the night, when they waive cover if you're on guestlist, they hold up the line and let girls cut ahead and come in. So the first hour of the night, the ratio of girls to guys is really good. However after midnight or so, when all it takes is $20 to get in, thats when the sausage fest swarms the club. So if you wanna meet chicks, your chances are greater early on!
4 stars easy, this place is fun place to party and I got a couple crazy stories from here so no hate on it at all! Only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 is the lack of consistency with the people who come here!
Went to Reno for  my twins husbands birthday.  We decided to book a VIP booth at Edge.  We arrived pretty close to opening and the guys at the line were really nice and got us in fast.  The waitress who brought out our bottles was pretty nice, didn't see her too many times throughout the night.  My biggest shock and complaint would be the thick cushion-y carpet in the club.  Not thin carpet, Im talking plush thick carpeting! Who the heck decided that was a good idea? Walking in 5" heels on that carpet takes skill.  Yes, the dance floor isn't carpeted but geez. When we went on the dance floor I suddenly felt like a I was a vegetable in the produce section because they started misting the entire dance floor.  Not good if you were to have a weave or anything else that doesn't like moisture.  The music was ok, pretty much your basic top twenty with a few old schools thrown in.  As for visuals they have some girls getting body painted throughout the night.  I would have liked to see at least a few go go dancers.  All in all I would go back to Edge, I can't say I was really impressed by anything but I wasn't disappointed.  We all had a good time from what we can remember.
Review Source:Booked a VIP booth for my husbands birthday with Eric. Service was impeccable. The treated us very nice. The outdoor area was really nice. There were a few lurkers that gave me the creeps in this club but once again, its Reno. The space is set up well with lots of room. Only thing that I found odd was the carpeting through bar and VIP area. Almost forces you to dance of the dance floor only. Out of all of Reno this was the one place we enjoyed visiting and would return too. Thanks to The Edge for a great night. My phone went missing and security took it very serious. The ran the tapes and did everything they could to locate what happened to it. I felt bad the next morning when I found out my husband had it in his pocket lol. At least they care about their customers.
Review Source:This is likely the closest resemblance to a nightclub for a visiting Las Vegan. The flashy atmosphere, high-roller attitude, and the genres of music all resemble the production criteria of Vegas clubs.
I love the staff, super polite and professional, and they have a surprising amount of self-control for the amount of bullshit I see them put up with. I watched them break up fights, escort troublemakers out of the venue, and they seem to appreciate the company of my friend who bought the VIP table for us as they know each other for a good while back.
I don't like however... the locals who come to the club. The white girls here are cocky and snobby, despite them being only "semi-fuckable". Their looks range between 3.5 out of 10 to maybe a 6 out of 10 for the rare one that takes care of herself. Butt-ugly, conceited, gold digging white youngsters, chasing after gullible rich dudes. Some of them are hoodrats to make their daddy mad.
During ladies nights at Thursdays there are ALOT of cougars in the venue, who happens to be the ones that decided to stay after the "Salsa Dance Class". Every Thursday they have Salsa Dance Lessons before they open the club. It gets these lifted-truck driving country girls in the mood to dance :D
The cougars are real nice but creepy. One of them took my phone off the VIP table when I went off to the bathroom, looked through my phone, and then added herself on my contacts list and texted herself. I think her name was "Lisa Petersen", with a "E" or a "O" at the end. You Renoites oughta watch out when you see her, she's a diagnosed crazy, and she's been locked up for domestic violence related matters.
Features in the club, Top 100 tracks including hip-hop and house music. A VERY spacious outside patio with heating lamps for those winter nights. Nonstop cocktail waitresses and bussers are ready to keep your table tidy. The patio even has a TV to show you whats going on back INSIDE the club. Ridiculously fucking awesome XD. A few minor tweaks that stand out that Vegas clubs like the overcrowded Tao oughta learn from.
Anybody who reviewed this venue claiming it was "too loud" is a idiot who lives under a rock. All clubs are LOUD! It adds a atmosphere of discreetness so you can have fun, draw a nice young lady to you with your body language and dance, and take her out. If you needed to talk to somebody, go to the patio. If you need to smoke, go to the patio. Â As far as I know, it NEVER got crowded out there. It's a place to cool off the sweat off your face and kick back for a bit.
I'm surprised that this place is reviewed so poorly. Maybe things are workin' as they should and Yelp has caused positive changes for the club.
I called one of the promoters (I found the number on their website) a few days before my friends and I went to Reno and asked to be guestlisted. Mind you, I asked for myself + 9 others. I believe I spoke to Erik. He cheerfully put me on the guestlist without even trying to sell me bottle service.
The place was really nice looking, I would say even Vegas status. Not as big as most Vegas clubs, but definitely very high-end. The dance floor was crowded, but that was expected. They had some decent go-go dancers, and there were a good amount of bartenders. We kept going to a blonde that was super nice and attentive.
Also, they have a heated outdoor lounge area. It was snowing slightly when we were there, it so beautiful! Definitely a first for me to see snow flakes falling from the sky while out at a club.
If you're from San Jose, trust me, Edge blows our clubs out of the water.
This club is pretty fantastic in Reno. One of our friends is a high roller so we get comped bottle service everytime we come back to Peppermill. If you ever get bottle service, ask for Trista to be your hostess. She's the sweetest!
The club in itself is pretty spectacular, they recently renovated it too. The DJ area is bigger, they had a huge screen, and the go go dancers have their own platform now. It's a great space and it's probably the only club in Reno that is close to a "vegas" club. Come to Edge, you won't regret it!
A quick caveat: I'm reviewing the Salsa lesson/dance from 7:30-10:30 PM on Fridays. Free entrance if you join the VIP list and/or arrive before 8:00.
I had a very negative experience here the first time I visited. I was new in town and went alone, which may explain why my night included a subtle grope and an uninvited trail of kisses down the curve of my neck during a dance. Ew.
THAT SAID: I attended again last week to a much improved experience. The instructor (one Bibi, partner to Kiki...but I suppose that can't be helped) was competent, and the lead dancers on the floor were very patient as I tried out Bachata for the first time. I described my first experience to one, and he  was appropriately horrified - if anyone has a similar trail, Bibi (aforementioned dance instructor) will take care if it for you.
I will reiterate the whole bouncer-on-a-power-trip review, though that may be a persona that helps him do his job very well. Nonetheless, he was not very sympathetic when my very-sticky shoes kept falling off mid-dance (which is, of course, a safety issue from the casino's point of view) and as a result I quit dancing earlier than I would've...bummer.
HOWEVER, AND THIS IS IMPORTANT: if you're bashing the bartender, you aren't approaching him well. I've been totally wowed by this guy. I walk up and say "I'm in the mood for something spicy and strong" or "can you fix me something that's sweet and sour, with a little kick?" and this man performs MAGIC. This time, he nodded and produced FRESH KUMQUATS which he diced into a strong drink that somehow only cost me $6. He is the only bartender in town that has convincingly fulfilled my on-the-spot alcoholic whims, and I pledge loyalty and large tips ad infinitum.
I had never heard of any clubs in Reno until my friends brought me here last night.. The cover is $20 per person (male or female) and free if you are on the guestlist (either call the hotel VIP services or get well acquainted with one of their bartenders, hosts, bouncers, etc.) As soon as you get through the line you enter an elevator to the top floor where the vegas-like club is located.. I was pretty sure the club would be empty on such a random Saturday night but I was wrong! My party was the first in line and within ten minutes the line was wrapped around the 2nd floor of the hotel.. From what I've heard many people are turned away and if you don't arrive early or get on the guestlist, you might as well forget about it! The club layout and decor are very visually pleasing and I was in shock after entering the floor.. You would never think that such a beautiful club would be in Reno! They have an outdoor patio with plenty of seating, multiple fire pits, and a serene platform of water overlooking the hotel pool... Inside there are two bars, lots of VIP booths, a large dancefloor with multiple entrances, and lots of open space to hang around... Drinks run from $8 on upward and it costs an extra $2 for drinks with Redbull in it.. If you tip the bartenders well then they may waive this fee and also make your drinks with a heavy hand [; The music was predominantly top 40s, hip hop, and house and they're open until 4:30 or until the party dies down.. I would definitely recommend checking out this club if you're in the Reno area and are looking for a fun place to party at night..
Review Source:I was going to go in there once. I had been gambling downstairs and I wanted to check the place out. I was definitely decently dressed, but as I was getting near there, the damn bouncers just looked me down in a belittlement kind of way. So I didn't even bother to try and get in.
I keep reading that they have nasty power trips there. If anyone else goes through any of this, I suggest you call the peppermill and file complaints against their actions!
For anyone 25+, this is not your place. Almost everyone is attending college nearby, making them closer to 19-21 years old.
DJ was good from what I remember...glass cubes where girls (employed by club) dance 1/2 naked in various sceneries to the music.
Bar - $8 per drink easily (& that was only for a gin & water!)
Apparently a $20 cover but we edged around that. Super long line to get in so unless you know someone who knows someone, you may wait a while to get in.
A good time for out-of-towners but I wouldn't make this a regular spot if I lived there (probably because I've graduated college already!)
$40 for two to get in
$30 cab ride
$30 drinks
partying with the "wolfpack"... priceless. JK, but seriously the taxi cab drive was so excited when he told us that the wolfpack was going to be there. My bf thought he meant the rap group..I thought he meant the cook LOL
This club was vegas-esque but a bit on the smaller side. The bathrooms were super nice and the music was okay.. and the crowd was really diverse. Apparently UNR won the football game so the school was out celebrating. I wonder how dead it is when they don't win..
Very posh. Â Very upscale. Â Very impressed for Reno's night club.
Had an amazing time on a Saturday night! Â Good crowd, good music. Â Fabulous VIP room and bottle service. Â Very attentive staff.
Peppermill really did a great job to give you the Vegas feel.
Heck, it's better than the clubs in San Jose!
"We can dance if we want to
We can leave your friends behind
Cause your friends don't dance
And if they don't dance
Well they're no friends of mine"
If the above Men Without Hats (Thanks, David O.) lyrics were the parameters in which to gauge Edge, then I'd say that Reno is rampant with fare-weathered friendships.
Because, seriously folks, some nights people will dance , and others they'll simply creep along the walls like hungry hyena's waiting for some poor slizzard soul to fall into their drooling agape jaws. (That's right, slizzard. Don't know what that is? It's cool, neither do I.)
You gotta give the club some credit for trying though. It can't help its local clientele. They recently added some new features: lights, fog, an improved dance floor. And they've been booking some pretty decent live acts as well. But be prepared for exorbitant drink prices. *shrug* It is what it is.
I haven't written Edge of entirely (like, say, Divine and 210 North). I mean, a girl can only dance alone in her bedroom singing into a hairbrush so many times before it just gets old.
Although this place is no Vegas type of a club, it is a pretty bad ass and super nice looking club for Reno. The staff I encountered from the bouncers to the hot bartenders were friendly and polite. The decor inside is pretty cool lots of lights on over the dance floor and go go dancers too always a plus. The DJ was pretty good overall when he didn't try to show off and mix stuff, he got a better response from the crowd when he actually played fun stuff to dance to like "Shots" "Billie Jean" and "California Girls" and more people out dancing as well.
There is limited seating inside with stand up tables unless you want to pay for bottle service. Outside they have a decent sized fire pit patio area with an awesome view of the Peppermill pool, it's a good place to get some air and there is a bar outside as well.
So now the reason for the rating of 3 stars. First off way too many people on a crowded dance floor, it was hard to move without constantly bumping into people even though there were quite a few people bumping and grinding/dry humping on the dance floor. The other reason is some of the crowd.
Don't get me wrong the majority of the people at the club were just people there to have a good time and drink/dance. However, Reno just like Vegas has lots of wanna be Jersey Shore, Affliction/Tap Out tight t-shirt wearing aspiring UFC fighters who roam freely. This group of people are just fun to laugh at and make fun of with your friends. The other group of people are the Ghetto Reno locals which I can some up in 2 words (Thug Life). I mean seriously in this club, even though dress code is enforced if you are in a group of people that is willing to shell out some big money for bottle service they will let you in with your corn rows, baggy shirt and pants, sneakers, and yo gangsta walk, excuse me "your", I don't know what it is, sometimes the street just comes out in me.
Final summary this club is a great club to go to in Reno with a group of people.
Ahh....Reno! The redheaded stepchild of Nevada. Always in the shadow of Las Vegas, but if you do the proper legwork you can still have a damn good time for an overnight trip (2 days is really pushing it though....just suck it up and shell out more $ to visit Lake Tahoe if you have another day to spare).
It seems like most of the nightclub scene in downtown Reno has dried up (or is not recommended) and is mainly composed of dive bars and traditional casino bars/lounges. While my inner lush loves all those type of places, my date and I felt like hitting up a club to dance and The Edge was recommended as one of the better hot spots in town (besides The Beach @ Sierra). So after a few drinks in downtown Reno, we headed off to the Peppermill to check it out.
We got to the club a few minutes after 11PM and were told to wait in the guest-list line since I had put our names on it earlier in the afternoon (guest-list closes at 11:30PM). We waited in line behind about 12-15 people no longer than 15 minutes and made it in free with no issues ($40 saved!). The bouncers were enforcing dress code at the door which I can commend, as $170 Jordan's neither equate to formal wear or a guaranty of a persons maturity level.
The interior of the club is very plush and dim with neon lighting all over. Picture a stereotypical nightclub in your head (think Miami Vice days) and you will have The Edge. A lot of VIP couches/booths spread out all over the club as well, and I believe I spotted a few spots people could just sit and relax if they did not reserve a bottle too.
The drinks were priced typically for a nightclub ($6 Cran/Well Vodka, $10 Adios, etc) and were poured with a heavy hand, so no complaints on that front. The dance floor was packed, but not overly crowded for a Saturday night. So it was nice to at least have some breathing room and not be shoulder to shoulder with strangers all night long. The scene was mainly young with a diverse makeup and I witnessed no fights during my few hours there (I think we left sometime after 2:30, lost track with the drinks).
All in all, a pretty good club to check out if you need your typical night club fix while in Reno. Worth a visit , just make sure to call the Peppermill ahead of time and get on the guest list to save yourself the $20 admission fee.
Pro-Tip: The security in the VIP booth areas seemed to be quite lax as we wandered into a VIP booth area without any push back. After some quick talk and a few jokes we were polishing off the last of a nice couples Grey Goose. So either turn the charm up to 10, or guard your bottle with your life!
Went here this past weekend with a bunch of friends from Reno and had a blast!!
We were able to get on the guestlist so none of us had to pay a cover charge (woohoo!). We got there early because we thought we had to get there before 10pm in order to get in for free. Turns out, we had to wait in the "guestlist line" for about 40 minutes. YAY to Nevada's no-last-call law, we were able to get wristbands and leave right away to go pregame. When we got back, we got in with no problem. Just a flash of the wristband. Almost like VIP!
As far as the interior, it was a typical club. Good sized dance floor, okay music. Big bar. Never took more than 5 minutes to get a drink. Drinks were a little on the pricey side, but that's to be expected. There is a bonfire thing outside and lots of chairs to hang out on.
Personally, my experience at a club is always based on how much fun I had. The service was alright, nothing to complain about. THe company that I was with made it so much better.
This place was so full of racism and obnoxious pricks that my head spun from having to deal with these idiotic bouncers on a power trip.
Early on, we called ADAM who was in charge of the guest list because the website was no longer in service (server error 404: NOT FOUND was the only thing that showed). He told us $5 per person can get us all in. GREAT! Then we get to the club and stand in line, but my friend was told that he wasn't allowed with the shoes he was wearing. What?! He was wearing $120 sneakers and an $8,400 Gucci watch. Seriously? They were letting Caucasian folks in left and right... some who were in basketball shorts and knock-off Jordan's. Some guy wearing NEW BALANCE sneakers got into the club... are you joking? Want to know the similarities these gentlemen had? They were all WHITE.
Seriously, I have no problem with white people. My boyfriend is white. But when I get treated worse for the color of my skin, it gets me riled up real quick, because I KNOW my rights.
I was so upset. We called Adam, he talked to the bouncer, and negotiated $10 per person. Double of what he said before, but still half of what it would cost on a normal basis ($20 per person) so we agreed and gave him $60 (6 people). Adam gives it to the bouncer and then runs off to do another aspect of his job. We're put in line and were again told we could not get our friend in. The bouncer then proceeded to PRETEND to call Adam on his ear walkie and then let us know that Adam had refused us entry. This was after they had taken our $60, otherwise I would have turned my heel and walked straight out! Only after humiliatingly apologizing for no reason of our own and raising this offensive individual's ego did we end up getting in after paying him $20 (which I saw him pocket). This guy didn't even have the GUTS to tell us his real name. He was short, Caucasian, bald, but with clean lined facial hair and looked about late 30's.
Anyways, we eventually found Adam inside the club and told him that we had to pay the bouncer more money because according to "Adam's word" we were still not allowed to enter because of our friends shoes. Adam said "what? I never even got a call from him."
THAT MEANS THAT THE BOUNCERS AND EMPLOYEES OF PEPPERMILL CASINO/HOTEL LIED TO OUR FACES, EMBEZZLED MONEY AND ARE ABOVE ALL RACIST FOOLS!
The only reason why this review gets even one star is because Candice our bartender was awesome.. she's the only thing that made my night better. Only bad thing was that we were served a shot in a cracked glass. Not very safe but luckily there was no glass in it. Once again though, not very impressed. Even less impressive was the featured DJ's mash-ups. I've honestly heard better mash-ups at dingy bars in San Francisco. I don't understand why Edge is so hyped up when it's a BUST to get in there.
Oh and when we were inside, there were people who were wearing all sorts of trashy or poor quality clothing. It was so aggravating to know that we spent money on good quality clothing, time getting ready to look good while all these scantily clad and poorly dressed buffoons got priority over us because of their skin color. Really Reno? REALLY?
Upon leaving, SADE the bouncer explained to us how "high rollers" were the ones dressed like they had just woken up and how they all happened to be white or that they all happened to stay in the VIP suites behind. That's funny. Then why did I see all of them going upstairs? And why did I see them in the club? Liars and racists and scum is what these men seem like to me.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!!!!!!!
Why would you want to go to a place where they forcefully take your money, make you feel inferior, listen to less than decently mixed music and pay for overpriced drinks? Not my cup of tea thank you. If it weren't for my friends wanting to go to a "club" in Reno, I would have straight walked over to any of the bar/lounges at Silver Legacy or even to Atlantis.
I'd rather keep my dignity in tact, thank you, and therefore, I will never return.
This past weekend was my second time in 4 months to Edge. Â I'm not a regular club-goer...just happened to have back-to-back things to celebrate! Â We had a table booked for us Saturday night. Â I got there early to make sure our large party wouldn't have issues getting in. Â I was introduced to the manager, Brian, who assured me that it wouldn't be a problem.
We were all having a great time, even ordered 2 additional bottles on top of the comp'd bottle, plus drinks at the bar. Â (Yes, we are all still hurting). Â Needless to say, at some point in the night, cash was taken from our table and a portion of the bill was put on my credit card. Â I wasn't exactly thrilled to be paying $600 when I didn't feel it was my responsibility to watch over the money set aside for our waitress, Lauren, who was FANTASTIC. Â Obviously, someone lifted the money and both parties were rightfully upset about the situation.
Brian talked to me, and was totally sympathetic. Â He was also very patient with a member of our party who started to get a bit heated about the whole situation. Â I have never been involved in anything like this and if it weren't for Brian's professionalism, kindness, and calm demeanor, I probably would have lost it. Â
Yes, Edge has pricey drinks and requires you to step it up with the wardrobe.....SO WHAT?!? Â Pick one of the 100 dive bars in Reno that you can show up in your sweats to. Â This is a place that exemplifies what a well run club should be like...it's clean, safe, and FUN! Â But its the staff (bartenders, waitresses, and obviously, management) that will be the reason I go back again and again!
Granted I'm not a nightclub kind of girl, but ewwwww. Â I can't think of one thing that this club does right. Â It's poorly designed, has a terrible dj, and the weird soft core porn shots playing on the flat panels on the bars are tacky and not sexy. Â They do not adhere to any kind of dress code as you will see people wearing cheap nasty clothes (lots of cheap polyester dresses and I guess affliction logo tees and sunglasses indoors count as dressed up for the guys?) Â I don't mind diversity in a club, in fact I favor it, but this club gets weird "non club" types wandering in from the casino (some way older couples that seem intent on picking up younger girls to take back to their trailer for the night) mixed in with barely legal looking asian girls wearing tight shirts as dresses, your usual college party-harders, your wanna-be hip hop stars of Reno, and lots of creepy lurkers. Â
The dance floor reminds me of a community center wedding reception hall. Â For a club this size a multi-level dance area would benefit the overall feel, but it's one long rectangular-ish floor flanked by booths full of creepy old guys leering into the crowd. Â The dj was so bad the night I went that there were several moments where people actually stopped dancing and looked around bewildered at what the dj was trying to do (he was trying to mashup some rock and rap and it wasn't working). Â
The balcony is nice, but it's smokers paradise too. Â I would never ever pay money to get into this club. Â I was VIP listed and escorted in and I still felt it was gross. Bartenders and waitstaff work diligently and they have the skankiest dressed gogo dancers in town (good looking girls, all petite and pretty) But the overall feeling here is "ick nast"
This place seems a little pretentious. There were lots of beautiful people there, but it seemed like it was trying to be this ultra hip club scene in Reno, and just barely missing the mark. The last time I was there they had some weird photoshoot/hot girl in lingerie contest happening on the stage. It was pretty gross (they were aiming for hot girl but that didn't really happen) and creepy. Also, about 4 different guys tried to start shit with my boyfriend by grabbing me as I walked by.
Anyway. Not a fan.
Oh and PS it was $20 for our guys to get in, but someone working there pulled me and my sissy to the front of the line and let us in free cuz we're hot ;)
This was a pretty nice club but for what it costs I was not blown away.
There is a big dance floor that is flanked by booths on all sides. The music that the DJ was playing was good and there was a good vibe and a nice mix pf people at the club. We had bottle service so I didn't check out any of the bars other than to get some water and at that time of the night (around 3:30) it wasn't busy and I didn't get any crap from the bar tender which was nice.
I came here with a graduation party and we had a booth for which there was a 4 bottle minimun which came out to about $800 with tip and it seemed a little excessive but understandable for how busy of a night it was.
The other thing that was a bit of a downer besides the price was that we had to wait to get in. In my opinion if we were in the VIP section there shouldn't really be a reason to hold us up outside the club. We had to wait 20-30 minutes to get in, although it was better than the hour plus it was taking the regular folk to get in. But still come on that was a long time for the money that our group spent in the bar.
Overall it was a fun night and was a pretty cool club. It has a good vibe but is pricey and away from downtown so it is more of a place that you have to stay all night or pay for a cab up Virgina to downtown.
