Every time I travel through Chicago I make it a point to get a stuffed pie. Sometimes it works out great, sometimes not so much. Unfortunately, I found my Edwardo's stuffed pie to be a huge disappointment. The texture was good, the ingredients seemed fresh. The problem is they lacked flavor. My wife agreed that it just didn't hold a candle to the pie I picked up last time through from Spuntino's, a bit west of O'Hare (also 4-stars on Yelp). And don't get me wrong, I'm no food snob. I like bad Chicago pizza, it doesn't have to be awesome to get 5 stars. The toppings were bland - I'm not sure how sausage can be bland, but it was. The crust was okay. The cheese was okay. The sauce was okay. I guess that sums up how I felt about their stuffed pizza... It was just okay (for $25+ per pie!).
Review Source:(sigh) One of the very worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. I have been to this place TWO times in the past week and  the service was very iffy the first time, the second time disgraceful.
The first time i went , it was 2:30 , and i was very excited considering Edwardos is my FAVORITE pizza and i live in the south suburbs so traveling all the way to Chicago isn't so fun.
The First time i went was just okay. Not bad, Not good. The Food Was excellent though!
But the second time was absolutely terrible.
My Hubby , My friend, and I were out for black friday and we decide to go get pizza because we all were hungry and i knew this was best place to quench it at the time.
We get there and its full pretty much. As soon as we walk in, i go up to the counter and ask for a table for three. We go sit down at an open booth, and as we sit some old lady just stares at us when we sit and even turns around to look at us. Whatever.
The waitress comes and asks what we want to drink , my friend orders and i don't. i order the Edwardos Special w/NO MUSHROOMS. and i repeat it. She says okay , Takes The order to the kitchen and that's that. I notice that Every single table has bread on it but ours. and i see other waitresses bringing out bread to people. Wtf?
After 5 minutes i decide i should make the pizza larger and it was already in the oven, so i order a small stuffed. As time goes by (about 20 Minutes or so) she brings out the pizza and it has  mushrooms on it(alot of them) I already wasn't feeling well so my hub and friend go up to tell them about the pizza. They only got 3 word answers and they didn't even act like it mattered that she messed up the order. The WORST part is when they were walking back to the table, my hubby SAW the chef withOUT gloves , whip his nose on his hand, and then puts his hand BACK IN THE PIZZA DOUGH. -_______-
They come back to the table and the waitress comes up with and attitude saying "Do you want me to remake it or just take it off the bill." with absolutely NO apology. I say just take it off. She walks away . My hubby and friend decided after seeing the chef contaminate the dough they want to leave. So before we left, my friend calls over another waitress to ask her about speaking to a manager .
"Is the manager here?, Because I'd like to speak with them."
"No not at the moment."
"Well , Who is your supervisor?
"Joe."
"Can I speak to him please?"
"he's not here."
"Well, Who's in charge?"
"The Other Waitress."
"can i just speak with her then?"
She says okay and walks away. Meanwhile, My friend said he saw the girl walk in the kitchen and just talk about it with attitude and hand gestures , while  the waitress that served us gave him dirty looks. At That point it was the final straw and we got up and left immediately.
So disappointing, the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. Whats even worse is this Edwardos was my 2nd Favorite after the Lincoln Park location. I dint even know if i will ever give this place a chance again. for now, its to Lincoln Park i go.
I love this place because their deep dish is amazing!! I always get the pizza to go because there is so much cheese on there it is somewhat embarassing eating it in front of others. Also, I love to stuff my face and really don't want others to see my inner animal attacking the pizza. Just saying.
I love the fact that they offer a whole wheat crust but my general feeling is that if you are having a deep dish pizza, just go all the way.
Mow my favorite part, the cheese.... eat the pizza while it is really hot or wait for it to cook because if it is in the middle area, you are likely to choke on the cheese. YUM!
The sauce is amazing, most other places in the area are known for sweet sauces. DISGUSTING! The sauce here is amazing! The perfect balance of natural sweetness and tang.
