  A dear friend of mine used Yelp (yes, Yelp!) to locate this place as we were headed toward Crawfordsville, IN. Being a group of 7, we were luckily seated quickly. The menu had several options of great dishes and I ended up opting for a chicken ranchero selection. Yum, yum. It was the perfect meal to energize us for the rest of our trip. Everyone at the table seemed to be impressed with what they had, so that was good. A satisfied group is a happy group. Though you feel as if you're in the middle of nowhere and El Campestre is within a strip of other stores and restaurants, it stands its ground.

  Thank you Yelp for this great find! Can't say that I've ever stopped to grab a bite to eat in Brownsburg but on this particular visit it was right on our path between Indy and Turkey Run State Park. After many o' many beef tacos, tamales, rice y beans (time and time again), I opted to go for the soup this time. I expected a tortilla soup of sorts but instead I found myself spoon deep in a bowl of chicken, rice, stewed tomatoes, fresh avocado chunks and onions. I can't quite put my finger on it but it's just not the same as tortilla soup - it's better!
  
  Alright, alright, oh rural one - I'll be back to Brownsburg - you've won me over.

  This has to be one of the best Mexican restaurants on the Westside of Indy. I've been to numerous Mexican restaurants and this tops them all. It reminds me of my trips to Cancun. Chips and Salsa are great. I had one one of their specialties. It's a burrito (sorry forget the name, to many wonderful margaritas) with shrimp, chicken, steak green chilis wrapped in a flour tortilla. Topped with white cheese sauce and green chili sauce with a side of rice. If you like Mexican you have to try this place. Absolutely amazing!

  Absolutely love this place.  There are tons of Mexican places in and around Indy, but this is definitely my favorite.  Also, if you are allergic to wheat or gluten like me, you can substitute flour tortillas for corn tortillas. Delicious!

  Had a very good dinner here. Chips and Salsa was good. Salsa was a little runny but tasted excellent.
  Waiter was pleasant and took my order quickly, then returned to check on me several times.
  Place was clean and organized.
  If I was close by I would visit them again.

  El Campestre has great service and nice staff. I compare them to El Mason off Michigan Road,,,that was our favorite place until moving to Brownsburg this July. Now we have a new favorite place for Mexican!
  They have all the basics in Mexican food, but Yes there salsa is good- not runny, just right!
  They are also catering our wedding!!
