The Resturant has expanded the bar area to accomodate a live band on Friday and Saturday nights from 9:00 - 12:00. Huge improvement and nicely done. The bar area after 9:00 pm. is 21 and over. They are offering appetizers ONLY from 9:00 - 10:00 p.m. Drinks only after 10:00 p.m. Excellent service from our waitress.
I had the Pulled Pork Salad, $7.50, with mixed greens, Â tomatoes, cheese, cucumbers and croutons. Several dressing offered but I chose to go with the Haberano Sauce. Â You have to ask for the Haberano auce. It isn't sitting on table with other sauces. Salad is large, crisp, fresh and topped with a large portion of pulled pork. You still get the pulled pork without all the additional calories.
My husband had the Hickory Smoked Texas Beef Brisket on Texas toast plus baked potatoe for his one side for $8.95. He said it was the best and most tender brisket he has ever had anywhere. This wasn't his first Brisket here but they obviously had outdone themselves. The potatoe was larger than normal and slightly undercooked but still enjoyable.
There seemed to be some confusion with the hostess when we tried to sit in the bar area around 7:30 as they were trying to not seat people in bar and keep clear until 9:00 for the band. Unfortunatley this had caused a lenghtly wait in the waiting area. We went ahead and checked out the bar area to find numerous empty tables. Bar waitress, very friendly and helpful, said have a seat and of course we explained the 20 minute wait at the door. We did have dinner immediately and thanks to the waitress she tried to eliminate the wait for the other customers.
In all the years we've been coming here there never has been the chaos we encounter Friday night. Waitress said their still trying to work out the bugs. Hope so since the waiting area is much narrower. Don't hestitate to just walk into the bar for dinner, especially if your over 21. Food is still great even if you have to wait a few minutes.
If you find yourself in Brownsburg for some sorry reason, I would definitely recommend Pit Stop BBQ to make your suburban day not as much of a bummer. Seriously though, the BBQ is pretty damn good. The prices are very reasonable and the service is great. They have a buffet on some nights that is totally worth the $10.95. Apparently the whole town knows about the buffet deal, as the place was packed during our last visit. I also dig that the have all the sauces out on the tables for you to sauce from.
