The Resturant has expanded the bar area to accomodate a live band on Friday and Saturday nights from 9:00 - 12:00. Huge improvement and nicely done. The bar area after 9:00 pm. is 21 and over. They are offering appetizers ONLY from 9:00 - 10:00 p.m. Drinks only after 10:00 p.m. Excellent service from our waitress.

I had the Pulled Pork Salad, $7.50, with mixed greens,  tomatoes, cheese, cucumbers and croutons. Several dressing offered but I chose to go with the Haberano Sauce.  You have to ask for the Haberano auce. It isn't sitting on table with other sauces. Salad is large, crisp, fresh and topped with a large portion of pulled pork. You still get the pulled pork without all the additional calories.

My husband had the Hickory Smoked Texas Beef Brisket on Texas toast plus baked potatoe for his one side for $8.95. He said it was the best and most tender brisket he has ever had anywhere. This wasn't his first Brisket here but they obviously had outdone themselves. The potatoe was larger than normal and slightly undercooked but still enjoyable.

There seemed to be some confusion with the hostess when we tried to sit in the bar area around 7:30 as they were trying to not seat people in bar and keep clear until 9:00 for the band. Unfortunatley this had caused a lenghtly wait in the waiting area. We went ahead and checked out the bar area to find numerous empty tables. Bar waitress, very friendly and helpful, said have a seat and of course we explained the 20 minute wait at the door. We did have dinner immediately and thanks to the waitress she tried to eliminate the wait for the other customers.

In all the years we've been coming here there never has been the chaos we encounter Friday night. Waitress said their still trying to work out the bugs. Hope so since the waiting area is much narrower. Don't hestitate to just walk into the bar for dinner, especially if your over 21. Food is still great even if you have to wait a few minutes.

We had excellent service. They were fairly busy and we got right in. The special was the 3 meat meal. It was delicious and I had leftovers for lunch tomorrow. The staff was very attentive and the dining area was clean.

If you find yourself in Brownsburg for some sorry reason, I would definitely recommend Pit Stop BBQ to make your suburban day not as much of a bummer. Seriously though, the BBQ is pretty damn good. The prices are very reasonable and the service is great. They have a buffet on some nights that is totally worth the $10.95. Apparently the whole town knows about the buffet deal, as the place was packed during our last visit. I also dig that the have all the sauces out on the tables for you to sauce from.

I grew up around this area, and my family is always on the lookout for excellent smoky ribs. I'm not the hugest fan of ribs (so messy!) but I will try them everywhere i go, and i have to say that the pit stop ribs are the best I've had! I had takeout a couple days ago. The meat was so juicy, tender, and smoky. The sauce was great! The toast points looked too buttery for me, but in the spirit of being a good sport, I ate them anyways. I don't know about the other food on their menu, but GO FOR THE RIBS!!!

I'm a local from Brownsburg and have eaten here several times.  I find that the BBQ is very good and have always enjoyed it.  My complaint with them is their brunch on Sundays is way overpriced and has gone down hill from when they first started offering it.  You can go to Shoneys or Golden Corral and find the same quality of items for half the price with the exception of their waffles, which are quite tasty.
We also went to their Thanksgiving Brunch thinking it had to be better since it was a holiday meal.  Wrong......unless you like instant mash potatoes.  Vey below par and a very small selection for what they charge.  If you want the ribs I would say go, but stay away from any of their brunch specials.

Well, had never been here before.  Very clean, nice atmosphere!!  Had the buffet, had about the same quality of food as any buffet.  Would not go out of my way to make a special trip, but will keep it in mind when thinking of places to eat.  Nothing to write home about.

We visited The Pit Stop on a recent trip to Indy. It's not really anything fancy & the food is good. Our experience was a good one! I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with the beans and tried all the sauces they offered, all of them had their own unique flavor and were all good.

Hubby had the brisket sandwich and a side of Mac & cheese, both of which were delicious. The brisket was excellent.

Our server was friendly, accommodating and kept our ice tea glasses filled...

Good BBQ is hard to find in Indy. I am split on Pit Stop. Their ribs are the best I have had in the state and their sauces are great. Their pulled pork is among the worst I've had, the brisket is a little better and their sides are average, at best. I will go back for the ribs, but will probably do takeout. I gave them a two, because my wife said her pulled pork sandwich and onion rings meal ranked in the top ten worst meals she's ever had. She was serious. Go for the ribs.

This place is overpriced and under flavored. The meat has always been dry with little to no smoky taste. I don't like paying for meat that tastes like it's been boiled. Save the BBQ for people who know how to do it right - south of the Ohio River. Yankees just don't have the skills for good q.

I was at a family event over the weekend which they catered.  The owner came out and served the food for us and it was delicious. He made sure I knew the beans would be the best I ever had and he was right! I didn't care how hot it was outside I still made sure I went back for more.

I wish I lived closer so I could go in and try more of the menu items.

AMAZING! If you love BBQ you want, nay, NEED to get to this place! Everything I've tasted here has been great. The brisket is to die for as it literally melts in your mouth. My favorite to order is the three meat (four meat, if youre feeling adventureous) combo with brisket, pulled pork, and ribs and sides of pit beans and creamed corn. I salivate just thinking about this place. Not only is the food great but the service is good too. I've never had a problem with food coming out too late or having to go look for a server. And the everytime I go it seems like the place isnt too busy as I've never had to wait for a table. 5 stars indeed!

We recently went to the Sunday Brunch and like an other reviewer mentioned it was a little pricey for breakfast (but not for a Sunday Brunch).
We arrived at 1:10 and found several items on the tables were empty. We waited patiently for them to fill them. At 1:40 I asked the server if they were working on restocking  the buffet, we were told that they close at 2:00 and would not be making more food. So if your only going to have half a buffet after 1:00, perhaps you should charge half price. Also the yolks in an eggs benedict are supposed to be soft not hard boiled.

Everytime I say, "We're going to dinner with my sister and brother-in-law" my boyfriend says Pit Stop! It truly is the man's answer to MEAT COMA! Every barbequed meat is tender and juicy. Their sauces are mouth watering. And the PIT BEANS! OHHHH don't get me started. Though I'm never allowed to eat them again :). Great appetizer- Potato Skins. Try it with BBQ sauce. Side to skip- Onion rings, soso! If they're serving- CREAMED CORN, GET IT! Yum!

Brunch on Sunday is great, and everyone is very friendly.  It's a little pricey for breakfast, but I enjoy it regardless.  It's also nice to have a big, clean bbq spot for lunch and dinner that is close to home.

This place is so good, it's stupid. The barbeque is awesome, but I prefer the BLT. (I know is sounds simple, but it's sooooo good.) Their sides are also delicious. I have never had a meal here that didn't exceed expectations.  The service is decent. The sauces are what really puts this place on the map though.

    Awesome BBQ in Brownsburg.
We recently tried this place for the first time. We had been craving BBQ for a couple weeks and when the chance presented itself to quench our BBQ thirst, we jumped at the opportunity. The restaurant is tucked away next to the Speedway gas station in Brownsburg and doesn't look like much from the outside-it used to be a Chinese buffet. Inside, the decor is racing themed, which is to be expected because of the name. The atmosphere is comfortable and the front room is filled with tables and large, comfy, leather chairs with arm rests. There was no wait and we were seated right away. The service was absolutely amazing!! The wait staff were super friendly and exceeded expectations. We even got a friendly visit from the owner while we were there. We all commented on the great service as we were leaving the restaurant and my exact quote was, "they know how to keep customers."
We ordered the catfish fingers as an appetizer and were brought enough fingers to accommodate our group of 5 (more than the average order). The catfish fingers tasted fresh and were very good. We all ordered combo platters and I have to say the ribs were the star on my plate. They had an amazing smokey flavor, were tender, but not too tender, and were nice and meaty. I also got chicken and brisket. The brisket was a little dry and the chicken was good, but no match for the ribs. Next time I'll definitely get just ribs! The sides were OK, I was disappointed by the lack of mac & cheese. Overall a wonderful dining experience that I highly recommend.
