Best chips and salsa.  And how often do you hear about a Mexican food buffet.  My favorites had to be the chile relleno (bell peppers stuffed with cheese for you non-Español speakers) and the pollo en mole. Â
The place is all setup for banquet hall events but has seating up front. Â A plus is that they have WiFi, in case you find yourself needing to connect while you're doing your business in Little Village. Â
Only been here once, but will definitely try it again.
A Mexican buffet was a concept that I had never even thought of, but it does exist at this spot!
Plenty of pozole and menudo at the joint as well as a few mexican dishes that taste almost like grandma makes em!
As a below reviewer stated below, I was looking for chiles rellenos but they werent there which was a big disappointment for me :( Â If they were there and if they were good im sure i would have given this place 5 stars.
Don't worry about the neighborhood though...if you go on a sunday morning the area is filled with families and im sure no one is going to steal your wallet on a street that's as busy as 26th st (interesting fact: 26th st rakes in the 2nd most cash out of any street in Chicago after N Michigan Ave.)
Mexican buffet what? Yessir! Menudo and Pozole gallore! It's like a little piece of Mexican heaven...
If you have ever been to Little Village you know it's an experience like no other. You have a very peculiar way of life, very distinctive shops, and wonderful food. Since the age of 6,  the first time I sat  at El Concordia for my brother's wedding, I knew there was something special about this place. It could be the fact that this strong hold pillar, of 26th St., is not only a restaurant/ night club/ and banquet hall, but it is also a buffet. And yes they do have a full bar for all of your favorite desires!
For a fee of $9.00 per person you are entitled first and foremost to fill up on Menudo and Pozole until your little heart is content. Let me just say it's not just quantity it's quality baby! They have all your servings for either or like radishes, cabbage, onion, lemon, and never ending tortillas (just ask the tortilla lady to keep them warm for you).
If you're not a fan of either of these, they offer traditional dishes like Bistec A La Mexicana (sauteed steak. green onions, peppers, and tomatoes) which is out of this world. They also offered a rare but delicious sweet Mole, which I thought only my family made. Broiled chicken, and then a baked chicken with Achiote seasoning. This is some real Mexican cooking! On this day they were not offering the Chile Rellenos (stuffed Poblano peppers) which is the reason I did not give them 4 stars. Your usual rice, beans, spaghetti, hot sauces, salads, arroz con leche (rice pudding), Jello, and fruits did make an appearance.
Over all pros:
-Great tasting, never ending food
-Service is on point, you get seated A.S.A.P.
-You can get a beer or an actual drink from the bar with your meal
-Can't beat $9.00 anywhere
Over all cons:
-Neighborhood, please keep your eyes open and be aware of your surroundings at all times.
-Parking, it's all street parking, good luck!
I'm surely going here again soon, it's a tradition for me to go here, and if you haven't been here it's an experience like no other. Try it!
