You just cant beat this place for Breakfast Lunch or Dinner on a budget...the breakfast is 3 eggs, cuban bread, coffee, and like a pound of bacon for around $3.00....,
Gotta have the Cuban Sandwich for Lunch  for about $5.00, and if your looking for a dinner that will have you back again the next day...try the Vaca Fritas and the Ham and Cheese Empanadas.... YUMMY!
Found El Mambo when I clicked the "nearby" button on Yelp on the way into Cape Coral from the airport. Â We went for breakfast after the farmers market Saturday and I have to admit when we first pulled up/walked in I was a little worried...let's just say it's the 3rd D of Guy Fieri's show. Â Once my cafe con leche/cuban coffee arrived my worries subsided. Â I am not kidding when I tell you it was the best coffee I have ever had (I took a large to go when we left too). Â My daughter ordered the ham and cheese turnover and loved it (It was $1.25 which is ridiculously cheap). Â I had the 3 eggs and bacon which came with cuban bread. Â The eggs were eggs but the bacon was awesome, thick cut and cooked to a crisp, but not overdone, perfection. Â I also took some pastries home with us-a cheese pastry and a guava pastry and they were delicious. Â So Breakfast for 4, a large coffee and 4 pastries to go came to $18. Â Can't wait to try for lunch!
Review Source:This small diner is the best, most authentic food north of Havana. Â The portions are plentiful and the flavors amazing. Â Get the pan fried plantains for an appetizer. Â The chicken with onions is incredible and the chicken noodle soup, served as a side, is flavorful and filling. Â Great place and very reasonable.
Review Source:We found this place on yelp while visiting the grandparents and after a string of Little Cesars Pizza and McDonalds we were hurting for some good food. El Mambo hit the spot. My husband and I each got one of the lunch specials which were advertised at $7.99. I had the shredded beef and he had the roasted pork ribs. Both had great flavor and were very tender. For sides we had white rice, red beans, sweet plantains and a side salad. The rice was as to be expected, the salad was a choke on my part so skip that, the beans were good and the plantains were perfect a little crispy from frying. Â The service was just fine, we didn't realize we were supposed to pay up front until we had been sitting 10 minutes waiting for our check. When we went to pay our meals rang up for $5.99 which was unexpected but appreciated.
Review Source:Around the corner is  El Mambo II. I felt I was in Cuba. I had breakfast for $3.17 not including tip  OBA OBA OBA...WOW WOOW.
3 large eggs fried( or scramble), 6-7 slices bacon (ham?) butter hot bread and a double espresso. WOW Â what a steal. It hot and good/ They had large glass display of bake goods also. All freshly made.
A wonderful hole in wall. not so hectic as on Del Prado
Great food, great prices, great proportions. Everything at lunch tasted great. This would be at the top of our list but the service is pretty bad. From waiting for drink refills, to almost having to tackle the waitress to get our check we are very disappointed in what nearly is one of the best eats in Cape Coral. Still if you are patient the food is certainly worth the visit.
Review Source:We were in this part of Cape Coral around breakfast time, so thanks exclusively to YELP we just had to try out this place.
What a find! It's fantastic!
The quality of the food is high, but let me mention the prices. We each ordered the Breakfast Special for $2.99. It included 3 eggs, Cuban bread toasted, a large helping of bacon, sausage or ham AND cafe con leche. Amazing, really. We also ordered two empanadas at $1 each, a meat and a ham & cheese. The total bill for the two of us, including tax but not tip was a ridiculous $8.46. There was so much food, we took home part of the meal.
I hate to dwell on price in a review, but in this case I thought it should be mentioned.
The meal itself, by the way, was excellent.
Food - 5 STARS

Ambiance/Decor - 3 STARS
We found this restaurant on yelp and went this morning for breakfast. Â The breakfast special was 3 eggs to order, a hefty serving of thick cut bacon or sausage, toast AND Coffee for $2.99 (amazing). Â We also tried a couple of the Cuban specialties as sides and they were delicious! Â The servers were also very nice and prompt. Â I would strongly recommend this restaurant!
Review Source:no, not a very good place if you want good service and a clean place...some food may be good but the overall isn't worth it....the owners even had cars towed from their lot on 4th of july...HAPPY 4TH! they aren't from here (usa) and said they didn't care what day it was..........BOYCOTT
Review Source:Not bad! Â Cuba!
I ordered a turnover, it was like a Cuban hot pocket. Â Boy, was it good.
I also had a shredded beef, not the best quality meat, although you can tell it was prepared well. Â
The tamales were moist and had a more than normal corn taste to them. Â Very good.
Good service, and Cuba is Good.
Fantastic! Â Wouldn't typically order a turnover, but what a good call! Â Best I've ever had. Â Between my husband and I, we got a little bit of everything. Â Incredibly great! Â Service was fast and friendly. Â Normally I don't repeat restaurants on vacations, but we will definitely return! Â
Amazing pork!
El Mambo was a quick stop for breakfast on our way doing the touristy thing in the Keys...blew our socks off!! The café con leche (espresso coffee with warm milk) was amazing and the food delicious. We had the standard eggs, thick sliced but lean bacon and included tostada for dipping in the coffee. Wanting to try the empanadas, we got a chicken empanadas that could have served two. All this for $10. We didn't try but heard others inside talking about the milkshakes - mango, papaya, guava...wanted to come back to try them, but time ran out. Will be back!
