I think we will be talking about this meal for the rest of our lives. Â The service is fantastic, the decor modern, and the cocktails exciting. Â But, really, the food is just crazy good. Â First, you get fresh, warm bread rolls and whipped butter. Â Then, if you choose the $47 menu choices, you indulge in a non-throwaway menu that includes 3 courses and a glass of a nice wine. Â We had the salmon rillettes to start -- fresh and delicious. Â Then, I had the gnocchi with chimichuri, farm fresh egg and short rib. Â This was maybe the best pasta I've ever had. Â My boyfriend had the paella with the freshest seafood he's maybe ever had outside of Spain -- and the homemade chorizo and rice was also just amazing. Â For dessert, we had the fantastic doughnut holes and the molecular gastronomy that was the Greek yogurt cheesecake with basil sponge cake. While the cheesecake was a little too savory for my sweet tooth, my boyfriend loved it. Â
Oh, and did I mention, the compliments-of-the-chef grape juice drink with an almond crust and after dinner orange creamsicle pop and caramel candy. Â
I'm going to be dreaming about my meal from here on out.
Our favorite meal in Aspen! The Little Nell is the very picture of perfection when it comes to customer service, and this adjoining restaurant is no exception. Clean, modern, minimalist interior. Outstanding customer service that was beyond polite and entered the realm of actually nice and sincerely friendly. All dishes were generous with rich and nuanced flavor, starting with their fabulous warm rolls all the way through dessert. We took advantage of their off-season fixed price menu, which was an amazing way to explore the place in an affordable way. A decadent, fun two hours at this special place - the first one in Aspen to which we're eager to return!
