I really wanted to like this place.  We came here with a group of people and the people on the phone were super nice.  They even set us up at the backbar so we had a more private place for our group.  W liked the look and feel of the place.

However, the service was not good at all.  They seemed very understaffed and the bartender was also the only server in the room so you can imagine what it was like for 15 of us trying to get drinks.  He wasn;t even behind the bar half the time.  To his defense, they just needed another person working that room.

The food was very sub-par.  More than half of us did not like what we ate.  Salad was soaked in dressing and if you don't know how to prepare pork belly, don't put it on the menu.  Definitely disappointed.

I hope they turn this place around because I love bars/brewery's like this.  Just needs some attention to detail with the service and in the kitchen.

We have been going to Emmetts in West Dundee for several years and now we go to the Palatine location.  When we first went to Emmetts a long time ago the food was really outstanding.  However, they changed chefs years ago and the food is really suffering.  When we go there I order the cheddar soup, appetizers, salads and sandwiches.  Their entrees are terrible now and I wouldn't spend money on those.  Emmetts, please fix yourself!  We went there a few days ago and my husband's entree was not good and the service was very bad.  It's a shame, it's got great ambience but the rest is lacking................too bad.

I've never been disappointed here at Emmett's. I came here a few years ago for their Halloween party, which was awesome, and have been back many times since.

The bar feels upscale, is small enough to feel cozy but big enough to not feel like you're on top of the person next to you.

The food is consistently good, the beer is good, and the waitstaff is enjoyable.

The beer cheese soup is so good, and the soft pretzel that comes with it is great (you can get the pretzel without the soup - score!).

I drive by this place often, wish I had gone here sooner!

I am a recent GlutenFree person, so I am always on the prowl for a new place that is GF friendly.   Emmett's has a complete GF menu and our server seemed to understand.  He was helpful and had some great suggestions.

I was here for lunch. Ill be back for dinner.   I was very happy with the welcoming attitude they had towards GF.  It's nice to be accommodated with a smile.  Thank You Emmett's !

I don't think I'll be running back to Emmett's anytime soon.  The only thing that it has going for it is the atmosphere/ambience.  Everything else was pretty dismal.

We arrived about 7ish on Saturday with a group of 7.  The hostess looked at us like she was confused and said "ummm, it'll be mayyyybe twenty to thirty minutes?"  We said okay.  She asked if we'd rather sit in the dining room or pub.  I said whichever came available first.  She said okay.  We went to wait in the bar.

About 20 minutes later, she came over.  She asked "do you want to try to squeeze into a booth made for six?"  We asked how much longer we'd have to wait for a table that would seat us comfortably.  "ummm... probably about another 30-40 minutes."  What?!  1st note to Emmett's:  Teach your hostesses either how to time things out or seat your servers better.  Also, to apologize when she mis-quotes times the first time.  She didn't give a crap that we were a little miffed that a 30 minute wait would've turned into an hour plus.

So, we squeezed into the booth, which actually wasn't so bad.  Our server (forgot his name, or he never told us...) took our drink and appetizer orders (no writing - not sure if it's his own deal or restaurant policy).  Drinks came - he took our dinner order (again - no writing.)   We had 6 burgers and one salad.

The appetizers came out right away (and were pretty tasty - the pretzels with honey mustard I would eat again,) but the entrees took probably another hour.  Did they have to kill the cow?

When the entrees did come, there were several errors (2nd note: Let your servers write things down, or encourage them to do so!  It doesn't prove to your patrons that you are cool if your staff doesn't write down orders - it just pisses them off when the order comes wrong.)

I ordered the burger that touted bacon jam and a sunny-side egg.  It sounded amazing.  It was nothing special.  The burger patty was thin, pre-formed, and possibly had come frozen.  If I'm going to pay $12 for a burger, don't you think the patty should be a fresh, hand-formed, thick, juicy, delicious thing?

The sweet potato fries and the truffle fries I tasted were good, I have to give them that.

Kicker:  Yes, I know they brew their own beer, but one of the guys at our table prefers Budweiser.  He had a few while we were waiting and eating and waiting.  At one point, the server brings him one.  It's the FOURTH OF JULY BOTTLE.  It's months past its expiration date.  When the server comes back, he doesn't apologize, but brings another one, that's *less expired, but still expired.*  Again, no apology, just an offer to "check the basement."  I don't care if you brew your own stuff, if you are offering bottles - they should be within their expiration timeframe.

Sorry Emmett's - you just didn't cut the mustard.

So I have been to Emmett's several times, and unless you are going for $.50 wings on Wednesday your best bet is to head elsewhere.  I have had multiple different things there and so have several of my friends, and unless you are getting the wings the food is just not very good and it is overpriced for what it is.  Service is normally decent, but drinks have a tendency to take a while to get refilled and I hate after waiting 10 mins for a drink for it so show up after the meal.  It's a shame that this place hasn't stepped it up.  When I think of quality bars and bar food in the area Emits never comes to mind (think Lucky Monk, Lincoln Whiskey Kitchen, even Champp's and Moretti's I prefer over here)

But the WINGS are worth the trip on Wednesday and they do have very good blue cheese olives for my fellow martini lovers out there.  They are some of my favorite in the area, but it I remember correctly on non Wednesdays they are $11.99 for 9 of them.

I have been here three times. Twice for lunch, which was nice and an enjoyable experience. The last time was for dinner. We were told it was going to be a 30 min wait for a table. That was fine so we waited in the bar. After waiting for 5 min and needing to still wave the bartender over, we finally got drinks. Almost an hour later we got to sit down. Our waitress came to take our drink order, brought the drinks back 10 min later and then didn't come back to take our food order for another 20 min. We finally got our food after another hour after sitting down. We had mentioned that we were unhappy with the wait  to the waitress so a man brought out food and my husband made a comment about the wait again. The man just said, "I checked the ticket and you ordered 20 min ago", and walked away.  I was shocked at the way he spoke to us and asked who he was and we find out that he was the general manager. I couldn't believe that a GM would treat customers like that. Its was a very disappointing dinner because of the customer service. Food was fine, but at that point a little hard to enjoy. So lesson learned, I guess customers don't come first here in the managers mind.

I give these guys credit for their consistent ability to disappoint me.  Their fries are some of the best I've ever had outside of Belgium/Netherlands, and I love the sauce they come with.

However the rest of the menu is ok at best, and their bars are exasperatingly bland.

Experience here is really hit or miss with both service and food quality.

    The good:
-pretzel sticks. I live for wasabi butter; why is this not everywhere?
-their seasonal five course dinners with beer pairing, unlimited beers before, a guided tour of the brewery, and way better food and service than their day to day fare

    The bad:
-the food inconsistency. their cheddar ale soup is great (one of the bf's fave foods) when it's on, but they are not shy to give you an overcooked soup approaching queso consistency and salt lick sodium levels. I have also gotten a watery, clearly not ready soup. maybe it's just me, but I would rather a server tell me if I'm better off subbing something out...which brings me to
-the service. sometimes it is okay, usually it is terribly distracted, slow, and unhelpful

    The meh:
-pretty much all of their food aside from what I've mentioned. The bf and I have tried several things here and nothing was cravable--we were coming back for his cheddar ale addiction--but since that has gone south we stopped our previously frequent visits

Totally exceeded our expectations. By "tavern", half expected more informal, more bar atmosphere. But this was more upscale than average restaurant in decor and menu and more restaurant than bar for sure. Our party of three very much enjoyed our entree selections and the sampler paddle of house microbrews. Our waitress (Therese??) was delightful and attentive. Very much looking forward to returning again this year. PS looks like dining area could easily be partitioned for party rooms and a banquet room was visible downstairs.

I have a love/hate relationship with this restaurant.  Either the service is excellent or terrible - you never know what you will experience when you decide to have a meal here.  I take a chance every once in a while, sometimes it is good, sometimes I have to leave because I hate bad service.  Last night the place was quite and not too busy.  We received good service in the bar and enjoyed a light meal and some wine.  The food is good, but bad service does ruin a good meal.  We tried a flight of their beers last night and really enjoyed that - will be picking some up to bring home soon.  I feel like they don't promote their own brew very much.  After 'trying' Emmetts for so long, we finally asked about their beer last night.  I probably will continue going to Emmetts due to convenience, but will always wonder when I walk in the door if it will end up being a good experience or not.......

Their reservation system is horrible!  I made a reservation Thursday afternoon for Friday night.  The reservationist asked if we wanted a booth or high-top in the bar.  I said booth, surprised and happy to have been given a choice.

When we got there we were seated at a high top in the pub.  I said we had reserved a booth and was told there were none available and it would be 30-60 minutes.  We opted for the high top because we didn't want to wait an hour.

The whole time we were there all they did was move tables around next to us to seat two large parties.  We literally had to duck when they carried tables over our heads.

On the way out I checked the reservation list, and they indeed had us down for a booth, but that had been crossed out.  All they could offer was a meager sorry and told me it was the reservationist's fault.  I should ask for the manager next time.  Since when do you have to ask for a manager when you make a reservation?

What happened to this place? I used to come here a lot, sometimes with co-workers sometimes with my boyfriend. It seemed like a good value, with decent food, great service, and a cozy atmosphere. Well, I just ate lunch here today and I could barely stomach my meal. I ordered the Cajun-dusted prime rib sandwich. Should have realized this was a mistake since they don't offer prime rib anywhere else on the menu and I don't imagine they sell that many of these sandwiches per week...  My prime rib was mostly gristle, and it was completely and thoroughly dry. The bun it was served on was burnt to a crisp. My sweet potato fries were really good, though. Won't be back, sadly.

I  enjoyed our lunch at Emmett's the other day , I had a club sandwich which was very good, I had a bowl of some sort of cheese soup which was overly salted  the waitress was very good , one of the other people with me had a filthy appetizer plate and the seven up tasted weak. But I say the place is Okay.

I felt compelled to write a review to counter the negative reviews.

I have been to Emmett's 10-15 times with approx. 5 of those for a meal (as opposed to just drinks).  Service is average (at the bar) but never had any issues with the hostess/waitress.  I like the food, I like the prices ($12-20 for average entree), and most of all, I like the atmosphere.  Their in-house brewed beer is also excellent IMHO! (approx. 5 different selections).

In summary, one of my favorite restaurants in town.

Been here twice.  I like Emmett's in West Dundee, but this Palatine location is bad, bad, bad.

My first visit to P-tine Emmett's was explosively bad, at the bar rail while waiting for friends for dinner. The bartenders ignored me my group of 4 for 95% of the time, despite that we were the only 4 people at the rail and that they weren't busy.  Then they served us the worst soup ever.  When the check arrived we complained that none of us could tolerate nor ate the soup.  The response?  Oh, other guests didn't like it either.  So you knew it was bad, we didn't eat it, and you still wanted to charge us for all 4?  That combined with the lack of service getting served anything at a brewery, no less at the bar rail, was enough for us.   It was so bad dinner did not follow.

The second time was rough and took place while attending a private event.  The servers were friendly this time but lackluster on service.  There were 3 entrees available and we ordered.  The servers asked everyone to repeat their order a second time.  When the food was delivered much later, about 4-5 dishes at a time for a room of 40 people, the servers still didn't know which food was for which guest.  They tried to serve me the wrong entree 3 times.  Finally, my correct food arrived last after all other 39 guests were served.  My food was lukewarm at this point.  I was also skipped for coffee service, and after waiting for about 15 minutes for a server to offer me a cup (while everyone else had finished theirs), I walked to the small bar to finally fill my own cup of coffee from the urn.   The server said "let me get it for you,"  had to turn the urn around to face herself in order to fill my cup, and handed the cup back.  This really didn't service me.

Luckily for the host, the guests from the second visit were too kind to complain or weren't bothered by the shoddy service.

The service is a joke! It's almost as if the guests owe them something. It took 10 mins for the server to greet our table and when we ordered our drinks it took another 15 mins to get them. The pub was not busy, maybe 10 people there. Anyway, we let the manager Candi know and she had such a bad attituide as if it was our fault and we were keeping her from her phone that she had been on at the bar.

The beer is great. The food has no flavor.

Not happy and will never go back. The management needs to go back to serving or get a lesson how to run a resturant and treat people!

Food is okay.  Beer is okay. Service is okay. The interior is really nice and there is outside seating which is nice in the summer.  But other than that it is just another restaurant in Palatine- nothing to write home about.

    Four stars for Emmett's.

I've been here a handfull of times and have always enjoyed the experience, including the time I visitied the Dundee location.

I haven't exactly been able to offer my two cents about the establishment to Yelp in the past because I hadn't really dined at Emmett's, I mostly just drank beer, munched on their potato skins, and ordered Bear Fight shots.

During the most recent visit, I ordered a burger with grilled onions and cheddar cheese along with their seasonal hefeweisen brew and pretty much went to town on my food while I gradually sipped the beer.
I have been looking for a good burger and beer place now that my ex-lover (Boston Blackies) closed shop and never called, but I think I have found my rebound. I wish I had taken the initiative to eat dinner here before, I guess I hadn't thought of it becuase I live in Arlington Heights and usually opt for more local dining, but it's not too far away so I will definitely have Emmett's on my radar from now on.

Other items of note include the [battered cod] fish tacos, and the 1 a.m. Ale. And I guess I'll admit that the Bikini Martini tastes pretty good too..... In hindsight I do love bikinis, and martinis, so why not the combo?

Oh and if youre unaware, they will  have an outdoor host from time to time. There's a sign right by the podium outside that says 'for outdoor seating see the host inside' so dont be fooled!

Emmett's has one of the nicest outdoor patio areas around so if you want to enjoy the weather, this is the place.  Our service was adequate, our server had a lot of tables to attend to so I feel this leaves them stretched a little thin.

The menu, what to say about that!!!!  It just lacks variety, serious the majority of appetizers are seafood.  Not that I expect dive bar options but at least give me some options!!!  Maybe a bruschetta or seasonal choices.

We ordered the appetizer platter which included bacon jam, onion marmalade and horseradish sauce along with sausages and 3 cheese options.  This was actually quite good.    The onion soup was so-so.  A tad on the bland side but there was enough cheese and no overly beefy bouillon on broth to make me glad I ordered it.

It's one thing to present yourself as a little upscale but then show it in your menu with unique choices using everyday foods.  But don't just limit your options and expect me to believe it.

Now, I did have two wonderfully crafted martinis which were perfect in their taste and alcohol balance.

Don't discount this as an option just hope they get a chef who actually knows how to create  signature dishes.....

I just moved to the Palatine area and my boyfriend and I tried Emmett's for the first time. It appeared to be a nice place inside and out. The host was kind of rude & told us we had a 45 minute wait when nobody else was even waiting, and we got sat in 5 minutes. Took probably 10 minutes for someone to get to our table to order our drinks. However, our server was very nice. We got nachos as an appetizer, they weren't horrible but they weren't good. I'm more impressed with the nachos served at a ball game. We ordered a cobb salad and the shrimp vodka sauce pasta as entrees, BARF.  It was cold outside and it was frigid in the restaurant. Needless to say, we probably won't be going back. Unfortunately, disappointed!

(Maybe a good place to go to with the intention of just sitting at the bar)

I have been to Emmett's a few times but I think that last Thursday might be the last time I sit anywhere but the bar...

Emmett's is very well done on the inside and appears to be rather classy.  The is a fireplace outside and it had a nice vibe.  The food is good -- nothing to write home about, but good.  I have had every veggie option on the menu and I was never disappointed by anything but the price.  The two best options you have are the portabello burger and the caprese salad, both are filling and tasty.

The beer is good and there is a fine selection of their own brews - my favorite is the Amber Ale.  If you want to go for the beer and not the price go on Thursdays for $8 pitcher of anything.  This makes the beer to dollar value very good, it is cheaper to get a pitcher then two pints at that price!  On top of that there are specials everyday that are actually worth taking a look at.

Now with that being said, it seems like Emmett's is an nice place... but for the second time the service was terrible.  The first time I came here for lunch with a small group of 5 people and it ended up taking about 20 minutes just to get menus.  The food eventually came but then the sever disappeared, I had to go inside and talked to the hostess to find out where she went... finally after my second visit inside I just asked her to print out the bill.  The server came out just in time for us to walk out the door.  Not thinking much of it I went back to Emmett's to have the same thing happen again.  Luckily this time I only had to go inside once after sitting outside for about an hour with out seeing our server and hearing that the table next to us had not even gotten there drinks yet when they got there before us....this kind of service is just unacceptable.

On paper this place seems great but the (lack-of) service left me disappointed several times.  Don't sit outside if you want to have more then one beer and feel like sitting for an hour after you get done eating/drinking...instead just sit at the bar.

I came here on a Wednesday night at 8:30 pm and it was fairly empty.  I had a late class and I was feeling the need for drink and appetizer.  I am not a fan of beer, but they have an interesting selection here.  They even brew their own beer.  I was surprised that they had a drink list for those of us who do not drink beer.  The martini list was pretty impressive.  I decided to try two of them.  They were both delicious and fairly strong.

For food, we decided to go with the wing special they were offering that night.  I believe it was 50 cent wings.  They have four different sauces you can have with the wings.  My favorite was the Jamaican Jerk.  I also had the cheddar beer soup with pretzel roll which was savory and filling.

    Service was prompt and friendly!

I enjoy  coming to Emmett's every time I am in Palatine. They have great beer and good (but overpriced) food. It is a perfect place to meet friends. The outdoor patio with fireplace is fun to hang out on when the weather is nice.
They have a few locations, but the Palatine one is my personal favorite.

Went here again with my parents and wife. The food this time was not the same.. it was good.. but not great. The beer however was fantastic and also was the service.

If you sit in the bar the TV's are in an odd spot and as it always is.. what you want to watch is not on the tv in front of you but on the tv behind you.. and they are constantly changing what is on which tv which gets a little anoying when there are multiple different sporting events on

The food was just ok.  The baked onion soup was thin and had little taste apart from salt.  There was probably less than an ounce of cheese in there as well.  My Shrimp Pasta was well cooked and the sauce was good.  We had a nacho appetizer that again was just ok.  Service was also kind of lackluster.  We had to keep reminding our server about our orders.

I had a house-made delicious seasonal stout that I would highly recommend.

I would come back here and try some other dishes.

It's a shame that I'm giving this place two stars, because the food was so wonderful and I loved the beer. It's the service that lacked in so many ways.

We seated ourselves at a table in the bar area and waited a full 15 minutes before we saw a waitress. When we finally did, she threw us a couple of menus, explaining nothing, and ran off again.

We got our beers and food after waiting a significantly long time, but that's not what really bothered me. The bus boy brought out our entrees and the waitress never came by to see if our food was ok.

In fact, we had finished our food and the bus boy had cleared the table before we saw her again, at which point she looked mortified that our table was clear, thinking we still hadn't gotten our food. Really? You're that inattentive that you didn't realize we already ate our food?? What a shame. And she made it ultra awkward by SITTING DOWN AT THE TABLE WITH US while she tried to explain the mix up.

So we order dessert, with two coupons in tow that would give us one free dessert per coupon. The waitress took it no problem, then came back 5 minutes later to tell us that according to her manager, we could only use one coupon. That's fine we said, and asked her to just bring one dessert then.

This is where it gets weird. She brings out two desserts a minute later and puts them down. I'm thinking that she changed her mind and was honoring both coupons. No. She says "they already made both desserts. What do you want me to do?" she expected us to pay for the dessert we no longer wanted simply because the kitchen had made it.

"We only want the one free dessert." I said, and she looked upset. She stared at us until I said "I'm sorry.", then she sulked away. I'm sorry that your coupon stated no multiple coupon restrictions, and that you didn't know the rules of said coupon,  and then that you couldn't get to the kitchen fast enough before they made two desserts, but how is that our fault? And why would you then try to guilt us into paying for it? One would think that after the poor service and confusion she would just give us the freaking dessert. But no, she took it away.

Leah, you almost ruined our experience. Almost. If that food  or beer was any less tasty, this place would be getting one star.

My friend recently had her bachelorette party dinner at this location. I was very excited since I had my wedding at the Emmetts in West Dundee and loved it. We all had a great time and I found the service to be amazing.
Our waiter was Wyatt I believe, and he did a great job!  Normally when you have a large group splitting the checks always seems to be an issue but he did great. We all were served in a timely manner. I could only imagine what it is like dealing with a large group of women celebrating a bachelorette party is like, but he had a great sense of humor. We all seemed to have a blast.
My only complaint would be parking

Terrible service....waited 20 minutes to get our drink order, and they never brought us any water.  They sat us outside on the side of the patio with no heaters on a cool night. The food was sub-par....how do you serve a gourmet grilled cheese sandwich where the cheese isn't melted?  The house-brewed beer seemed ok, but I should have gone with a flight to try the beers because the one I ordered wasn't all that great.  My friend got the sea bass entree which was on the pricey side, and the vegetable side was basically bland shredded carrots.

Overall....not worth the money at all.

When you walk into Emmett's, the first thing you'll see is their brewing tanks.  The restaurant is to the left and the bar is to the right.  I've always just gone to the bar for some good beer and food, as there's plenty of comfy booth/high table seating and the full menu is available.

All of their brews are great, but my recent favorite is their Hefeweizen.  It's very smooth and has a hint of banana. Smells good and tastes great.  They also have daily specials and Thursdays are great, since they have half price pitchers at about $7.  Plus you can grab a six-pack of their brews if you're a fan.

The food is good and they have some solid burgers.  The beef patties have a nice charred crust and are super juicy.  Actually I think I always just get a burger and beer.

The service can be hit or miss, as some of the servers are excellent and others not so much.  But that much I can deal with since they have some great beer!

To sum it up: Good food, HORRIBLE service!

I had come here before for a buffet-style rehearsal dinner and found the food to be very tasty, so I wanted to come back and try again.

There was a group of five of us.  We were seated right away, which was very nice.  Right by the fire, but not to where we were dying of heat or anything.  But then we didn't see our waitress for at least 10 minutes.  Then she stopped by to say she would be right with us, and walked away, and we didn't see her for another 10 minutes.

There were only three of us there at this point (heavy snow made the other two late) and she finally took our drink orders after us sitting there for about 30 minutes at this point.  My friend got a pint, the other got the sampler, and I got a diet coke.  Not too hard.  It took about 15 minutes for her to show back up with anything, and she forgot my coke.  That was the easiest one!  My friend with the sampler asked for the sheet that explained all of the beers, and our waitress had to be reminded of it 3 times before she actually brought it.

Now when our other friends showed up, she was nowhere to be found, so they ended up having to go to the bar for their drinks.  I don't even think the waitress noticed.  My husband and two others ordered a pitcher of something they called delicious (1/2 price pitcher Thursdays, WOOT!) and it ended up being 7.50 whereas the pints they ordered before that were $5 each!

Onto the food--My husband had the Kobe burger, and he said it was the BEST burger he ever had.  So that was a plus.  However, he said his fries tasted like McDonald's chicken nuggets.  He was NOT incorrect--they truly did!  And they were cold.

I ordered the french onion soup, which was amazing btw, and a chicken sandwich with no swiss cheese.  It came with LOADS of swiss.  I was not impressed with that.

One of my friends ordered the shrimp pasta dish.  Our waitress comes by about 10 minutes later, and plunks down a salad with some kind of vinaigrette dressing on it, and says "yours comes with a salad and I forgot" and then she walked away.  We re-looked at the menu, and it said a CHOICE of soup or salad.  My friend A)wasn't given a choice, B) doesn't like salad, and C) If he did like salad, why wasn't he asked what kind of dressing he wanted?

The steak salad was VERY good, but my friend said his Ahi tuna was sort of disgusting.  And he loves him some tuna, so it must have been bad!

In the spirit of our waitress being awful, she messed up the check, and took forever to bring it.  She never picked up her pace with the food/delivery, and many things were cold when they came out.

Overall, I would come for the food, but you can get better service elsewhere!

Emmett's Ale House is a huge place! I'm not a big sports bar fan so I was pleased to see their dining room side was so roomy and on the opposite side of the building from the bar and the big screen tv's. The decor is quite nice for a pub, more like an old English fox hunting club with lots of dark wood. But there are plenty of tall windows letting in light so it's not so dark inside.

Now for the food...after reading the description of their sweet potato fries I had to get them as an appetizer. Now I know you are thinking "sweet potato fries, big deal" but they were like eating candy! Fried perfectly they were served with two dipping sauces, a barbecue and a divine maple sugar butter. So delicious we scarfed them up!

I ordered the beef brisket which was just okay; too much gristle in my serving but the mashed potatoes were good and plentiful along with the roasted vegetables. My friend had a burger and she said it was quite tasty. You get your choice of some different sides with the sandwiches/burgers as well.

The service was adequate but nothing over the top. Our server was knowledgable and answered our questions. I'd go back and try something else as their menu was pretty big. Oh, and if you are a beer drinker they have a large selection.

For the TL;DR crowd:  Really nice beer, great bartenders, blah food, lousy food service.

We celebrated my dad and brother's birthdays at Emmett's this weekend.  The fiance and I arrived early and had a beer at the bar.  The smiling bartender gave us samples of each of the beers that they brewed so we had an idea of what we liked before ordering.  I love places that do this - you'll get a big tip from me for letting me try before I buy!

Onto the meal - our waitress.  was.  so.  slow.  And she'd disappear for long stretched while we sat drinkless and foodless.  Yeah, the kitchen can be slow, I get that.  At least stop by and make sure we're ok and explain what's going on.

The food was just blah.  The appetizers were all over-fried, the red meat was overcooked, and after not getting our food until an hour and twenty minutes after we were sat, my fries were cold.  WTF?

I'd go back and drink there, but I certainly won't be planning another family get together there.
