The service is so good here and so friendly. Â The decor is amazing, and yes, this place is pretty pricey. Â I ordered the lamb lollipops which were cooked nice and rare, but the risotto was undercooked. Â Nobody likes crunchy rice in their risotto. Â Small portions for a big price and the beer is pricey to. Â My friend paid $5 for an O'Douls.
I will give it another shot because I enjoyed the service and the lamb. Â Good place to bring a date. Â I need to try the pizza too.
I used to be a 5 Star fan of this place, but unfortunately they have taken their success for granted and service and quality have slipped dramatically. Their pizzas while good aren't great anymore and their service has seriously fallen off. Â I have noticed a massive turnover of personnel there so I assume something has changed in management. They have gotten our order wrong that last several visits and the service is always slow.
Review Source:Can we just be blunt here? The service stunk.
Today, after being seated, we waited and waited but no server approached us. Â It wasn't busy. Â There was no excuse for this. Â The hostess spotted that we hadn't been approached and asked to fill our drink order. Â She returned with our drinks and still the server had not approached us yet. (Jason Sheetz: are you still the COO? The server's name is Ashley.)
We waited further and I finally began a countdown. We were prepared to leave if the server didn't arrive within the next 2 minutes. Â When she did, she greeted us by asking "Are you the group wanting to order lunch?" She didn't introduce herself or attempt to make a menu selection. Â I am always tempted to call the manager over and ask him: "Give me a good reason why I should tip this server?"
As you'd expect, the wait for our meals was also ridiculously too long. Â When the food arrived, one of my guests asked for mustard. Â The server responded, "We only have Dijon mustard" in a tone that clearly inferred "You don't want it, right?" Â Why didn't she simply and happily say "We have Dijon mustard. Â Let me get it for you." Â And let me point out . . . she never brought the mustard.
Our drinks ran out before our meal ended. Â The server offered refills in to-go cups, but didn't return with the drinks until she was reminded that we were still waiting for them.
Lastly, the place was a pig-sty. Â Take a walk from the main dining room to the restrooms. Â Look to your left at the storage area. Â Look to the right into the kitchen entry-way. And then, look at the rest room. Absolutely no excuse for this. Â
I had been a big fan of Firestone, but today's experience reflects management neglect and a return visit is not on my agenda.
The food was about a 3. The service was like a one.
Went here last Friday with my mom. My parents recently moved to Woodstock so I am having fun trying out some of the new places near them. It was lunch time and we were in the mood for something lighter. The pizzas looked quite tasty but we were trying to be good. She got the veggie plate. I ordered the portobello mushroom sandwich, but asked for no cheese and the mayo on the side. First, my dish. It came with both the cheese and the mayo slathered all over it. I kept waiting for the waitress who was helping us to come by so I could tell her, but she never once reappeared at our table. Not to asked us how everything was. Not to refill our drinks. Nothing. We had to ask another server for our check at the end of the meal.
Despite my order being wrong, the dish was tasty. It comes with fries and a side salad....which is a very loose term for three pieces of mixed greens in a tasteless vinaigrette. The fries were cold and not crisp and lacked salt -- and there were no salt shakers on the table. As for mom, some of the stuff on her veggie plate was quite tasty, the carrots and leeks mostly. However, the aforementioned waitress boasted roasted tomatoes on the plate and there were zero, the quinoa was ice cold and the risotto was just mushy rice. I also think the price was a bit high for the food. I think my sandwich was 13 bucks. It was an 8 dollar value at best.
My mom said her and my dad went back again the next day for dinner and had a great experience with great food. So maybe this was an isolated incident.
This restaurant is okay and does fill a need in downtown Woodstock. That being said it's not great. Prices are higher than what I feel they should be in relation to portion size. The appetizers are the most over priced I've ever seen. We tried 3 of the pizza offerings and they were good but seriously lacked toppings. Some of the people in our group complained that their pizza was too spicy. I had been meaning to try this place for a while and I'm glad I did. However I do not plan on going back. I much prefer Ipps just up the road.
Review Source:I am not sure why the reviews aren't better. Â I like this place. Â I always sit at the bar. Â I like wood fire Neapolitan pizza and they also have a gluten free crust if that's your thing. Â The toppings are fresh and the salads are good, and the staff is always friendly and attentive. Â So, I can easily recommend.
Review Source:Firestone was one of my regular places I'd like to go to for dinner and a good glass of wine.  Hadn't visited in quite some time and this past Saturday was the worst yet.  We arrived at 6pm fairly early to avoid the dinner crowd and the young girls hostessing were unattentive and unfriendly.  We were seated at a 4 top table towards the kitchen which was right on top of another one right next to us.  We sat there  for just about 15 minutes before anyone came over to take our drink order.  The server was quite young as well and when I asked for a drink menu, he said they didn't have any.  He went to get us waters and we left...very disappointed in the service Firestone, I hope you re-evaluate your help.
Review Source:This is one of my favorite places in downtown Woodstock.
Great cocktails, great patio, and great service. Â I enjoy the BBQ pizza, harvest salad and calamari, and my husband always gets the rib eye. Â One of the new items on the menu I just tried were the scallops with gouda grits. Â It was delicious! Â
Make sure you have a reservation on Friday and Saturday or you'll definitely be waiting over an hour.
We were greeted with a smile and was at a table as soon as we walked into the dining room. For starters we had the Calamari and over Roasted Mussels. They were both good but the calamari was in need of salt badly (and remember to ask for salt and pepper here because it is not sitting on the table there, it's by request.) the mussels had a nice kick with the pepper but overall it was good. Hope your a fast eater due to the timing on the food, we were no where near done with our appetizers and the entrees came on out.
Now the entrees were great! I really have no complaints other than a few critiques on my dish. We had the Pesto fig pizza and it was good especially with that balsamic reduction added on with the arugula. My dish was the Guinness Braised Short Ribs which were tender the critiques, the demi-glase needed more seasoning and the sweet potato mash that it came with was too sweet to be paired with a protein as rich as that one was. Like I said it was good and all the components were good just not adding up to one another.
The service was 2 star at best, our waitress forgot the coffee and had a bit of an attitude. Overall if that would improve then I will defiantly be going back!
It was a crazy busy night when I visited Firestone with my boyfriend and a couple of our friends. The wait was long, but they took my cell # and texted me when the table was ready, which was great. They also had a lovely selection of drinks to choose from at the bar. The house red Sangria was a sweet/tart potent combo. We shared a carafe of "Campfire Punch" with dinner, which I should have ordered from the start. It was not too sweet, and not overpoweringly rum flavored. I could taste the spices & the I would definitely have enjoyed sipping it around a campfire. My Key Largo pizza arrived promptly and was exactly what I expected. Full of complex island flavors. I can sum up my enjoyment  in just 3 words: HOUSE MADE BACON!!! I tried a slice of Spicy Chicken, which had just the right kick tempered by the fresh ricotta, and a slice of the pesto which had a delicious sweet balsamic glaze drizzled over it. I think I'd like to go back on a night when they're not quite as busy and the patio looks lovely (when it's not freezing cold outside) I am sure it's a wonderful place to dine outdoors & and watch the people go by.
Review Source:This place is the bomb diggity. All of their food has amazing flavor. The salads are and truffle fries are sprinkled with crack. They're also happy to accommodate special requests and off-menu ordering; so don't be shy, ask for what you want.
The service is usually pretty good... not excellent. But it's the kind of place that would never rush you out the door. Super laid back, come as you are environment that's also classy.
The outdoor patio is awesome in the summer. And, they have an entire room dedicated to families with kids!
Food was awesome. I had the chicken sausage pizza, my dad got the margarita pizza, and my brother got the BBQ (BBQ was def the best!)
The service was just ok. We waited a while just to get our drinks (and we only ordered water). We asked for bread, the waitress said she could bring us some pita bread, and it never came.
I'd recommend going if you're not in a hurry to catch a movie. The atmosphere is great and is a perfect place to spend an evening talking - I'm sure the outdoor seating is awesome when the weather permits! Â
Overall I give it a solid 3.
I've been here a few times and my last visit was much better than previous visits in terms of service. The food here has always been great, but I found the service to be lacking.
I dined here last Wednesday evening with two friends and we had excellent service. It was my first time ordering a pizza and it was delicious.
Have visited this place a couple of times. Â The last time I went our server basically said that the food was awful and they were fortunately going to change the menu soon. Â She was correct, the food was not good at all. Â So we waited a couple of months and returned. Â The food was not spectacular at all. Â The only reason I give it 3 stars is because the patio is an awesome spot to hang out and have a few drinks. Â The food can be passed over.
Review Source:Not a great first visit to Fire Stone. Â First, the doors were open, fans were blowing and the sun was setting. Â The wind chill in there was pretty brutal! Â I went to the car to get g/f a jacket. Â
We started with calamari which was like leather.  It was either overcooked or of very low quality..  The portion was really small  and the deep fried lemons that were included in the dish did not help a thing.
What followed was a long, long, long, long wait for some food. Â At some point, well over an hour after we ordered entrees, the server comes to apologize for the delay and told us they were putting our pizzas in now. Â We were probably served 15 or 20 minutes later. Â By this time, they have at least turned off the fans.
Our guest had the Guinness Short Ribs which he loved. Â I tried it and, despite the fact that I usually love all things Guinness, there was a flavor in the profile that I really did not like. Â It was served on a bed of sweet potatoes that may have been seasoned with cinnamon which may have been the flavor that didn't work. Â I was not sure.
Both pizzas had a light thin crust with a slight char  which was pretty good.  I had the spicy sausage pizza and, was disappointed that the sausage was pretty bland.  Also,  I am not sure why this pie was so wet.  I would not think that the sausage was sufficient in to create that much wetness.  It could have been the mozzarella, which I assume was made in-house.  G/F had the BBQ pizza which was not nearly as good as CPCs version, although it did have corn!
This is a gorgeous restaurant with big open spaces and a huge patio. Â It was not very crowded on a Thursday night and, with three pizza ovens going, it is hard to explain why they were so slow. Â It could have been a bad night for them but I think they really need to raise the bar on their product.
Solid three stars for the Fire Stone Pizza!
Good lord this place was busy on a Fri night. The outdoor seating looked very nice but it was a bit too hot. Our group was seated in the back room by the beer / wine storage area, so there was always a server walking by...no big deal.
We started with the Calamari and ordered two of them since we were informed the plates were 'small' , plus an order of marinated olives. The Calamari was a bit soggy but the olives were good although the order came with more pickled garlic cloves than olives. Crunchy and garlicky goodness if you want to smell.
I ordered a split pizza...BBQ chicken (hold the damn corn) and 'House made' sausage and peppers. Order came out quick but was wrong (damn corn)...sent it back and got a new(?) pizza in about 4 minutes. BBQ side was pretty good but the sausage side was surprisingly bland. They have Pesto pizza w arugula was very good, crusty and charred crust.
All in all a good meal and would return.
Love the atmosphere...the deck is beautiful1
1st time. Â Service was terrible especially since it was lunch and it was virtually empty. Â Pizza's were good.
2nd time: Â Service was good, prices on small plates are a bit much. Â Tried a few things that were tasty and well cooked. Â The lamb meatballs (I love lamb) were terrible. Â Looked like they had been fried at least twice and had absolutely no flavor at all. Â Total lack of seasoning. Â The risotto under the meatballs had the consistency of oatmeal and also lacked seasoning. Â chopped salad consisted of baby greens and 12 microscopic pieces of tomato. Â Not enough dressing. Â
***Not sure I will go back for more than just a glass of wine and the deck. Â Too bad, we had expected much more from this place.
Went here one Saturday night with wife and friends and liked it so much came back here the next night with the whole family. Â Pizzas are non-conventional and toppings are good and original. Â Hummus with pita is really good if you like garlic--comes with a whole roasted head of garlic. Â Sat at the pizza bar with the family and they give the kids pizza dough to entertain them while they wait. Pizza makers are very friendly and talkative if you sit here. Â My 8 year old declared the kids cheese pizza "awesome", so he was happy. Loved watching them make the pizzas all night.
Service can be a little slow and spotty, but they did make it up for us by sending over a free app and not charging us for our drinks. Â $3.00 PBR tallboys and the Yelp check in offer make for good drink deals.
I was extremely excited when I walked into Fire Stone. I was up in GA for my cousin's high school graduation and my uncle had talked about how good it is. The build out is really cool. It's modern rustic. There is wood with character everywhere. It's larger than you might think. I went to the bathroom and discovered an additional room with a sliding barn door for private parties.
When we arrived, we waited for a hostess. She told us that the computers were down but our waiter would be with us in a minute. Turns out that minute turned into almost 20. The waiter walked by and said, "I'll be with you soon" after about 15 minutes but then walked away. I understand the computers being down makes things difficult but there's this thing called paper and pencil. He could have at least gotten our drink orders and put them in the computer later. When he finally came to the table we were ready to chew off an arm. I mean, I was looking around the table thinking which one I would eat first, haha. The menu is diverse and fun.
Since I had plenty of time, I looked at yelp while sitting at the table and saw I should steer clear of the pizza (at Fire Stone WOOD FIRED PIZZA and Grill). I saw the BBQ pizza with smoked pork, gouda and red onion and couldn't pass it up. It was a good decision. My pizza was delicious. The smoked pork with the light drizzle of bbq sauce was different and super delicious. The pork was good enough to stand alone.
Some of the reviews said the crust was undercooked or burnt. The gouda added a layer that made this a complex ride of flavor. There were 2 pieces that had some scorched crusts but my mom likes her crust a little burnt so she was excited. My uncle got the lamb pizza. It was good. The lamb was spicy and flavorful although it was a little dry. He really enjoyed it. My brother got the prosciutto pizza. It's prosciutto, mozzarella and arugula. There was WAY too much arugula. The whole top of the pizza was covered. I'm not a fan of arugula anyways so this was a major turn off. I didn't actually have a slice of this but he enjoyed it. One of my cousins had the calamari. It was really small and relatively bland. This is surprising since it had jalapeños with it. The jalapeños looked like they had been put in the fryer and then sat there. They were soggy with oil. Another weird thing, they battered and fried lemon slices. It was an unwelcome surprised for my cousin. My dad's soup came out room temperature. My other cousin's food arrived about 10 minutes after the rest of our food. Our waiter told us that the cooks had over cooked the first one. He offered to get her something to make up for it. I mentioned the truffled french fries. He said that her gyro had fries and that's why it was late coming out. So, what were we waiting on? The gyro to cook since it was overcooked before, or french fries? Anyways, the gyro came out. It didn't have pita bread but instead was like  a gyro calzone. It could have been delicious but fell short. The gyro meat wasn't very flavorful but the main flavor was salt. The fries were not good at all. They weren't crispy and had no salt. They don't keep salt on the table so she couldn't remedy that problem.
They did have a really cool dessert where you roasted marshmallows at the table. If I ever went back I would bring some pizza home with me so I could save room to give those a try.
Our waiter was stressed out the whole time. He dates one of the other waitresses and they were fighting while they were working. As I said in my review, my food was really good but the service was really bad. If I lived in GA, I would give it another try but I wouldn't go if I had any plans that required getting out of there in a reasonable amount of time.
2 of us arrived at 6:20 pm on Sunday. We were seated at farthest table in back. Chose to sit inside since it was pretty warm out. Ordered unsweetened tea and had to ask for Splenda and lemon. 3rd person arrived at 6:30 and ordered beer which turned out to be out. We ordered right away as we were all hungry. After 10 minutes the artichoke SIDE dish arrived. The waitress said she thought it was meant to be an appetizer even though it was ordered following the main dish. Waitress said she would reheat it when entres arrived. 10 min. later the Magharita pizza arrived. 10 min after that the other 2 entres arrived. The artichokes were reheated. I ordered the blade steak. I realize it's not the most tender steak but I like it because it's tasty and was the only steak on the menu. It was so tough I couldn't chew it enough to swallow it. The waitress said it was because of how I ordered it (medium)  The manager came over and asked if he could bring me something else. I said I couldn't wait another 40 min to get my meal. He said he could bring the pork shank quickly and he did. It was delicious. The other entre was the salmon which was good. The waitress brought us to-go boxes. I packed the leftover steak for my dogs since I was pretty sure they could chew it. We finally got our bill and the waitress noted that we hadn't been charged for the pork.  We were charged for the steak which was more expensive  After waiting for someone to come and take it we gave up and took it to the register. The restaurant was almost empty with many people outside.
Mysterious and awful visit. My first and last visit.
This is a great spot in the recently updated Downtown Woodstock. It has a great variety foods from salmon to venison on the menu. The pizzas are awesome! They have a large mixed drink and wine menu. So all in all it is a perfect local joint for casual dining. The wait staff has been great and the food has been well prepared. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great sit down meal.
Review Source:I went here this past Saturday evening and overall the experience was good.
Our service was very good. Â The waiter always seemed to be available when needed and the food was delivered timely.
Most of my party had different pizza's and the ones I tasted were good. Â I found the toppings and sauces to be very good and the crust was ok. Â It was a bit too thin and crispy for my taste and for the Neapolitan style, if that is what they are going for.
The prices for the entrees were decent but the small plates/salads were a bit high making the over price per person a bit high as well for the food delivered.
At the end of the day, I would return.
I've tried this place a few times since my last review. Â As long as you steer clear from the pizzas, this place is really good! Â The appetizers, the non-pizza entrees, the desserts, all awesome! Â
Perhaps one day, when I'm feeling adventurous, I'll risk a pizza again. Â But really, why would I? Â The other items on the menu are too good to pass up!
I was very glad to see another restaurant in the trendy area of downtown Woodstock. I'm definitely a foodie and the places there have been great new options. Vingenzos impressed me. So, a friend and I stop by for an early dinner and upon looking at the menu I call my husband and have him plan to stop by after work because the menu looks so fabulous. Small plates, large plates. Pork belly, olives marinated in house, a dish with truffle oil. I'm excited. So, to start my friend and I order the marinated olives and the chips with blue cheese and truffle oil. Both were ok... maybe even good. The olives were definitely different in a good way. Not memorable... but different. I ordered the pork belly. It was also ok. I wasn't excited about it. It was fine. Ordered the artichokes. They were good. I really like artichokes and I enjoyed them. My friend ordered the 4 cheese pizza. It was maybe the best thing that I tasted there. It had some tomatoes on it (so it could have been something different, but cheese and tomatoes). My husband got the pizza with fig. I'm a big fan of fig. I made one at home that was better... it was a good recipe, but I'm not chef level good at cooking. Little disappointed with the fig pizza. I may give it another shot... but I did taste 6 menu items and nothing wowed me. It was fine. I could go back for some pizza. I just know the potential of ingredients like truffle oil, and figs, and it wasn't what I hoped for. Staff was great. Venue was awesome. Super cozy. I'm hoping to go back and be impressed.
Review Source:You should check it out, but proceed with caution.......
Drove by a few times and finally decided to try the place out with my family and her parents. I briefly checked out the website out a few weeks before my initial visit. I knew that they had wood burning ovens and I was excited to try it out. Once walking in, I was pleasently surprised at the menu, which not only had wood fired pizzas, but a nice selection of creative and culinary focused small plates "Tapas", salads and main entrees. The website's main page only highlights the pizza, but after going back I did notice that you can download the whole menu (not updated, but about 80% accurate to what I remember seeing on my visit). There is alot to like about this restaurant, but then there are a few things that are just a miss.
Not having salt & pepper on the table is just plan out pretentious!
Restaurant is beautiful and staff is very welcoming and nice and I love the uniforms!
Alot of the vechicles they use for their table top and service is unique and fun. I love the water pitchers and kithen towels as napkins!
The kitchen is open, which is cool, but only if it is clean....which it was not.
The name of the joint emplies that there specialty is wood fire pizzas. The creative ingredient pairings and ideas of the pizzas were all well done and thought out. This is definetley a "foodie" and not your traditional pizza joint. I ended up ordering a entree, but my wife ordered a four cheese pizza. The crust was not what I was expecting. Your typical neopolitan high temperature oven dough consist of a moist "00" flour base dough that has a nice rise and crunchy, slightly blistered-charred exterior and chewy interior crust. My wifes pie was none of that, excpet the blistered-charred part.....overly charred....just plan BURNT. On the way out I was curious to see what the other pizzas were like and glanced at many tables.....most, if not all of the pizzas were burned, with many of the customers picking apart the black charred dough. The picture on their webiste shows what I would expect to see.......what was going out of that kitchen was just plan careless.
Now here is the good part:
I went in for a pizza and was won over by the rest of the menu. I ended up ordering and sharing several small plates as an appitizer. The Crisp Fried Calamari was well done. Served with fried lemon and cherry peppers, Italina parsley salad, and a really nice lemon aioli. The House Made Brautwerst & Sauerkraut was great (not very hot, luke warm), served with grainy mustard and gherkins in small Lodge cast iron dish This dish would of been fantastic if hotter. The house fried potato chips were okay, but the portion and value for this dish was lacking, they coudl of easily doubled the portion and still mantain their cost. Because of that I would not reorder. I also had the soup du jour, which was a chick pea and pullled pork in a spicy tomato broth. This was also very good, but $7 for a cup like portion is a bad value perception and I will skip ordering a soup the next time I go. The Braised Short Ribs were just absoultley dynomite. Perfectly cooked, moist, not dried, served with a smooth and tasty sweet potato puree, brussel sprouts in bacon, natural jus, and a small frisee & watercress salad with a very light and acidic lemon vinaigrette.I cleaned my plate. This one dish will bring me back.
My father-in-law had the Hangar Steak with whipped potatoes, crispy onion, haricot verts, and what looked to be a red wine demi-glace. I did not try the dish, but the onions, did look under cooked. The steak was nicely cooked and rested, so when they sliced the steak, the blood did not run out on the dish.
We ordered the Cobbler and the Ice Cream Sandwich. Only complaint on the cobberl is that it was a fairly good size with about 4 tablespoons of icecream. You have to have enough ice cream to enjoy the rest. the Cobbler itself was really good. The Ice Cream Sandwicg was okay, but the ice cream in the sandwich was awesome. The cookie was slight hard to eat, especially on the plate in which they served it on.
All in all, I will be back.....especailIy to try out many of the other small plates and entrees. I do think they need to work on their pizza execution. Its in the name of the joint.....In order for it to be sucessful in Woodstock, they may have to dumb down the menu a little bit. Not sure if Woodstock is ready Duck Rillettes and Grilled Octopus.....both items I love to eat....I didn't order beacuse no one else would of eaten them..... I would love to see this place work out the kinks and be sucessful. I really thought the chef did a nice job creating the menu and the menu brings something nice to this area that it just doesn't have.
After reading some of the reviews I was tentative about booking a Birthday dinner for 15 people. We reserved the back area and we were very pleased. The management and service were excellent and the food was very good. This is a very nice restaurant with top notch service and atmosphere in Woodstock, Ga. We would not hesitate to go back with family or as a couple and are very pleased to have a Buckhead class restaurant 5 min away!
Review Source:Went with a few friends to this establishment where we all decided to share several selections of their pizzas.
The pizza selections were interesting and tasty, with the exception of the shrimp pizza....a tad spicy and tasted fishy unfortunately. The carmelized onion, pepperoni, and artichoke pizza's were our favorites. Everyone loved the
Service was great as the server often checked on us! Great job!
first time i went there with my dad we ate around 6 Â on a weeknight and it was getting busy. It was different, pricey, but overall great. Great Staff.
Then came back next few week for a wknd night and relaxed outside on the patio with the heat lamps. Thought the jazz band would be playing outside thats why My friends and I came but no they played on the inside? Appetizers are smaller than a salad plate portion.
Still leaves some to be desired but I hope it will get better
ADD review: improving, stronger service, but food immature
My wife and I went tonight for dinner at 6:30pm and were seated promptly. Â I would not have picked this restaurant based on the reviews here, but my wife ate here and wanted to go back.
There were plentiful wait staff and cooks to give us the attention we needed and prepare our food quickly. Â The only complaint we had was the cold air near the window seats: the wood-fired ovens give off some heat and you'll be in a strong draft if you sit against the windows on the right. Â We are not 'those people' who complain at meals out, but we did ask for a new table this time. Â The good news is it gets better from here.
Our waiter was not experienced with the menu, but had tried some dishes and offered good recommendations. Â My wife had the salmon and I went with the lamb chorizo pizza.
The salmon was steamed in a papyrus bag and the server courteously offered to cut off the curled, burnt rolls and carefully opened it up for my wife to avoid any burnt parts in her food. Â I tried a bite and it was cooked and assembled well, but not seasoned enough for my taste. Â My wife loved it.
I appreciated the smoky pizza crust that reminded me of my pizza experience in NY, NY, but the flavor of the pizza was also a little bland and unpolished. Â For the price (roughly $20 each without tip without starters and sharing a dessert) I expect a little bit of 'wow' in the flavor. Â I am ok with non-traditional pizza, but this had no sauce and suffered for it. Â The other ingredients were fresh and good, but I ended up eating much more red pepper with my pizza than I'm used to to give it some zip. Â Give Zpizza a try to get some creative pizza: night and day.
Good tea and the chocolate ice cream chocolate chip cookie sandwich for dessert was ok. Â I found the cookie curious... not sweet... it must have been made with cocoa and not chocolate chips. Â For $6 I expect more.
Great atmosphere and a good place for a date... as long as your date isn't a foodie :-)
Food and atmosphere were great, and our server was pretty good as well. Here's the rub - we were a large party celebrating a birthday party and were seated on the patio. It took some time to get seated, and once we did we set up camp for a night of drinking and eating - or so we thought. Soon after we finished our meal the check showed up without us asking for it. The server was very apologetic and said the manager wanted us out. Drinks = profits jerk. You will not be seeing my profit bearing ass again.
Review Source:Something is burning! It's not the building, just the food. At least, that's the smell I found when entering the Fire Stone Wood Fired Pizza Grill. The hostess was friendly, as was our waiter (at first). He started by welcoming us to Marietta Fish Market, then paused and said "can you tell I'm new here?" Maybe it was a sign to run the other direction, but having a sense of adventure about us, my wife and I decided to stay.
The starter: I started with the white-bean soup, and was expecting something like other bean-style soups. It would probably be a pork or beef base for the richness. Instead I found a handful of shrimp cooked to oblivion. They were rubbery and were cooked so long that were cork-screwed in shape. I sent it back due to it's repulsive nature.
The pizza: When I think of pizza in a nice wood-fired oven, I'm thinking tasty, yet rustic dishes could be served. However, that isn't the case. The pizza dishes range from the classic pepperoni, four cheese, and the margherita pizza all the way to the more obscure like barbecue pork or something with shrimp on it. I feel like they tried to emulate what CPK has, but it's done poorly. Pizza size is what I would consider personal-dish. Anyway, the margherita pizza was a few small cuts of mozzarella with a really BAD tomato sauce and huge basil leaves. It tasted really bad. Even worse, there wasn't even enough cheese to be on each of the dinky slices they cut. The BBQ pork pizza was a novel concept, but once again poorly executed. The pork chunks were good, but the toppings didn't quite mesh. I felt there was something missing from it. There was food leftover, but we didn't take it. None of it worth wasting the energy to heat up again.
There is a plus to all of this, they serve gluten-free food as well! Just ask.
Would I go back? Maybe 6 months from now, if they're still open. What can I say? The food sucks and we waited WAY too long to get our food. For now, I recommend most of you to steer clear from this place.
This place has so much potential...yet to be realized.
A nice addition to the Woodstock Entertainment area (I do not know the true name as I am a visitor) that would benefit greatly from a kitchen that knew how to prepare/stage/deliver.
Allow me to explain:
We have 4 adults and 2 kids. Place was packed. The outdoor patio was full and the bar stools were full (of cougars....but that is another story).
Our food orders were soups and salads and a few small plates...with one entree order (hangar steak).
Kids pizza was way undercooked.
The dishes came out sporadically with no rhyme or reason
The hangar steal portion was measly and came out a full 45 minutes after the first order.
The soup of the day was very sweet(!).
I will say that the other soup (white bean with shrimp) was very tasty and creative.
Like I said...give them some time to work out the staging and ordering issues.
The patio was hopping with some live jazz. Would loved to have stayed.
Maybe this is better as a bar that serves food as opposed to a restaurant with a bar.
