I recently went here on 6/1/2013 with my wife. We got here early and was able to sit in a big booth. We waited for 5 minutes and still no waitress to ask what we wanted to drink. So i decided to go up to the bar and get our drinks myself. This place is hard to find. Its actually in a casino room and you have to enter a single glass door. You have to ask someone where this place is or you'll never find it on your own. The place has several monitors located around the room and they were all playing the same music videos. The Pina Colada and Long Island Iced Tea were not that strong. This place is good just to kill time if your waiting for a group of friends.
Review Source:Cool place if anyone would wait on you. Â Hung around for 15 minutes and watched the bartender and wait staff chat at the bar. Â There's plenty of places to drink in the casino.
I find it strange how Peppermill prices identical food and drink items differently between establishments in the casino.
Great drinks, nice service, odd music collection, but an awesome place to get a drink and chill.
The cocktail selection is huge, and if you're a sugar fiend like me, you'll appreciate titles like chocolate chip cookie, peanut butter cup, and pineapple upside down cake.
The ambiance is relaxed. While there were people in formal evening wear, jeans and blouses were far more common a sight. The place is lit up with blue lights, and there's a fire pit in the middle of the room. This spot is popular, so if you want to sit there prepare to share.
I'll be coming back here for happy hour soon.
The Fireside Lounge is a chill spot. Â Hard to find, but... it's definitely an interesting spot to be in after a night of.. activities and that's all I should say. Haha.
It's like a breeding ground for Avatar babies!
But that's as far as my review goes. Â If you want to check out an interesting galactic meets Avatar looking place, then the Fireside Lounge is your spot!
The Fireside Lounge is definitely a chill spot. Kinda hard to find unless you've been there before. We had to follow a group of people to get there. The waitress was super nice and timely. TVs were playing random music videos. Oldies and some newer songs.
The experience was enhanced by the couple that was yelling at each other and the dude that kicked his glass into the fire pit water thing. (not that this has anything to do with the Lounge, but it was great)
Oh and check for coupons for 2 for 1 drinks!
4 stars for the fishbowl drinks, inferno and forgot the other one. Its hidden inside the 24 hour Milano cafe. Its usually dead here, but that can be a good thing. Just find a seat near the big firepit in the jacuzzi and have a drink. They have tv screens everywhere playing old and 90's music videos, ahhh nostalgia. Too bad our house-keepers decided to throw away our drinks!!!! Its all good we got 50 dollars food credit back so its all fair now.
Review Source:If you want a great place to hang out, get a nicely poured cocktail and a good atmosphere - this is it.
It's like taking a step back going into the fireside - it hasn't changed much over the years, save adding the TVs but it's a groovy little place to hang out.
The only downside is that smoking is allowed here and it is a very small closed in location so it can get a little overwhelming. Â Â I don't remember it always allowing smoking but the past night were were here, it was intense.
We just finished eating over at the Island Buffet for the Friday night seafood thing. On my continuing quest to cheer myself up and forget the day, we came here for some "drinking". I had been in here once before and it wasn't too crowded or smoky at the time, but this being Friday night, there was quite a crowd in here. Yep, its a bit smoky but I've been in worse. Seems quite a few of the people in here a going down memory lane of the "old days" of the original Peppermill lounges and the 80's. Its was a bit older crowd in here tonight, mostly couples. We got one of the big cushy "pimp booths" and ordered a couple of rounds of Tequila. Someone told me once that vitamin "T" was one of the essential nutrients. Its a good place to relax and drink and smooch.
Review Source:Tucked away right next to the Coffee Shop, the Fireside Lounge is small, intimate, and the coolness factor is  very high.
The name comes from the one pool of water with a flame coming up right from the center. There are plush red couches all around, and you can eat and drink in comfort. The lounge has a whole bunch of huge, full sized trees with white leaves sprouting up all over the place.. very cool. Even the chairs at the bar are super soft.
One note: poolside is really only conducive to couples, maybe a group of 4, not so much for groups. There are also plenty of other couches around for crowds.
There is a decent drink menu, and the the happy hour specials sound pretty good for a Reno casino. Two drinks of note: inferno and scorpion. Both are huge, colorful, come with fruit and gummy worms AND you get to take home the glass.
Verdict: Definitely stop by the Fireside Lounge.
A little over 17 years ago there was a Peppermill lounge/restaurant in Daly City. Â I thought it was the coolest bar ever but then again, back then, I didn't know any better. Â They unfortunately closed down. Â Fast foward 17 years later, I come here and it just reminded me of my childhood. Â The floor plan, the layout, the kitchen, and the outfits were exactly the same.
A bar is a bar if you were to ask me. Â It' has a cool very relaxed feel to this place. Â If you are not in the mood in gambling, this is a great just to chill and hang out with friends. Â I think Peppermill's fireside lounge actually started the "lounge" era.
Gotta check it out when you are here.
Walking in, you almost wonder if you've actually found it since the entrance looks like a hallway or something.
Don't expect luxury, be prepared for 90's style cheese served up with some fake cherry blossom trees, really comfy couches, a random assortment of music videos and a really cool water & fire feature. Â Oh, and a carafe of super salty almonds, yum!
This place is a groovy lounge, really. Â The couches were so comfy, I easily could have curled up and taken a nap. Â This is a great place for some chill time at the end of the evening or for a group to enjoy some shots. Â I'll be baaack.
The fireside has been about cheesy spectcacle and  ac ozy place to snuggle and smooch for four decades!
As a young man, I used to enjoy the happy hour, with cheap delicious nibbles and the low couches and low cut servers' gowns. Teleport to 2009, not much has changed and that's a good thing. I took a fabled buxom cocktail waitress out for dinner in the early 1980's and became a folk hero to all my buddies.
Warning, call drinks and specialty drinks can be a touch pricy.
Don't be tempted by the blue "bubbling water with fire on it" photo. Â This place is hella smokey. Â Drinks cost WAY too much. Â The couches are old, grimy, and smell like smoke! Â Spend your dollars elsewhere. Â And besides, you can never get a seat by the blue "bubbling water with fire on it" area, even if you think it looks cool.
Review Source:I like that the 20 year old waitress called my 60 year old father "honey". She wore socks with her pumps. Â I *do* like a practical woman. She pointed out that the table near us paid her a $50 tip!!! Â Whooooo! Â There were about 12 people. Mathematically, she had a better deal with our table of four, but that was lost.
I love the campy element but would not make a special trip unless staying in the hotel.
I'm a fan because it reminds me of the Madonna Inn in SLO. Â I was here with my family but if for some reason I ended up here with a group of friends, we'd have a good time too.
Yes, bars in casinos are supposed to be cheesy. But my god, you shouldn't have to visit the dentist the next day.
I wouldn't have cared for the specialty drink my girl ordered when I was an eight-year-old eating Kool-Aid crystals out of the can. Seriously, this was like every freaking fruity, sugary drink in the world, topped off by lemon juice. BARF.
As Tara R. said, the mixed appetizer plate was lame, though it had such potential (fried shrimp, chicken fingers, nachos, and onion rings, all on one platter).
That star you see is for the fire, which, oddly enough, wasn't too crowded on a Saturday at night. Perhaps that should've been our clue to turn tail.
'evs.
The scorpion bowl tasted more like a candy bowl filled with cough-syrup flavoring; the two actual gummy worms didn't help. Though you get to keep the giant glass, allowing you to wave it around downtown Reno like you're decreeing something important, it's not worth the effort or the sugar-induced hangover the next day. The appetizer platter was bland at best, and all these goodies will cost you approximately 1.5 arms and half a leg.
There were good things about Fireside, though none of them had anything to do with the products we paid for. It was intimate, good for chatting, good for couples and/or small groups. It has a fire pit in a pool of water, and fairly comfortable couches to lounge on. It's also in the fabulous Peppermill hotel, where you could enjoy a lengthy seizure from all the mirrors and interior neon.
Nice place for a quiet chat and a drink, but bring your credit card and keep the drinks simple.
I really like the atmosphere of Fireside. Â It's dark, it's "fiery", and it's comfy. Â Seating is all big couches, unless you are lucky enough to nab a seat around the fire. Â Your waitresses are typical casino waitresses in those stupid skimpy outfits.
There are TVs all around playing old music videos - I definitely get a kick out watching them! Â Their website says that they are latest music videos, but they are definitely not!
Every time I go here, I wonder what the place would look like if the lights were turned on. Â I think everything is the color it is to give the place a "warm" feeling. Â But I think that if the lights were on, it would look hideous. Â Not that this is important at all, I thought I'd just point that out!
They serve specialty drinks, and some of them come in those gigantic glasses (which you get to keep afterwards); wine; mixed drinks; and beer.
Thank you to the hot brunette waitress, Jessica, for the Silk Panties!
Silk Panties is a drink! Â HA! Â Get your mind out of the gutter! Â This lounge is really tucked away inside the Peppermill hotel! Â It took some time to find so here's a clue when venturing around Peppermill - it's located right next to the Coffee Shop. Â Â I must have gotten lost from about 15 minutes searching for this lounge. Â Thanks Eric for remembering - You were the only sober one in the group!
Silk Panties Drink
1/2 oz vodka
1/2 oz peach schnapps
1/4 oz Chambord raspberry liqueur
Pour ingredients into a stainless steel shaker over ice. Shake until ice cold. Pour into a large shot glass, and serve.
Great for conversation: Â Yes. Â Bring your hot date here!
Secluded Private Lounge: Yes! Â Red couches turn me on!
Romantic: Â Gotta put it to the test someday. Â The fire in the water display calls for intimacy!
Serves food: Â Not sure...We came for drinks.
Cover charge: Â No. Â
Dress code: Â If you wanna get some tonight, dress appropriately.
Music: Â 80's videos. Â No DJ. Â This is more of a "kick back" lounge.
Drinks: Â $8-$12. Â Â Silk Panties: Â $8.00 each
Sure the Peppermill Hotel has a few reviews on the hotel and some of its restaurants but what about the lounges/bars. Â I think the Fireside deserves its own review. Â The Peppermill has 14 lounges/bars you can hang out and have a drink. Â One of the better ones is the Fireside next to the Fish Bar of course. Â If you want an evening to relax, sit back and have a couple drinks before dinner come here. Â Sure it needs to be restored a bit. Â Not necessarily a make over but the couches need to be updated. Â They seem all faded and dirty but don't worry about that cause a little dirt never hurts. Â They offer daily happy hour except weekends. Â Mostly complimentary apps and cheap drinks. Â This past weekend me and a few friends had the Nachos and Sampler. Â Reasonable price and very tasty. Â The sampler came with onion rings, chicken wings, nachos, and battered shrimp. Â The best of all of this was the nachos. Â The re fried beans where the best I've had in a long time. Â I'm pretty sure they come from a can but they beat my moms home made re fried beans. Â You need to get these nachos. Â
Just remember this is a lounge and drinks can be expensive. Â Martini glasses are standard but not topped off so you could feel cheated.
